Everything was perfect. Easy access, wonderful location, spotless accommodation, well stocked information pack, everything you could possibly need utility wise, short walk to the sea front , value for money, and brilliant communication with the host, who was very accommodating. A real home from home. Would not hesitate to recommend and will certainly return.

    Nothing. Every base was covered.

    Property response:

Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope to see you back soon.

Alfred’s ‘Hideaway Flat’ had pretty much everything we needed for an active week based in Xlendi. The kitchen is well fitted out with everything you need to do proper cooking, its comfy to eat on the balcony with a view or in the kitchen. The bathroom had a decent shower and plenty of hot water, the beds were mostly comfy and importantly, the mosquito screens were all in excellent condition. It was also really helpful to be able to do a quick wash in the middle of the week, with a washing machine, laundry liquid and drying rack. There was a lounge and TV which we didn’t use but looked comfy, and a book swap which I love. Alfred has thought of everything. Thank you!

    No problems with it!

Firstly I have to say how good communication was with the owner. We had several questions about this and that but he was easy to contact and answered very quickly, always helpful. This is very reassuring for people away from home in a strange environment (although I was very familiar with Gozo and Xlendi). The apartment is very spacious. Indeed, we didn't use two of the rooms at all! It has a decent-size balcony running around what seems to be three and a half sides too so there are plenty of places to sit in or out of the sun, although you would be a bit too close to the next door people in some locations. As it happened no-one else was visible so we felt very content and not at all overlooked during our early March stay. The facilities are all that you'll need and everything works. The kitchen is very well equipped and modern to the extent I had no idea how to operate the hobs or oven at first! Access is pretty simple and straightforward with a delightfully blue-painted main door which is dead easy to find on your first visit - something quite important after along trek to get there. You do not want to be searching seemingly identical buildings for the one you've rented. I was delighted that it was still possible simply to park one's car right outside. No battle for spaces with the locals or other tourists. Location-wise it is just a short walk to the centre of the lively tourist resort of Xlendi. The sea is visible from the balcony too which is always a nice thing.

Situated near the bottom of a long hill on one of the two main routes in and out of Xlendi, there is a lot of noise from traffic, especially in the mornings and early evenings. Engines being strained, either because they're a bit worn or because tourists don't know any better, rev a lot and a stream of tourists on quad bikes can make conversation impossible for a few minutes as they roar by. With quite a lot of construction still under way in Xlendi too, there are massive trucks, cranes and deliveries passing by and, of course, there are the buses full of tourists that stop at the junction nearby and leave their engines running. Now, a lot of this noise can be moderated by closing the windows so it's not a disaster and I'd still consider going back as it's not as if you'll be stuck in the apartment all the time anyway. Indeed, play it right and you might miss most of the worst of the noise too. I quite liked watching all the stuff go by and wondering how long that little Kia's engine was going to last at 8000rpm in first. Perhaps the most disappointing thing for us on our visit was the dampness of the bed linen, towels and even our own clothes when left in a cupboard for a while. I guess that there had been a rainy period prior to our visit and the air around would be damp and, in the absence of any residents to heat the place and dry it out that's just how it is. As I have said earlier, this was early March and I am sure that the place will be as dry as a bone once it has had a chance to warm later in the month. I might suggest that the owner heats it up before another early visit as that might help. We managed and the weather was so nice while we were there that we got most things dry - it was just the bed in the evening that needed more attention and some hot water bottles! I have mentioned that the place is on a hill and this is pretty steep.

Thank you for your extensive review (the longest we have ever had in 10 years in business :)) and for highlighting your opinion on the highs and the lows. You forgot to mention that there is air-conditioning and a gas heater was also provided to heat the place. The apartment is quite airy with 4 large glass doors leading to the terrace, making ventilation easy, however being a small island we have at times 95% humidity in the air which makes it very challenging to beat the 'dampness' that you mentioned. And the apartment faces southwest with sunlight all day round with beautiful sunsets seen from the terrace. The apartment is rented out all year round so it's not that it's 'damp' to the extent one would maybe have understood. Cold at times yes. But yes this year we had a record rainfall. On your first day here we had 43 cm of rain in 8 hours, the volume of a normal March month!! Not normal at all. Glad to have been of service to you in answering your queries, knowing that you enjoyed your stay in Gozo and lucky you had a week of nice weather. I am looking forward to hosting you again. Thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and spacious apartment, exceeded our expectations, much bigger than the pictures, with all facilities you can wish for. Beautiful sea view from almost infinite balcony. Easy to walk to restaurants at bay, as well as Xlendi Tower for the most magical sunsets ❤️ Special thanks to Alfred who has made exceptional effort before and during our stay, making sure we are well informed about self check in and checking if we are well throughout our stay and offering help if we need anything, as we are travelling a lot, we have never felt so well taken care of.

Absolutely awesome! Nothing left to wish for: Bright, spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet, modern apartment. Fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, nice bathroom, lovely living room with TV and micro library. Balcony runs all around the apartment on the 3rd floor - it must be 20m long, offering great sea/sunset views. There's also access to the rooftop, with splendid views of the surrounding landscape & sea & stars at night. Within walking distance from perfect snorkeling/swimming spots in christal clear water, Xlendi Tower, restaurant, shops and bus-stop. Street parking available. Self-check-in was easy. Our host Alfred was very helpful, friendly and supporting. Highly recommended. Whenever we will visit Gozo again, Hideaway Flats will be our first choice.

The place is exactly as per the pictures, but way bigger and way prettier. It can sit at least 4 people in the two bedrooms, plus there's an extra one size bed that can be used plus the living room that has a couch. There's AC( works with coins and doesn't spend much money; although the apartment is big, it gets cool quite quickly) in both bedrooms and additional fans are there too in case one doesn't use AC. It was very clean, all amenities as per the description, has a huge balcony from where you can sit and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The owners, Alfred and Margaret are two of the loveliest people we've met, such good vibe and energy. They made sure they we had fresh water and bought some for us too as the market close by was closed the morning we arrived. Communication was great, Alfred made time and offered so much support and information on all our questions on how to get to the apartment from the airport, busses, ferries, gave us many suggestions on what to visit, where to eat, beaches to go to and we're very happy we took their suggestions. It was a lovely stay, we felt very confortable here and will definitely book again.
