How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful little stay in Valletta, centrally located and easy to access everything with good options for on street parking. Our host Adrian was so lovely and always available for everything we needed. Shared bathroom was always clean and we never saw any other guests there!
Our room was on the street on ground level so sometimes there was a bit of noise from cars and a nearby bar, but nothing too bad.

Verified reviewThe location was very convenient for bus transport, not so close to shops but there was a good local grocery around the corner with an excellent choice of bread and pastries and a wide range of European products. Both the host and the housekeeper were very pleasant and quick to respond to requests. The property was very clean and quiet.
My first room was on the street and had very loud AC and too much bulky furniture compared to Lotus the second one I could move to after a few days of a week's stay. That was compact but functioned well and was a good choice for a solo traveller. Both had the usual powered coffee and sugar but no tea or milk.

Verified reviewI would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Adrian who from day one offered his generosity in all sincerity and even went out of his way to attend to a minor drawback I encountered during my stay at such an inconvenient time of day. He followed up through to the end with frequent updates and ensured that my stay in Malta was a pleasurable experience with his invaluable assistance, recommendations and insider tips. He made up for it in the most subtle, considerate and thoughtful way possible with the kindest gestures. He really cares and takes it on as a duty that he is reachable and at your disposal 24/7 and that his guests are comfortable, feel safe and in the best company throughout their stay at his accommodation. Before your arrival, he provides you with very helpful notes and detailed information from how to get to the guesthouse (including by which mode of transport to use best) to self check-in / check-out procedures. In this serene household environment, authentic decorations add more value to the state of joy and elation you come to settle into. All facilities and equipments are in good working order, guest amenities are replenished, towels are replaced with new ones regularly and every day. Not to mention the room was spacious and immaculate. In rare cases where, by chance, something goes wrong, worry not! Adrian will come to your help and make sure in no time that things are 100% back to their flawless working order and put an appreciative smile on your face. This holistic approach takes it to a distinction on such a moral level where he stays true to his word and respectable character. Besides your money's worth, you have your peace of mind.
There was absolutely nothing to make your face fall !

Verified reviewLocation in a tranquil area outside Valletta. Big and rather comfortable room. Air conditioning. Welcome snacks are nice.
A bit strange baroque-like decoration. Directions about key-based accessing to the house can be improved, as well as some orientation about facilities.

Verified reviewI have already stayed with many B&B in Rome, Naples and India. Comparing the price, this was the same but they offered good breakfast compared to lotus. The only good thing about the place was the owner who was good. Rest nothing good
Room had AC which was making so much noise. Couldn't sleep. There were some mosquitoes also in the room.
i am the owner normaly i never answer to reviews, in my life i never smelled a very huge nasty bad body smell like that that the whole floor was stinking of heavy unbearable sweat that other guests where complaining and i could do nothing about it, on this guest check out we had to disinfecting the little room and i was so worried about the new guest arrival as the room we couldn't find a way how to neutralise this shocking body sweat i m so lucky that this guests only stayed 3 nights as if it was more i could have trouble with my guests next door a suggestion when you travel to europe nd western side of yoyr culture kindly try to adapt to our life style especially about self hygene about mosquitoes imposible as all windows and doors of the entire building is equipped with netting so maybe it was more got inside in a way of this traumatic smell.....🙏🪷

Verified reviewNice shared bathroom, and it was easy taking the bus to go to the city center.
My right knee kept bumping into the sharp edges of the metal bedframe, which caused some bleeding.

Verified reviewOur stay at this accommodation was absolutely wonderful! The apartment itself was spotless and perfectly located – very well connected to public transport, which made getting around super easy. We genuinely had the best sleep of our lives in that incredibly comfortable bed – it was pure bliss after long days of exploring. The host was truly exceptional – always available, kind, and eager to help. He answered all our many questions and accommodated every request we had with such patience and generosity. His thoughtfulness and helpful attitude really made a difference and contributed so much to our peaceful, relaxing holiday. We’re so grateful for this experience – highly recommended!

Verified reviewVery Comfortable. Very well furnished. Very relaxing staying.
My only suggestion to the owner is to set up a little kitchen (just arrange the microwaves a bit better and adding some forks)
