How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay here. The staff was really friendly and met us like we were valuable guests. We arrived by car and were travelling around the island by it, and each time we could find a parking slot nearby on the street, that was free. It would usually take us 20 min to get anywhere on the island, so the location is really nice. There are 2 small pools which we enjoyed. The breakfast served at the B&B is home-made with a nice variety. And the cappuccino is the best on the island (the owner is Italian so he knows exactly how a great cappuccino should look like).

Verified reviewI really liked the hosts (fantastic, warm people) and home-like breakfasts. The location was perfect - remote, far from crowds, near nature and with an easy, 15 mins bus ride to the city. Also the pools were great, clean and well-preserved. Also - big room! And a bath tub.
The balcony in my room was tiny, but there was a lot of quiet, common space to hang out in

Verified reviewCorinna and Marco told me to feel at home, and I really did! This is such a cosy little slice of paradise in beautiful Gharb. The breakfast was amazing - Corinna's homemade jam is OUT OF THIS WORLD (and I have tasted a LOT of jam in my life). They are wonderful hosts and the place is perfect. Loads of great hikes in the vicinity, and there are two great restaurants nearby too. I would definitely go back!

Verified reviewEverything was excellent. Our family room had an A.C. which Marco very kindly switched on for us in advance of our arrival as it was a pretty hot day, We had a yard and a clothes-line which was excellent to dry our pool items on. Breakfast was incredible and included homemade cakes and jam, fresh local ġbejniet (Maltese cheese), imqaret (local delicacy), large variety of foods to choose from and mouthwatering scrambled eggs on order every morning. Marco and Corrine were always friendly and fun to talk to. They are excellent with children. Place was clean, including the pool area. There was also a large umbrella by each pool to provide some well-needed shade.

Verified reviewSimple and clean room, with great aircondition also a nice terace. Two small pools to use really good for refreshement. The owners are really nice, a lot of recommendations what to visit where to eat. The breakfast was superb. A small shop, bar and a restaurant is 5 minutes walk away. But for your comfort you need a car to discover the surroundings. Everything is 15 minutes away with a car (Victoria, different beaches...).
Nothing to conplaing. Parking was easy just in front of the property it could be full in the evening but there is always somewhere to park usually a minute or 2 away.

Verified reviewMarco and Corinne are wonderful welcoming hosts, most helpful and friendly. Corinne bakes delicious cakes 😋. Breakfast is excellent with quality local produce as well as cooked options. Lovely conversations were had with the hosts and other guests over breakfast. For us as a fit retired couple, everything was perfect 👌. We were also able to enjoy time relaxing by and swimming in the small pool area. The house is very well situated within walking distance of Ta Pinu, Gharb, and the craft centre.
There was nothing not to like.

Verified reviewCorinne and Marco gave us a truly exceptional opportunity to relax at their property – a true oasis of peace on the island of Gozo. The personal attention to each guest, the warm welcome, and the thoughtful care set this place apart from any other. We didn’t feel like guests – we felt like friends! Breakfast alone is worth mentioning as a delightful morning ritual that brings everyone together. And Corinne’s homemade pies and cakes – you simply have to try them. Thank you, Corinne and Marco – we will definitely meet again!

Verified reviewI just spent the most amazing weekend with my mother and my dog Paddy at Grotto's Paradise. I felt that I had know Corinne and Marco for many years although it was the first time I met them. It's like when you meet your tribe of people. That's how I felt with them. We bonded immediately and they loved Paddy instantly. I had my 86 year old mother with me and the fact that we had our room on the groundfloor next to the pool and close to the main door to the house, was a big bonus as she didn't need to climb any stairs. Apart from this, the room was big and had ample space to move around unlike other rooms we had stayed in the past in other B&B's. The greatest bonus in the room was the large yard which my dog adored, as it was full of beautiful plants and birds singing so he could sniff around this beautiful gem of a garden. One thing I noticed in the room was a big mirror where women can apply their make up as usually mirrors are only in the bathrooms. Oh and the breakfast is to die for. Home made jams, home made cakes, fresh Gozo cheese from a farm nearby, fresh salad, freshly brewed coffee, and a cooked b'fast which consisted of eggs bacon and sausage (which my dog loved). The two swimming pools gives one privacy from other guests and you will definitely find some hours for yourself with total privacy and relaxation. Parking was not a problem either as we always found near the house. The village Gharb is very very cute and very well maintained, with colorful plants and great restaurants in the square near the church. The B&B is also close to the sea and great outdoor nature around, perfect for walks and beautiful views of Ta Giordan lighthouse and Ta Pinu Sanctuary. Its perfect for a stroll especially for guests with dogs! I will definitely return and I give 5 stars to the house, the service and especially to the hosts, Corinne and Marco. I highly recommend this oasis of peace and beauty.

Verified reviewMarco & Corinne were fantastic hosts and the room was clean and comfortable with the outside balcony a plus. I stayed for 9 nights at the end of March, early April and was made to feel at home and very welcome, Breakfast was amazing, the homemade cakes and jams need to be sampled daily! There are some lovely local walks and there are bus connections to see the rest of gozo. Lots of info is available at the B&B and Marco and Corinne are there if you need more guidance. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to everyone
