How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIt's a party hostel, so some noise is to be expected. However, the room I stayed in was extremely quiet so I could sleep without any issues. The staff is really friendly and they make you feel really welcomed. Especially the bar crew! Special thanks here to Laura, Amelie, Luca and Pietro ❤️

Everything doesn't work. The refrigerator is broken, the door keys do not open. The light buttons at the beds are broken. Air conditioning is included in time. hot. Not enough dishes. 3 cups for the entire hostel and two spoons. Very dirty in the shower.

This hostel is a happy place where different cultures meet .We offer free tours to all our guests where we explore Maltas hidden gems and experience the best spots of the Maltese Archipelago , together we build memories to last . While we are always wanting to improve we strive daily to satisfy all our guests . Our dedicated house keeping team ensures that all our shared facilities are cleaned at least four times a day. There is not much I liked about the property. It was middle of August and very hot but there was no where to cool down in the hostel during the day as the rooms are only air-conned after 10PM. The rooms were not well maintained and was uncomfortable. The aircon really needs to be on 24/7 given how hot Malta was. Had this been the case it would have been much more enjoyable.

Verified reviewHostel was comfortable and clean with a great location. Terrace for drinks was great and had good deals. Great trips planned, especially the one to Comino.
Quite annoying that the AC isn’t on, and only turns on at night, you had to request for it to be turned on early, and only sometimes they would do turn it on early. I thought there would be pub crawls and other fun activities organised at night (as it was a party hostel), however there was nothing organised.

Aircon was set low and we were only given thin sheets for blankets so heaps of people ended up with dry throats. Not that deep but would’ve been nice to have been given thicker blankets rather than requested them

Verified reviewThe staff was great and super efficient. The location is directly at a bus station were you can buy passes. They organize day trips around Malta and have a party location in the hostel. Additionally it is directly in the party streets of malta. Airport transfer super easy. 20min by bus 3€ and since it is 24h check in, super convenient for late flights
They give only sheets, no proper blanket. At the same time the AC was regulated extremely low. I couldn't sleep because I was freezing all night. Consider packing long pants and a jumper... A group of guys decided to talk infront of the door at 5 in the morning for 30min and then continue their conversation in the dorm for 20min+. After I asked them to be quiet at around 6 in the morning (in their native language) they dismissed me and just continued talking. The other guests tried to be quiet.

It's quite stuffy in the rooms and in the corridors where the rooms are located. The laminate in the room is all swollen, the curtains in the showers need to be replaced, they're dirty and moldy, and there's mold on the ceiling. Overall, the hostel could use some updates.

Verified reviewI like the location since it’s close to the bus stop at Ross. Close to the beach at Balluta and they have their own free excursions too.
The AC turns on at night and you need to tell the receptionist if you want to turn it on daytime. The front door doesn’t work. Anyone can just open the door without the key fob.
