Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe aircon was very noisy. The pillows were too thick and the bed wasn’t too comfortable.
Amazing location right by the ferry terminal. Quiet but easy to get anywhere. The area feels more authentic than Valetta. Very good communication via email/message even when the front desk was closed. I bought breakfast once and it was excellent.

We were delighted with the hotel, super-clean, great location (meters from the Ferry to Valetta), optional breakfast was pretty good. We booked the rooftop apartment with the hot tub - it wasn’t cheap but it paid off- the view, the space, the experience, everything was amazing.

United KingdomWe liked everything !
Everything was perfect , the location is beautiful with lots to see in Cospicua and ferry to Valetta just across the road. We ate in the main square 5 minutes from hotel , brilliant restaurants and bars. The hotel and rooms are of a high standard and extremely clean, we enjoyed breakfast in the lovely cafe each morning. Would definitely recommend and return!

United KingdomBecause it's a cafe with rooms above, staff only stay available until mid day. Wasn't an issue for us but could be for some. To combat this all rooms and front door are accessed using a code sent to you before check in
We stayed on the top floor with the hot tub. It was exactly what we needed after a full day walking around Valetta. The location couldn't have been better, you can avoid the crowds of Valetta whilst still having a beautiful view of it and the ferry terminal to Valetta is literally across the road from the hotel and runs every half hour between 6:30am and 12am in the summer. If you fall between these slots there is also a boat taxi rank another 5 minutes walk down the road. Because you have the terrace the top floor room is a bit smaller but we didn't mind because we didn't spend a lot of time in doors. Room was clean.

United KingdomParking was hard to find directly outside the hotel, but we found some bays in the street Triq il-Gubilew tal-Fidda.
Wonderful attention to detail in our rooms, with complimentary water provided every day. Clean facilities. Great location: just a couple of minutes' walk to the ferry point that takes you to Valletta. Senglea and Birgu are also in easy walking distance. Reception staff were not always on site, but responded very quickly to messages.

United StatesLike many rooms here, the room is small so if you are interested in a more spacious place this may not be your place (for example the bathroom has a shared shower/room set up).
We loved the location, very close to many restaurants, shops, the ferry to Valetta, museums, and heritage sites. We stayed during a holiday and the staff prepared some excellent boxed meals for us while they were on break. We enjoyed the view and the amenities including a hot tub. Comfortable bed. An incredible view from the balcony.

JapanThere were hardly any issues, but if I had to mention one, it would be that the shower space could use a small shelf for toiletries.
This hotel was clean, charming, and very welcoming. Conveniently located, it’s right across from the “Bormla” bus stop, making it easy to visit Valletta and other attractions. The hotel uses a single card key for both the entrance and the room, ensuring secure and flexible access at any time. The room was spotless and comfortable, with clean toilet and shower facilities. While the storage shelves were quite high, they provided a special stick to help access them, so it wasn’t an issue. The room included BF-type outlets and USB-A ports, which was very convenient. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. On the first night, I found the room a bit cold and requested an extra blanket. They responded promptly and later even replaced it with a winter duvet when I mentioned I was still chilly. Breakfast is served from 8:30 AM at the café on the first floor. You can choose your favorite pastry and drink, and they’ll warm them up for you. Although the menu mostly featured sweet pastries, they kindly provided simple toast upon request when I mentioned preferring plain bread. If I ever visit Malta again, I would definitely stay here. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much!

CroatiaThe breakfast options were quite poor. You get to choose one pastry and the only other thing to choose is cereal. It's ok for one morning but gets tedious quickly.
A superb location with a spectacular balcony view of the bay. The staff was very helpful and solved all of our requests and ideas right away. Oftentimes you could enjoy live music coming from accross the bay.

AustraliaIncorrect information numbers provided for entry to property and we were just lucky that the housekeeper was still at property when we first arrived and heard us banging on door. Breakfast only available from 8.30am. No staff on site afternoons. No information on how to operate TV and it seems most TV shows had to be paid for. We couldn’t use it.
Location excellent if wanting to stay in that area and have a five minute access to 2euro Ferry to Valletta. Very clean. Staff very obliging and efficient. We only met a housekeeper and the two other young ladies who were there, on separate days, to serve coffee and croissants to the public and residents.

BulgariaVery good location , is just 1 min from the ferry, which for 2 euro can bring you to Valletta. Lovely boutique hotel , with great breakfast and very polite personal. Close to the hotel is groceries, snack bars, restaurants(we recommend MYKONOS by YIAMAS), cafe/bars (we recommend DATE (Art Café) - you can visit in the evening) and more. We would definitely come back.

United KingdomThere was a recurring problem with water leaking into the entrance hallway from the ceiling, which eventually got resolved, but we had to call and message Martina on a couple of evenings to let her know. She was very grateful and called us back to let us know. On a couple of mornings Martina's two young children were allowed to play in the café and it did get a bit noisy, but outside seating on the cordoned off pavement area was an option. Generally though, the room was serviced daily and we were very happy with our stay.
Dock 1 is a small boutique hotel overlooking the marina and the American University building. It has 8 rooms, with the ground floor being a part-time café providing excellent coffees and teas, cereals and pastries, or a cooked breakfast if requested. It has a lift to all floors, and all rooms have the same view, although some are larger than others. The top floor room includes a sun terrace and hot tub. The attention to detail, from the contemporary décor to the room service, including regular changes of towels and linen, plus bottled water every day, was excellent. Martina the manager was always on site and was very friendly and welcoming, as were her staff. Great little hotel.
