Beautiful place to stay. It’s feelable from the first step you make inside that everything where is done with love and care for people. We came earlier than check-in and were able to leave our luggage in the storage place inside. Maria welcomed us with big smile and made sure we are comfortable. The apartment is just gorgeous - you have amazing view on the port, and from the roof you can see a beautiful view on the city. We had water, coffee, tea, snacks waiting for us in the room. Great experience! Highly recommended place to stay.

That extra bed for kids was not made! We arrived at 1:30 am, and the host knew we would arrive late; she knew we would be 4 people; we had discussed it before. I really, really didn't like the fact that this bed was not prepared.

The host had left our key in the lobby with my name tag. And in messages, she had left all other information about getting to and into the house. Everything was clear and went smoothly!

It was a bit difficult to do any food preparation because there weren’t enough implements.

The location in Birgu was great and view from the balcony was amazing. We got a lot of assistance from Maria which was much appreciated. It was spacious and attractive and very comfortable.

This is the perfect location if you want to visit Malta. The old capital Birgu is very beautiful and quiet place. The apartment is a very romantic and cozy place. The rooftop garden has a spectacular views of Valetta and marina. Maria is super hospitable person and very responsive.

There was no curtain on the top window. It looked lovely in the evening but the sun shone direct through it onto the sleeping area early in the morning.

The property is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Birgu (one of the three cities facing Valletta). Access to Valletta is very easy by taking the ferry (the landing is a just a 10-minute walk from the apartment). There is also a public bus service which takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the capital. In Birgu we took long walks around the harbour and the marinas, and explored the traditional architecture and narrow streets in the historic centre. This location is also perfect for day trips to various historic sites in Malta since everything lies within a short distance. And there is plenty to see given Malta's rich history going back thousands of years. Also of note…. the property has a lovely terrace on top with sweeping views of the harbour and environs and is extremely quiet and peaceful at night. Highly recommended!

Casa cara is beautifull, my only consern that actually didn’t affect my stay, but maybe the building in future, is the water puddle at lower terrace.

Casa cara is located in charming Birgu, a place with no rush but calm and historic vibe. Theres also an excellent boat connection to Valetta just 5 min from it. I liked the interior, the cupcakes and the communication with Maria. Theres also amazing rooftop terrace with panoramic views.

I wish we had more information how to get into the property a little bit beforehand. My phone run of charge and it caused us a bit of panic.

It's a bed-and-breakfast, but it's outstanding as the owner makes it so. Collecting your keys and using the code with the precise information provided makes it easy to walk in, and it's beautiful. It's their home setup, like an apartment building with a central hallway with stylish light decor that oozes charm. The rooms are large, delightful, well-appointed, full of light, perfectly maintained, and spotless. They are very generous in stocking the kitchenette, but the ambiance makes it stand out. Yes, the beds are comfy and good quality, with lovely freshly cleaned bed linens and towels, but because they put so much effort into it, it is a place you want to hang out. So you're not stuck in a hotel where you must pay for everything or sit in some breakfast room. You want to hang out in your large sunny room even though it's an incredible location, which makes it so unique - it's quiet but close to everything. Valetta was lovely, but now it's one endless chain of restaurants and bars with competing, deafening music -Michael Jackson blaring from one and Journey from another. It's ruined Valletta, but Birgu has plenty of history, architecture, museums and restaurants. Enjoy the gondola ride across the harbor for three euros to Valletta if you want. Or grab a car and go where you want as it's accessible, with much less traffic. Or you can walk around Birgu, where you get a sense of history and enjoy the ocean in the adjacent, pristine, quiet cove. It's a shame because Valetta used to be a beautiful, elegant city, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. But now, it's like running the gauntlet as servers confront you with their menu, trying to get you to come in as you can barely walk on the pedestrian street as it's one outdoor seating area, and the noise at night is invasive. Birgu - it's a haven. It's what you want. It's relaxing. It's beautiful.

If you’re someone who prefers to avoid stairs, it’s worth noting that the property has some high steps leading to the rooms. However, for us, this wasn’t an issue at all—it added to the charm of the place and didn’t detract from our overall experience. But for those with mobility concerns, it might be something to keep in mind.

We absolutely loved the warm, homely feel of the property. Unlike many places that can feel bare and impersonal, this one was thoughtfully decorated with charming details that made it feel welcoming and full of life. The cozy atmosphere instantly put us at ease, making it feel like a true home away from home. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches in the kitchen, like the milk and little bites that were provided. These small but meaningful gestures added an extra layer of care and hospitality, making our stay even more enjoyable and memorable. Even though we are from Malta, staying here gave us a wonderful holiday feeling. The property’s location in the heart of Birgu made it even more special. Being surrounded by the rich history, picturesque streets, and vibrant atmosphere of this stunning town allowed us to see our own country from a fresh perspective. It truly felt like a getaway, offering the perfect balance of comfort, charm, and location. It was an experience we’ll cherish and would highly recommend!

Perfectly located in Birgu, Part of the three cities and a more relaxed area. The ferry to Valletta takes 15 minutes and runs every half Hour. So it is very convenient. Lofted bed makes the area more spacious and the rooftop terrace is beautiful. Maria was very helpful at all times and even provided bread and water for us.

Amazing place, we arrived at the room early but that was not a problem at all, we communicated with the hostess very fast and easy. The room was perfect filled with lots of products for use. It was like staying in the comfort of my own house. Birgu is an amazing choice to stay because you get to experience another place and wander around another place other than Valletta. It’s very close to Valletta and we choose to take a water taxi to get there. We really loved the place and hopefully we can come back soon. Congratulations to the hostess for putting so much work into the rooms. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience

Nothing negative at all maybe a few bedside cabinets with drawers would have been helpful for smaller items of clothing.

Casa Cara was in a perfect location for visiting all the historical sites. It was only a short walk to the centre and the waterfront for the river taxi to Valetta. Maria had thought of everything for a comfortable stay leaving basics in the fridge for our arrival including bread and cakes which was very much appreciated. There are a couple of little shops nearby too. Thank you Maria for making our stay so very comfortable and for the sweet treats left at our door. We were pleased that we were able to meet you and thank you in person 😍
