Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineThe room had a separate toilet and a separate bathroom. I have been to this hotel 3 times before, this was the first time I had such a room. You need to check when booking.
Good location, close to the center, but the place is a bit quieter, 5 minutes to the sea. Good breakfasts, nice staff and a bonus - a swimming pool on the roof.

United KingdomThe only thing I didn’t enjoy was the view from my balcony looking onto other hotel balconies but that’s to be expected in a city. It certainly didn’t ruin our time and I would still return.
Very beautiful hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The roof top pool was amazing! Gorgeous views and great sun spot. The food from the restaurant was delicious and highly rated from the whole group. I highly recommend cocktail hour! Try all of them if you can because they are dreamy, Aesthetically pleasing and taste great.

United KingdomThere was jack hammering from 8am in the neighbouring property which we were not informed about - although the hotel cannot do much about this, it should have been disclosed and we should have had something to compensate for it. Even a small gesture like a drink etc. It was so loud that it woke us up and during breakfast we could not hold a conversation. Breakfast - no gluten free options or milk free for those with intolerances. Orange juice was squash and no variety for another choice. The air-con kept switching off after couple of hours, and on our last day the cool option was turned off and only heat/cool option was available. I had to call to reception to ask for cool to be back so we could pack up in a cooler room. Bathroom had issues - water in our room was not going down or slowly going down in the sink and shower too. TV kept freezing up and for couple of days it was not working. Internet - open wifi is not secure enough to use by guests this day and age it is easy to hack someone. We refrained from using wifi altogether. We also found there was plenty of room but no furniture to sit on apart from 1 chair at the desk and one outside the balcony. Sofa or armchair would have been lovely.
Great location to get to Sliema and Valetta even using public transport or Bolt/Uber. Staff were lovely and helpful and very accommodating. Room and bathroom both were spacious and beds were comfortable. Pool was also nice and plenty of space near to chill after checkout with snacks and lunch options from 12. Mini fridge was great nice surprise. Soundproofing was good in our room as we still heard some of the party noise but once the balcony door was closed it was fine.

United Arab EmiratesGreat location within walking distance to the beach. Being in St Julian’s, it’s a lively party area with nearby bars attracting teenagers and tourists, but we didn’t hear any noise from our room. The breakfast spread was decent, and the room was clean, well-maintained, and odor-free. Note: parking is paid.

AustriaReally nice location if you want to be in the middle of all the entertainment options around the hotel or near the language school ESE. Grocery stores are open 24/7, nice restaurants, pubs, ice cream corners (e.g. RIVA RENO offers outstanding delicious ice cream!!!), and bus-stops are within walking distance. Extreme friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Large room, large balcony, large bathroom and a nice pool and pool area on the top floor. Good breakfast including some fresh fruit. We've come here for several times and we always enjoy our stay here a lot.

SwitzerlandThe location: too many buildings one next to the other, but this is probably true of Malta in general: too many big buildings that do not fit with the landscape. I thought of Malta as a beach / summer destination and instead it feels like going to yet another city with traffic, litter pollution from people throwing their plastic bottles and wraps on the street or in the bushes etc… a lot of noise
It is comfortable, the breakfast was quite good and the staff is friendly

United Kingdomit is near a club strip which devalues it a little, there's some lovely areas the other side of it for dinner but it is rowdy and a bit grubby to walk through. Didn't disturb my sleep at all though 😊

South AfricaVery noisy. The rooms have no soundproof, and there were lots of young people drinking and screaming the whole night. The location is good except everything was under construction around the hotel so it was really hard getting out and in with suitcases due to limited access.
Spacious room with amenities. The room was really big.
