How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewEverything was fantastic starting from walking through the front door on a VERY hot day to the beautiful calm cool lobby/central atrium where we were greeted and checked in we were made to feel like this was a "special" stay. The lady who greeted us was really friendly and informative also giving us a brief history of the building. Due to the fact we arrived early we went for a bit of an "explore" from our VERY central location and returned to be shown to our room , which again was fantastic and everything (and more) what we expected from photos on website. We popped our head into the function rooms on the 2nd floor for a look and would recommend anyone else staying looks in also as again its an amazing room with a lot of history. The Breakfast (and all staff) was also the very highest quality and although we didn't have dinner or lunch in the restaurant i'm certain it will also be top notch and intend to visit next time .

Verified reviewI loved the staff at this hotel. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Maria. The room was wonderful with a very comfortable bed. We had breakfast in the restaurant downstairs, which offered a lot of options. The terrace was also a nice space to get a great view of the city. I highly recommend this hotel!
There isn't much to not like! The only thing missing was having lotion available in the room.

Cars can't enter this pedestrian area, but hotel staff will meet you and handle the luggage.

Unfortunately taxis are not allowed after a certain time in the old city.

Verified reviewI had a truly wonderful stay at Domus Zamittello. The location is perfect right on the main street, with easy walking access to restaurants, shops, and the main bus stop. The sunset views from the area are stunning, and the hotel’s terrace is especially beautiful and relaxing. Some rooms and the terrace even overlook the concert venue next door, which makes for a very special experience. My room was very comfortable and well appointed, which made my stay even more pleasant. As a vegan, I really appreciated how attentive the staff were to my needs during breakfast. They were all incredibly polite, kind, and thoughtful, which added so much to the experience. The hotel itself is charming and welcoming, and everything about it felt enjoyable and memorable. I absolutely loved Malta, and if I return which I surely will Domus Zamittello will definitely be my first choice. Many thanks to all the staff for their kindness and warm hospitality.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent for access to everything. The room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast choices were great and everything cooked to order. All staff, whether reception, cleaners or restaurant, were always very polite and helpful. There was a small mechanical problem with my room one day that was handled very professionally.

Added bonus while we stayed - the open air opera next door had 2 concerts - which we could view from the terrace- both of which ended by 10ish so didn’t disturb us! Cocktails and music….. Bonus!

Verified reviewI really enjoyed the service and food. All the staff at the hotel were kind, helpful, and made us feel comfortable. The hotel itself is very clean and has a unique charm, almost like a museum — it was fascinating to look at the pictures and architecture. I especially want to thank the manager, Moul Hajjar, who kindly helped us choose the best places to visit and gave us great advice on how to get there. I truly appreciate the excellent service and highly recommend this hotel.
The only small improvement I would suggest is fixing the room sockets, as some of them were not working

The staff are exceptional from the friendly receptionist Sandra, to the general manager who personally booked us an taxi to the airport and insisted on helping with our luggage, to the restaurant staff at morning breakfast who couldn’t do enough. The property is clean, spacious and in the best venue for all the key sights.

Because it’s on a pedestrian-only street, you have to walk your bags a 100-200 metres to the taxi. However, the staff assist.

Verified reviewThe hotel building is a palace. Our room was a duplex with two bathrooms, a living room downstairs, and the bedroom upstairs. The bed was really large and comfy. Everything exceeded our expectations, location, comfort, installations, but mostly the staff was very friendly and offered great service. Breakfast is a la carte and delicious! We also used the gym and took great photos in the terrace at sunset time.
