How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had a very warm welcome from the lovely host couple, and we felt at home. It was comfortable and relaxing, and we were able to use the pool area at any time. Recommend it to people looking to have a relaxing time in a quiet traditional home.
There wasn't a rail by the pool stairs increasing the risk of slipping.
Dear Tania, Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re very happy to hear that you felt at home and were able to enjoy the comfort, tranquility, and the pool area during your stay. It was a real pleasure hosting you. We also truly appreciate your feedback regarding the pool steps. We completely understand the importance of safety, and we take such comments seriously. Unfortunately, we are not permitted to make any structural modifications, even minor ones such as installing a handrail. That said, we always do our best to maintain the space with care and ensure a pleasant and relaxing environment for our guests within these limitations. Thank you again for staying with us and for your thoughtful recommendation. We’d be happy to welcome you back anytime !

Verified reviewWe had a lovely time at this charming Gozo farmhouse. It's in a quiet area, which made for a truly relaxing escape. The pool and outdoor area are fantastic—perfect for a peaceful afternoon. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was just right, and the homemade peach cake was a definite highlight! The convenience of a stocked fridge with drinks for purchase was a brilliant touch that we found very useful. We would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene and enjoyable stay.

Verified reviewGreat outdoor pool, beautiful renovated traditional building with great outdoor space, roof terrace, living area and breakfast area with fridge for storage, breakfast essentials, microwave & co. Rooms were quiet and kept up well. Everything was very clean. Host was welcoming and helpful. 15-20min walk to the center.
AC works only with. 1 & 2€ coins inserted. It was a bit of a surprise. It would have been better to simply adjust the room price for summer months. We came during a heat wave and stayed 4 days. We spent ça 15€ in AC costs. A fan is provided for free though. Shower seems to have an issue with warm water regulation, as water turns very hot after a few moments.
First of all, thank you for your feedback. I must say I’m a little surprised by the negative points you mentioned. Regarding the air conditioning. Firstly, it is clearly stated in our Booking listing that the air conditioning is not free and is charged according to your consumption. To explain you a bit more, this meter system is precisely in place to avoid overconsumption. Especially in summer, since we are on a small island, we often have electricity problems. Just €1 gives you about 3 hours (or more) of air conditioning. As for the hot water, you should have asked me directly while you were here, that way, I could have explained to you. In your shower, on the right side, you had the possibility to adjust the temperature. Even if you set it to the lowest possible, in summer here in Malta and Gozo, the water will never be completely cold. This is because the water tanks are located on the rooftops, and all the pipes remain hot due to the high temperatures outside. This explains why the water cannot be fully cold. It’s a common phenomenon everywhere in Gozo and Malta, and unfortunately, nothing can be done about it. It was a pleasure to host you, and we hope to welcome you again in the future.

Verified reviewI loved everything about it . It's a very pretty building with your own private rooms and shared swimming pool. The owners are fantastic and super friendly and are always there to help 😀.Breakfast was very nice, lots of different selctions which I like because I'm a picker. I can't eat a full cooked breakfast. They always asked if we wanted eggs, and if I went back to Gozo, I would definitely stay here again in such a beautiful place, and the B &B is well recommend

Thank you Milena for your review. It was a pleasure to receive you and glad that you enjoyed ! Regarding the shower, maybe you didn’t realize that the house in general is old so the bathroom and shower are not “modern”, because we always make sure that is very clean. Hope to receive you again !

Verified reviewGreat communication, and flexible around check-in. We arrived in the morning and were allowed to relax in the lounge area until our room and rental car were ready. The room was compact, but had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. The breakfast and coffee was delicious, and there was plenty of choices to eat. The scrambled eggs were amazing! The location was perfect. In a quiet side street of Xagħra, we walked all over the town, and Noel's shop just up the road had a huge amount of food, drink, and grocery items. Overall, this place was fantastic and I'd recommend it to anyone as a little oasis of calm and peace in a beautiful wee corner of the world.
I loved it all, but mostly the kindness and friendliness of Baptiste, Brenda, and Karma. A couple of extra hooks in the bathroom to hang towels on would be helpful.

Thank you for your feedback but I don't really understand the "bad" rating. I think that we received you with the best way and did everything to give you the best stay possible. I just told you when you didn't respect some rules (like for example when you brought extra people who were not allowed to stay in our B&B or when you didn't respect the check-out time).

Verified reviewLovely place! Cozy, comfortable. Breakfast was home made and delicuous. Brenda and Baptiste were really nice; they went above and and beyond to fulfill our needs. They even gave recommandations on restaurants and sites to visit in Gozo. Whenever we had questions during the day, they did not hesitate to answer and help us find the best places. There was a pet too; a little cameleon named Carma :). Amazing accommodation! 100% recommending it
