Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomElevators could take a while with only two and a very busy hotel with 10 floors and occasionally had a sewage smell drifting into our room(but it did go away quickly with air con on/extractor in toilet)
Lovely room, nice helpful staff, perfect location right in centre, breakfast was good too.

United KingdomThe room had a terrible smell our entire stay and waiting for the lift was definitely inconveniencing. The tea cups in the room, not a good idea. You can't hold it with a hot drink inside because of no handles. The ironing room is terrible, too Small and no where to hang ironed clothes. Towels were old and due for a change. Some staff were not very helpful when you made a request for something( it almost felt like an inconvenience that you want something). Location of the kettle is just not appropriate( right under the television and the steam just goes on the Tv when the kettle boils) also no glasses in room to drink water. We did not dare even go to the pool because it was very noisy and not a relaxing space . On our last night, there was loud music from the guest next door.
I was in malta to celebrate my birthday and was pleasantly surprised with a decorated bed. The gentleman who welcomed us on the arrival day was very Nice and professional. Sorry didnt take his name. He made us feel very welcome and even helped store our bags while we went to explore .

UkraineWhat I didn’t like: there were some issues with cleanliness in the room, which could have been better, but they didn’t significantly affect our overall experience.
What I liked: the hotel’s central location close to many clubs and restaurants, the room was quiet despite the busy street, we stayed on the 10th floor with a nice view and a jacuzzi, the staff were kind and helpful, and the breakfasts were good.

AustriaSt. Julian’s is generally a place with lots of bars and it gets quite busy. This is not something the hotel can control, but the bars play loud music non-stop until morning. You can hear everything in the hotel, so if you can’t sleep with noise, you might struggle. But as I said, this is not something the hotel can really change. Also, there were no slippers provided in the room, which made it a bit less comfortable.
The hotel is truly in the center and very close to all the stops. You can reach the beach in just 4 minutes, and the swimming spots are very near. There’s a market and restaurants just downstairs. The staff is incredibly sweet — I especially want to thank Evelyne, who was extremely helpful in every matter. I definitely recommend booking a room with a balcony. The ones without a balcony face the inner part of the building, and drying your clothes can be very difficult. The cleanliness of the hotel is excellent, and the breakfast is truly amazing — one of the best I’ve ever seen.

United KingdomViews from rooftop pool we’re looking down onto rooftops of building covered in rubbish, the rooftop pool was freezing cold and the drink selection at the bar was very minimal even though the menu had a lot on it there was nothing available only the local beer cisk. Room we had was a free upgrade with included a balcony.. view from the balcony was onto peoples apartments with terrible hygiene skills. Second night there it rained so hard and had water coming through the main light in the room onto the bed. We were given another room again with terrible views- balcony’s are not worth the hype on there sight. Also looks like they have more than 1 pool on the description and they only have the 1 roof top pool.
Great area if you are into partying and night life.

RomaniaI had a rather unpleasant experience. The room was poorly soundproofed — there was a lot of noise coming from the street as well as from the neighboring room. The bed was uncomfortable and of low quality, creaking loudly with every movement, which made it difficult to rest properly. Unfortunately, it was not the relaxing stay we had hoped for.
The breakfast was very good, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I really appreciated their hospitality.

United KingdomNoise in corridors can be quite loud in rooms, rooms without a balcony lack natural light & we were unable to open our window fully without it getting stuck requiring staff member’s help.
Large spacious rooms with big comfortable beds, great selection for breakfast & restaurant for later meals, located in central St Julian’s with great access to shops, bars, public transport etc., surprisingly well insulated from outside noise of clubs & bars at night time. Friendly & helpful staff at all times of day. Nice rooftop terrace area with pool

IrelandOther guests returning from a night out were very noisy a couple of nights. Rooftop area was quite dirty - drinks and cigarettes butts left around.
Really friendly and helpful staff, especially housekeeping and maintenance. Lovely clean, spacious room. Comfy bed. Amazing location, 2 mins walk from Paceville centre and 5 mins walk from St. Julian's. Eurospar just around the around for essentials. Great variety at breakfast. Great value for money - stayed for 7 nights.
