We had a wonderful stay at Ayla Studio House and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Malta. The house itself is beautiful — stylishly furnished, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. One of the highlights was the spacious private terrace, perfect for enjoying morning coffee or relaxing in the evening. The location is excellent: the house is situated in a peaceful and quiet street, yet just a short walk from the beach with crystal-clear sea water. It’s also conveniently close to the airport, which made our arrival and departure very easy. What made our stay truly special was the host. The owner is extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful — always ready to offer recommendations or assistance if needed, but at the same time respectful of your privacy. Everything was well thought out and maintained with care. From the fresh, modern design to the small details that made the space feel like home, we felt comfortable from the very first moment. We’ll definitely come back in the future, and we highly recommend Ayla Studio House to anyone looking for a calm, cozy, and well-located place to stay in Malta. Thank you for everything!

Both Birzebbuga and this amazing house were very pleasant surprises to us, as longtime Malta visitors/residents. The town is very close to a few less touristy beaches and to the airport, and it's an enormous house, not a studio at all - complete with balcony, 2 showers and toilets and a spacious living space! And our host was always available for all our little questions.

The balcony was too hot in the afternoon, and the festa was a bit excessively noisy, but there's not much the host can do about those, haha!

The location was perfect. Also Kathleen is an excellent host. Always available to answer any questions. We had a couple of rainy days during our stay, and she helped us fill those days with stuff to do. All around excellent apartment and host.

Everything was great

I totally recommend it. The Studio House was clean, modern looking and very comfortable. The terrace was the perfect spot in the house, we enjoyed having breakfast and dinner too. The location is perfect, you are 2 min walking to the beach and have restaurants and food stores around. We had a great communication with the owner. We will definitely choose it again!

Ayla Studio house is in the center of Birzebugga, 15 min from airport by car. Owner Kathleen is great always on disposal. House has everythig you need and more. You really feel like at home. Bonus is nice terrace. Grocery shops, caffes and restaurants are near by. I would recommend Ayla Studio, it is great.

Everything was awesome. :) The host is great, very friendly and nice. It was like home to us.

- I will start my review by saying that this place is beautiful. The flat was wonderful with all the details, clean and has everything you need during your stay. Kathleen the owner was very friendly and welcoming and waited until the evening to check us in. The location is very good, less than 5 mins from the sandy beach and the centre of the village full of restaurants and cafes. I would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation during a stay in Malta.

There was nothing we didn't like

Location is close to beach and very easy to travel by bus to other parts of Malta. Host Kathleen was super nice and helpful and communicated well. Apartment is quite new and well equipped and clean.

There was bad smell of sevage in there area in some days. Hopefully it is not a permanent problem. The apartment is in three floors, not suitable if you have problems with your legs.

Breakfast was not included. Located near the beach

We felt the bed was too small - we bumped our legs/knees on the wooden surround on a number of occasions.

Stayed 4 days 3 nights in the month of June, 2023. Kathleen is a wonderful host who is accommodating, patient, and very easy-going. Our flight was delayed by 2 hours and we arrived at the location just before midnight where she gave us a quick tour and dropped off the keys for us The place: - high ceiling - bathrooms are clean - kitchen is huge and modern - kitchen comes with washing machine - outdoor space on top floor is beautiful - sofa area has smart tv which comes with netflix etc. The area: - 2 min walk from the beach - 5 min walk to a starbucks - easy access to nearby gas station and parking - easy access to nearby restaurants and super markets

Parking can be a problem (everywhere in Malta). Kathleen did a great job in helping us find a spot nearby. If you don't rent a car this won't be a problem, however, getting around the city with a car is much better if you are short in time

Ayla House is a fantastic choice for a stay in Malta. The apartment is spacious, cozy, and impeccably clean, offering all the amenities needed for a comfortable vacation. Additionally, being just a few minutes away from the airport makes it an ideal base for exploring Malta. Kathleen, the host, made our experience truly exceptional with her warm hospitality, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Ayla House exceeded our expectations and made our trip even more memorable. Highly recommended!

The place had everything we needed. The hosts helped us with any questions we had. The location was convenient for us as we were visiting family.

Just to warn older people - the stairs are steep and narrow.

We had a really pleasant stay, it is a spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated house. Despite being completely modern, it retained a historical charm with the high ceiling and the traditional windows. Both floors have air-conditioning, so hot days are no problem and one can also relax on the roof terrace in summer(y) evenings. Parking on the street is free, although it can take a while to find a spot, particularly in the evening. Our host was very welcoming: she awaited us when we arrived and checked on us during our stay, e.g. when heavy rains and colder weather arrived. We'd heartily recommend staying here, even for a longer visit to Malta.

Although the closest beach is extremely close (at the end of the street), it unfortunately faces an industrial harbor and is thus not very charming. However, some of the prettiest beaches are also easily reachable (e.g. St. Peter's Pool), so it's no big deal. A microwave and some smaller pots in the kitchen would have been nice, but it's otherwise fully equipped (oven, hobs, ...) and large enough for some serious cooking :)
