How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe loved the pool, great location for getting out and about around the island. It was perfect for two adults and two young children.
It could have been more comfortable, the main bedroom bed was very uncomfortable as was the sofa in the living room. No comfy chairs for the evenings to sit and relax.

Verified reviewProperty was of decent size, and within reach of the airport and Valletta. It was spacious enough for a family of 4, with some outdoor space for relaxation.
Property looked extremely dated and some of the furniture and equipment are in desperate need of replacement. The master bedroom bed was extremely squeaky and uncomfortable. You cannot get in or get out of the bed without waking up the whole household. Hair dryer blew cold air and a table fan made so much noise that I had to turn it off in 2 minutes. En suite bathroom smelt of damp and mould..
While we thanks this guest for his review we would like reply for his comments. The furniture is not dated but traditionally handmade Maltese furniture as it complements the villa design. The easiest thing we can do is replace it with modern furniture, which would ruin the atmosphere we want to offer our guests. The hair dryer would have been replaced if the client informed us during his stay as we have replacements of all the equipment used in the villa. The bed noises and the smell in the ensuite will be investigated as soon as the villa is vacant as we never had these issues reported to us.

Verified reviewVilla could have been cleaner. A heated pool would have been nice. More crockery and cutlery would have been useful.
We would like to thank our guest for their review but we would like to clarify some issues. The guest mentioned that a heated pool is better, our pools are not hearted, and this is stated very clearly in websites, moreover heated pools in Malta are3 not necessary as our summers are very long. Cutlery and Crockery the v8illa serve for eight persons. No need to put more if the villa sleeps a maximum of six. The villa was cleaned the day before and this was checked by our supervisor before check-in, all bed linen is changed and the garden and pool area are cleaned before check- in.

not a lot to dislike apart from location if you don’t have a car 🚗 you will need to get the bus 🚌 to the city centre or the beach 🏖️. but great little villa, and supermarket not far up the road. So if you’re looking for a chilled relaxing stay then this is ideal.

Verified reviewIt’s our 5th visit to Malta but our first to this villa and very difficult to find anything tpositive to say. After expecting so much we were very disappointed.
Generally the villa looked worn and tired. It should be up to the same high standard at the end of the season as the beginning,sadly this was far from the case. It’s in need of a revamp and improvement of the fixtures and fittings. Clients should be aware it’s location on a main, very busy and noisy road from 5-30 to after midnight. Having the owners garage that is situated under the clients bedroom is not the ideal way of being woken in a morning. It’s dated and too rustic. New microwave, washing machine but no relevant instructions. Having decided not to take our own cafeteria then to discover their one cup coffee machine didn’t work because it leaked was disappointing. No key or resetting code for the safe. On suite shower grubby and far too cramped with additional ants nest under shower cubicle didn’t help. Ironing board broken and patio sun shades dirty and broken. Pool cold even on the hottest days and had black mould around the corners. We would neither recommend or return to this villa.
The villa is maintained to high standards during all year round and villa is a typical farmhouse designed and built-in traditional architecture. Regarding instructions for the appliances there is a whole booklet explaining the appliances moreover guests are given the owner’s contact number in case they need to ask questions or need help. These guests never contacted us. The safe does have a code which is given over the phone for security reasons. The ironing board was replaced, and we found it broken after their departure, I'm not saying that these guests broke it. The pool is south-facing, and this is the best possible orientation to locate a pool. All other guests in the adjacent villas used the pools and enjoyed their stay. This client never bothered to contact us to solve any issues when he was in the villa as the issues he mentioned could have been sorted out in a matter of minutes. We live very close to the villas hence we attend to guest issues immediately. We have spare kitchen and household goods to be used in such cases.
