Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandYou feel quite uncomfortable staying there as you must be extremely quiet as the place is like a ghost town at night. we were sent a txt from (Mathew the host who was very helpful with any questions we had) to say nothing to do with us but the last people to stay there were fined 1,000 euro for noise and we could be put out It was off putting to say the least.. We are an older couple and definitely weren’t going to make much noise. The rubbish has to be out on certain days depending on mixed, recycling or food and cannot be left over night so you will have to be up before 8.30 am to have it outside your door. If you like absolute peace and quite this it the place for you.
It’s in a beautiful walled city called the silent city it’s very safe and clean lots of lovely restaurants and cafes. If you hire a car you can park at the main gate entrance .you can park in any white zone for free not yellow or red be very aware of this. The house is a short walk from the main gate you can’t park inside as it’s only for residents. The house is 2 stories high it has steps up to the kitchen and the terrace were there is a little plunge pool lovely and sunny lounge area if you are old or have and ailments this might be a problem. Climbing the stairs.. The beds are comfy they are downstairs and you have plenty of storage for your clothes. It has hairdryer and iron and ironing board… towels soap and toilet paper..Kitchen has everything you need but as other guests have said a welcome pack would be great tea ,coffee, milk and water just basics small sachets would do ..We arrived in late but we found a takeaway place just outside the main gate. We got water and some food there till we got some shopping the following day there is a Lidl just 10 mins away.

United KingdomSome noise from the street in the main bedroom - this is unavoidable as the house is in a narrow pedestrian alley . This was not an issue for us but may bother others !
Beautiful historic building - excellent location

Location was stunning, beautiful house with lots of Character and with everything you could need. Little plunge pool with jets was perfect for a late afternoon cooling off after a hot day.

United KingdomThe pool was unservicable, which we pointed out on arrival and the following day, to be met by a wall of silence. To compound our frustration we were then asked if we could let an engineer in on the final day of our stay to fix the pool. A really poor situation given we had a five year old to entertain and their unique selling point was a big part of our choice. So we cut our stay short.
A well situated and comfortable house. It was nicely appointed and a good size for a family of three. Parking is available (we recommend Mdina Ditch but the walk up the hill is savage) at no cost. The city itself is a delight and the medieval charm is complemented by a number of nice restaurants and tea rooms.

United KingdomFantastic location in the old town, loved the quirky building over 3 floors - lovely peaceful terrace at the top of the building - very comfy beds - pool on the roof needs cleaning - well equipped but would benefit from a few touches like hand soap, dish cloth and tea towel, a few coffee pods for the machine etc but l loved the ambience and chance to live in such a beautiful old house

United KingdomLacked the added little touches like hand soap, shower gel etc. and no welcome gift - something you would expect when paying so much. The swimming pool is actually an unheated jacuzzi with a built in seat. The long list of things you can't do and would be fined for were totally unnecessary and off putting - not a very welcoming start to a holiday. Some towels need replacing as some had holes and were worn. Only 1 tea towel supplied for 10 night stay. Larger bedroom smelt damp as shower leaks. No shade on the roof terrace, parasol up there with no base, so too hot to sit up there at some points of the day - no reply from the managers when asked for the base.
The location was excellent set within the old city walls. The bed was comfy and has a functional kitchen with lots of crockery and good quality pans etc, has a dishwasher as well. The house was lovely with tiled floors and rooftop terrace. Has a washing machine but unfortunately no detergent. Has a table and chairs and 2 sunbeds on the roof terrace, lovely sitting up there in the evening.

United KingdomJust a point to note, our stay was early in the season and so although outside daytime temperatures were pleasant indoor temperatures were pretty cold in the evening. Lacked some basics like hand soap etc.
Lovely classic terrace property in a fabulous location just inside Mdina city walls. Property agents were friendly, professional and very responsive, provided prompt and clear arrival instructions. Clean and modern interior still retaining classic charm.
