Reviews of ICC Holiday apartment in Marsascala

Since we were with 2 children and luggage, the apartment owner was understanding and kind and allowed us to leave our things earlier than the check-in time. The apartment is as shown in the photos - neat and spacious. Three bedrooms with air conditioning, three balconies, a spacious dining room also with air conditioning, which is very important when it is 35 degrees outside.

The apartments are located on a hill, and the grocery stores and restaurants are located below by the port, so it may be a challenge for some to climb the hill after a hearty dinner or shopping, or in 35-degree heat. It's a little easier by car, but walking requires strength to climb the hill.

Extremely spacious, nice natural lighting, contemporary, minimal design, great for large families like ours that also need the option to cook meals! The host (Iris) was very helpful, responsive and considerate for our needs. Nice beds and mattresses and comfy sofas. It was also thoughtful to have so many available power adaptors for EU plugs use!

A laminated instructions page/ booklet on the main table for how to go about the house would have been helpful as, although some notices were put in various places, some went unnoticed from us (eg the hot water operation). Some things of course you eventually figure out but, especially for foreigners, some things are different from country to country (eg. There were switches to empower the air conditioning systems close to the ground which I had not seen before and spent quite a bit of time to figure out why they would not turn on using the remotes) so some quick instructions would help, even if those might seem obvious to locals 😊 Of course all those small issues we resolved either through communication with the host or just by trial and error..

The apartment is really big, we have even more space than in our home house.😃 Our kids loved Playstation. I appreciated the shop close to the apartment,where they had products gluten free for our daughter.

It is a spacious three-bedroom apartment with two balconies. There is an air conditioning unit in each room which we used for heating up the rooms when the temperatures dropped at night. There are plenty of parking spaces just outside the building. The city centre with many restaurants and shops is nearby.

1. The apartment desperately needs a deep cleaning, especially in the kitchen and in the bathroom. The kitchen sink was so dirty that we found a sponge with hair on it (!). The microwave and oven were so dirty that we did not even dare to use them. We had to re-wash the dishes as they were not clean. There was also a bin full of rubbish left in the kitchen by previous guests. When we asked where to dispose of it, we were not given any instructions. 2. There is no soundproofing and we could hear every single sound coming from the corridor and neighbours upstairs, including but not limited to yelling, loud conversations, stomping, slamming doors, moving furniture, etc., especially in the early morning and late at night. 3. There were no hand towels or rubbish bags, and we had to ask for these. 4. Some electrical items were with EU plugs (i.e. 2 pins), and they were clearly forcefully plugged into the electrical plug sockets with UK/Maltese electrical sockets (i.e. 3 pins) which posed a safety hazard. Some bedside table lamps did not have light bulbs. 5. When we arrived, air conditioning units and hot water in the kitchen were all turned off. It took some time for us to figure out how to get them to work. Apparently, there is a separate electrical switch located down below on the wall in each room, and it must be switched on for AC and hot water in the kitchen to work. 6. Although the building has a garage, we were not offered one. 7. The living room only comes with sheer curtains which do not provide much privacy; there are no blackout curtains or blinds for the night time. 8. There is no wifi.

Everything was great. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable.
