How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe service was great! Everyday the room was cleaned and we got clean towels...location is also good.....but...
The room was like a dungeon, there is not a single window in where daylight can be seen..(at least in my room).... therefore I was feeling like in a trap...

Verified reviewRooftop lounge
cockroaches coming through the bathroom drain holes. Pandemic of mosquitos if you leave the balcony or door open. Even the hallway has mosquito flying. First night i killed 5 cockroach and 7 mosquito. We had to cover the drain holes with towels so cockroaches wont crawl up. Staff ignoring the complaints i even called and he said maintenance will come tomorrow but they never came in 1 WEEK ive been there. Water will flood the bathroom while you shower as drains are clogged and waterflow will go down verrry slow. Housekeeping will never change your bedsheets. Rooftop lounge is the only thing i loved because the food is great . Music at night could be loud for some but i wasnt bothered . hygienic wise big no. I didnt even swim in the pool it was disgusting with black marks on the side of mold. The staff looks unbothered and sad especially the male one in the reception. Cerviola im disappointed.

Verified reviewWas very nice rooftop bar, delicious food and awesome staff waiters, bartenders and cooks 🥰 Rooftop bar saved all our experience here.
We had situation that our room A/C got broken in middle of night. As we were traveling with our 5 months old baby it was very important, so we had to change 4 rooms at that night, because A/C was broken in every, and last room we stayed it smelled like there has been smoked inside for months. That night ended at 5 am, so night was destroyed, next day plans needed to be cancelled where we couldn’t get refund and no one slept. After this night we didint even got apology, partly refund or dinner at least from hotel. Just staff told that nothing will be do and we already got better room, than we booked, but all we needed was good night sleep with our baby. Very disappointing, administration and manager just ignored us after this happened and didint even looked into eyes normally.

Verified reviewFrom Cerviola hotel, i didn't like anything; the breakfast was pure; it was an English breakfast (buffet) with nothing from Maltese cuisine.
We booked a room in the hotel with a swimming pool and breakfast, and they gave us a room in a 1-2 km distance from the hotel at TJ boutique. The room was big a renovated, but every morning we had to walk 5-10 minutes with the kids to get breakfast at the Cerviola . We booked this hotel because we had small kids and we wanted to use the pool, but we didn't because it was far from us.

Verified reviewBreakfast was very good, the roof top bar area during the time we were there was not good on the 1st day, it appeared to be full of locals, in so much you could not get near the pool, on the 2nd day, the bar area was very good, however the pool area was now taken over by a maltese childrens party.
As above excluding breakfast.

Verified reviewAll the emplyees at the reception desk were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. I really liked the lounge bar at the roof.
First impression - when you enter the hotel, it smells bad. Overall, it's not really clean. Before we came, no one cleaned the balcony. It was full of garbage and the deckchairs were very dusty. Pool was also dirty.

Verified reviewBreakfast is good enough even tho the instalations are way to small for all the people were there some of them they had to wait outside until someone was done. The swiming pool and the Roof lounge restaurant is really good and you have excellent attention which by the way they aren't part of the hotel, they rent the area. Location is really good.
I had the unpleaseant experience that i came after long trip at midnight just to foun my room was not ready jet so i had to sleep with my kids and family in another place crossing the street, next day we got our room. All 8 nigts and 9 days the garbage of the room wasnt cleaned up, all dirty glasses or cups weren't cleaned or changed, and i had to ask to make the refill of the shower gel, they only will give you 1 key, and the beds can be replaced they were way to soft, I guess 3 stars hotel is good enough.
