Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBetter directions of how to reach the property. There were a lot of directions for reaching it from the airport but I had taken a ferry from Sicily and had a hard time finding it.
I had a very difficult time finding this property. I had to take two taxis before I finally found it (with the aid of two restaurant workers who hailed a taxi for me with someone who actually knew the location of the property). Once I had figured out the "lay of the land", it was a great location because of the nearby bus stops which I used to go all over the island. I had some issues with keys and one night I blew a fuse in the room and lost the lights when I tried to use the electric kettle in the room. The manager was very good about coming to my aid on both these occaisions even though he was not living at the property. There was a well-appointed kitchen and even a washer and dryer but I did not need to use any of these during my stay. I would go back to this property if I ever returned to Malta.

PolandWe were disappointed with a couple of things during our stay. First, although we booked a double room, the bed was just two lightweight single beds pushed together that separated easily, creating a gap in the middle. Second, there was no housekeeping service, perhaps because we stayed during the off-season. We were only provided with four bath towels, which was not enough for a week-long trip for two people.
The manager was fantastic - very communicative and responsive. He provided clear instructions with pictures for check-in and always answered our questions promptly. We were also pleased with the room, which had thoughtful amenities like a hairdryer and a socket adapter. The location is a major plus, with stores, restaurants, and bus stops all conveniently nearby. The kitchen is very well-equipped.

Room was simple but clean, I miss some small brush to clean the floor, and small lamps were not working, blicking all the time. The nearest bus stop 5-7 min by walk, that time (in January) was very calm.

The bed is very comfortable. The shared kitchen is good to cook quick meals, and it wasn't too busy. The location is good, you can reach La Valletta with a short bus trip.

PolandThe window from our bedroom did not have a view and was overlooking the Shaft. It is a cleverly designe vertical space within a tall building that allows sunlight and ventilationt of the building’s interior spaces to the outside. It also allows servicing the building as the pluming system is fit inside the shaft. Our room had a small damp problem on one of the wall near to the floor. it was not a problem for us but some people may need to be aware it. There is no noise from the street, however ocasionally some of the guests may be a bit louder so they can affect your sleep. .In overall we had a great time and were very happy choosing Guesthouse no 48
The property is located in a very good spot especially for those who are visiting Malta first time and wants to explore this country as much as possible. We stopped at "Guesthoise no 48" block 36C for 7 days. the whole place was clean. Bedroom was specious, with a nice ensuite exactly as advertised on booking.com. it offeres everything what a typical hotel room does.. Cmfortable king size bed combined from 2 single beds, working AC, smart TV, 2 wardrobes, desk, one chair, 2 side beds cupboards, kettle, small fridge, comfortable, Communal modern kitchen, very well equipped with a big fridge-freezer and dining table with chairs. Smoking in the property is not allowed. Check in and check out operated smoothly via What's app. Robert and Sue were very kind and allowed us to leave our luggage in the property earlier so we could enjoy exploring Malta straight after arrival. Very much appreciated by the early arrivals. Property has fantastic access to the public transport. It takes on average an hour to get to the farthest points of the island by buses from there, whichever side you wish to go to 😀. For those who rent a car, parking on street near the property is available. 5 min walking distance to the promenade filled with all sort of food facilities and impressive view on Valeta fortifications and St Paul's cathedral. Sliema Ferries Terminal can be reached on foot within 25 min or even quicer by local buses. Lovely King Gates pub accesible in 2 min, AD supermarket in 5 min walk.

ItalyWe had problems with the bathroom flooding: there is probably a leak upstairs and every day we had to dry the water and it was not very pleasant. Also in the shared kitchen, one of the two refrigerators leaked water and we put some rags and reported it. The cleanliness in the room and in the shared areas was not great and the kitchen is not very equipped (some pans are to be thrown away), and the stove does not seem very safe. The bed linen was white but there were several stains and we had to ask for blankets because there were only sheets.
The property is fairly new and well maintained (parking is fairly easy to find). The room was large enough for 3 people, while the bathroom was quite small. The shared kitchen is convenient although the amenities are very basic. The laundry area was useful. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. Overall we had a good time but there are a few things that could be improved. The wi-fi was good.

GreeceThe room was comfortable and spacious but a bit dark due to the window facing the pavement, making it uncomfortable to open the curtains because passersby could see inside. Both the room and bathroom were clean. The shared kitchen was also spacious, but its access was inconvenient to people with mobility issues (like me) as it was located in the basement, with very steep stairs leading down.

United Arab EmiratesWalls were quite thin so you could hear the other tenants coming back at 3am. The makeshift shower should ideally have some light as well.
Location was convenient. Near a bus stop which takes you to Valletta directly. The self-check in and check out was straightforward as well. Simple body wash, hand soap and toilet paper was provided. There were towels too. Shared kitchen available.

NorwayNot negative, but things that you need to consider or maybe ask the staff (we didn’t ask;) 1) 4 days stay 0 times room cleaning 2) no change of towels 3) nobody took out garbage, we need to buy garbage bags as well 4) no extra toilet paper, we bought our own * people slammed the doors very loudly and heavily (not a property mistake, just info). Except that good sound isolation
Location is great only 10 minutes to walk to the Sliema promenade. Good small shops and restaurants nearby. One Michelin restaurant as well. Room was good and clean, with TV, shower and AC. There nice and spacious kitchen, they have washing machine as well. Very friendly staff, who were very helpful in all cases! Over good experience and we most likely will come back and stay here again!

United KingdomThere are steps down from the front door and there was a step into my bedroom. I'm currently having difficulty with my mobility so I found them a little difficult to manage.
The accommodation was well situated for getting into Valletta and around the island; also it was easy to reach by public transport from the airport. My room was comfortable, clean and adequately equipped and the kitchen provided me with what I needed in terms of preparing simple meals.

RomaniaThe soind isolation of the room is cheap, including doors and windows. We heard absolutely everything and it was a disconfort to sleep. The front door of the accommodation was broken and it needed to be forcefully closed, which created a noise that could move our room walls. The bed, altought I booked a double room with a double sized bed, we received a room with two sigle beds altogether.
It is cheap and clean. The location is good for many activities.
