How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe property was a great size in a fantastic location to visit wonderful beaches and take trips to Gozo, as well as enjoy local shops and restaurants. The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival and Rowan was a brilliant host, checking in regularly and responding quickly to questions we had about the area etc. It was well equipped with everything you could need for a stay as well as being comfortable and well maintained. The terrace/balcony provides beautiful views over the bay and a lovely pool to relax in. Honestly can’t fault this property or the host. We’ll be back.

The pool was our favourite, perfect temperature. Really nice to relax in the pool with an amazing view. The kitchen was equipped with everything you needed if you wanted to cook it felt like we were at home. From hairdryers, to beach towels this place had everything. The area around us was nice. We had restaurants right next to us. And a big supermarket which was massive. And really nice people. This place was really beyond our expectations and exceeded our expectations. An amazing place to bookkk if you’re in Malta. You will love it just like we diddd :))))

Verified reviewThe apartment was nice and spacious. It was very clean. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The bus stop was just a few meters away from the building, which was great to explore the surrounding area, getting to the beach. Supermarket with a good selection of products is just 200 m away. There are plenty of places to eat in the area.
To our disappointment, the private pool was tiny with extra charge for electricity to keep it warm. There's no way you could swim in it. We had to go to the beach every day, which is about 5 min on the bus. Also, the apartment block is right beside waste recycling point, which was quite noisy early when waste was collected every morning.
Dear Guests, We would like to take the opportunity to clarify few things following this 7 star review from our guest Ms Olga, as it only happened after we informed her that we had found the sofa headrest broken while checking the apartment following their checkout. We did not charge anything extra for the damage but we felt the need to point it out. * With regards to the comment about the size of the pool, we built a 3x3 meter private pool with a jacuzzi on the terrace of the penthouse to provide our guests with a luxurious experience and be able to enjoy the surrounding beautiful views even more. There are many photos available on the website featuring this pool so that viewers can see for themselves if this feature meets there needs before booking. We have never received any negative reviews about the pool, actually to the contrary our guests were always super happy to stay in an apartment featuring a private pool and remarked it as the highlight in our accommodation. * To enhance the guest experience, we also invested in a water heat pump so that the pool can be enjoyed even on cooler days. During colder days we ask our guests a day before their arrival if they would like the pool to be heated. This feature consumes a lot of energy and is only seasonal, therefore we decided to make this service optional for our guests based on their preference. 1. This way, guests can choose whether or not to use this service, and we avoid including the charges in the accommodation fee to everyone. We believe it is only fair not to pay for such service if any of our guests do not wish for the pool to be heated. 2. If something mechanical happens to the heatpump the guests wouldnt have paid for it without knowing. Once again, we never received any complaints from our guests who have enjoyed the heated pool service so far and they were genuinely glad that they had this option with it being consistently recognized as a highly valuable addition to their experience during their stay. We always strive to provide the perfect experience for our guests to ensure a memorable stay in our accommodation. This commitment is reflected in our previous reviews which consistently scored the highest ratings. We would like to sincerely thank all our guests for their support and we look forward to continue hosting our guests with the best service possible during their stay with us.

Verified reviewRowen was a great host. Very accommodating from start to finish. We were offered early check in as staff had finished getting the apartment ready early. Despite being ready sooner, the place was in top condition. Everything was ready and super tidy. Rowen was happy to answer any questions we had and gave recommendations throughout our stay. The apartment itself is beautiful and modern. Very unique design with great facilities such as the panoramic balcony and pool/hot tub! It really made the trip that much more special. High recommended! We stayed as a couple but it is equipped with lots of family friendly essentials like high chair and extra mattresses :)

Verified reviewThe host was super nice, friendly, and responsive, he met us and showed us everything around the house. The house is amazing - the interior is very cute, and the terrace is gorgeous to catch the early sunrises and late sunsets. Also, do not forget about the pool, which is a great opportunity for calm evenings. The location is pretty good if you are coming by car, a lot of free spaces for the parking spots. The place is located 2 2-minute walk from a big grocery store and 10 10-minute walk to the city center, which is pretty good. The place is super calm, spacious, and great for a group of friends, or family. When ever we are coming back, for sure, we would like to stay here again :)
All was good, the only thing - if it is windy, be prepared that on the terrace you will feel cold.

Verified reviewLovely, modern and spacious apartment with breathtaking views and a huge terrace. Well equipped kitchen, friendly host, easy check in and out. Located at the edge of the town but with bus stop, shops and bars nearby, nice 10 min walk to town.
It was a shame that the pool water heater wasn’t operational during our stay so it was too cold to enjoy it and the pool was one of the reasons we booked this place. Hairdryer, washing power and more dishwasher tablets would be a nice addition to have.
