How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood communication with a host, very nice person. Good breakfast, sweet or salty, with decent coffee. Nice quiet area close to ferry to Valetta. Large fridge. Easy check-in process. Cleaning service everyday, mirrors in the room, station for make up, Overall good for a few days stay with not too high expectations.
- Weak air conditioning (couldn't get lover temperature than 26⁰ in the room) - we read that air conditioning is extra charge so we tried to save money first night and end up waking up at 5am sweating so we gave up and turned that on. - the host actually didn't charge us for air conditioning which is fine but it could bring our stay more comfort if we knew we could use air con more often without extra charge. - weak pressure in the shower, very weak. - very noisy bed, especially if you planning to spend a good night with your partner, very annoying. - very soft mattress - water in the fridge was a good welcome until we read its 1€ charge if we drink it - lack of vegetables for breakfast - room had a bit too much furniture's and designed very weird way it felt a bit limited in space - some of the charging sockets would not work.

The room dimensions are not suitable for a group of 4 people, there is almost no space left for luggage.

Verified reviewJessica is very friendly and welcoming. The property has a good location. A vast parking at the door if you have a car. Just 5 minutes to Valetta ferry and a pretty looking marina with some restaurants and cafes around. There's also a beach in a walking distance of approximately 30 minutes at Rinella Bay. If you are thinking whether to have a breakfast or not, I should say it's fairly good.
There was an announcement in the room about an extra charge for the use of the air conditioner which I somehow missed although some people mentioned it, so please keep that in mind considering your costs. There are mosquito nets on the windows which actually do their job but I would suggest to place one on bathroom vent as well.

Verified reviewSuperb staff and communication. Location was good proximity to Birgu and ferry to Valletta. Coffee pods, hot food, yoghurt, cakes and some fruit available for breakfast. Hot water for shower. Decent wifi. Connected TV. Air-conditioning available.
The street and immediate location is not picturesque. Room and breakfast area could get quite hot. Breakfast has many options but not very healthy (cooked items were a bit lacklustre). Listing said 2 double beds but this was actually a double bed with double bunk above- a little strange to me. Noisy toilet that would make sounds at odd times. Lots of steps if you have bigger bags. Air conditioning not the strongest.

Verified reviewGood Value: The price was good. Quiet Location: It was a quiet place, don`t forget there is a ferry just 5 minutes away by walk which you should use when going to city centre. Breakfast Quality: Breakfasts were generally okay. Cleanliness: The room was clean. Working Amenities: Both the TV and the air conditioning were functional.
Shower Issues: The water pressure was extremely low, like a mere 2.5 cm stream, making it impossible to take a proper shower; it was more like rinsing with a trickle. At the same time, you couldn't switch between the hand-held hose and the ceiling sprinkler. Broken Coat Hanger: The coat hanger wasn't functional; I hung up my sweatshirt, and it immediately fell to the floor. Peeling Wallpaper: The wallpaper was peeling off. Bathroom Sink Without Siphon: The bathroom sink lacked a U-bend (siphon). After using the toilet for a bowel movement, the bathroom smelled for up to two hours because the drain had no siphon. Insufficient European Socket Adapters: There weren't enough European socket adapters. The room had a TV, an electric kettle, a refrigerator, and a microwave. These appliances alone came with only three adapters, making it impossible to plug in all four items simultaneously. Additionally, there were no extra adapters for a phone charger or other devices. Missing Coffee: Coffee was missing from one of the breakfasts. Broken Bathroom Door Handle: The handle on the bathroom door was broken.

Verified reviewThe location is good for the ferry to Valetta and next to the bus stops. The room is comfortable and has a decent bathroom and there is a kettle, microwave, tv and fridge. The breakfast was plentiful for 8 euros. Jessica the host is lovely and helpful.
I had just left an Airbnb, which was £45 a night and was beautiful with luxury bedding, free and endless tea, coffee, milk and an honesty box for alcohol, a pool and balcony with beautiful views, gorgeous bedroom and shower with bodywash , shampoo etc. I had high expectations of Jessicas flats because it was over twice the price and was going to be our luxury stay. In reality, the rooms are tacky with cheap decor and badly put up. I had 2 free teabags and 2 sugar sachets for 3 days. There was a lidless bottle of body wash, no shampoo or conditioner, the towels were hard and old and the toilet wouldn't flush until my husband fixed it. The view was of the repair docks and a wall. You couldn't open the window because of the chinzy curtain arrangement. There was no outdoor area at all except the alley outside with 3 chairs and an ashtray. The kitchen was shabby and had cupboard doors hanging off. I feel if you are paying so much money, the very least you would expect is nice toiletries and soft towels with a decent supply of teabags/coffee/sugar/milk in your room. The rating of fabulous on booking.com is very misleading and the room is over priced I'm afraid which is why I was so disappointed. Jessica is lovely though
Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We are pleased to hear you appreciated the location, the breakfast, and our warm hospitality — it truly means a lot. We are, however, very sorry to learn that your stay did not meet your expectations. Our goal is to provide all our guests with a pleasant and comfortable experience, and we are disappointed to hear that in your case this wasn’t fully achieved. Had you informed us during your stay about the issues you encountered, we would have done our best to assist you immediately — whether by replacing towels, restocking supplies, or checking the maintenance of the room. Without communication, unfortunately, we were unaware of your discomfort and unable to act accordingly. We sincerely thank you for your feedback, which helps us continue improving. We truly regret that your experience with us didn’t reflect the standard we aim to offer and hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Malta. Kind regards, Jessica

Verified reviewIt is ok for one night stay. The location is very good for exploring Three Cities of Malta. The room with bunk bed is small, also the bathroom is very small. The balcony is supertiny. The breakfast was ok but did not look and taste like freshly made.
Dear Guest, thank you for your feedback and for appreciating the great location for exploring the Three Cities. We would like to kindly mention that our rooms, including those with bunk beds, are generally larger than the average room size in Malta, where space can be limited due to the historic nature of many buildings. Regarding breakfast, we take great pride in preparing fresh food daily. Many items, such as eggs and other hot dishes, are often cooked fresh in front of our guests to ensure quality and freshness. We are sorry if this was not fully clear during your stay and appreciate your feedback as we continuously strive to improve. We hope you had a pleasant time in Malta and thank you again for choosing our property. Warm regards, Jessica
