How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room was basically a basement high-humidity Moldy room. After reporting this to management, the have said “we will ask housekeeping to scrub more”. Nothing has been resolved.

The checking in past was horrendous I had no codes to enter the building and then when u called thr 24/7 seevie line i was given a code for a room when I entered the room at 4pm there was a family sleeping in there and then I had to wait for someone to come and check and then find me a room and when enter the room I had been given the AC as off and the room was boiling and when ever I leave the room to come back its dont stay on so the room is allways hot, and also the tv dont work someone come to fix it but its still dont work. Shame

Verified reviewRoom was nice, clean and spacious, bathroom well equipped, we had a small balcony with a nice partial view to the harbour. it was calm day and night, surprisingly as the location is just 1 minute walk to the harbor street with plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping and promenade along the harbor. Walking distances: 10 min to the Ferry to Valletta, 5 min to excursion boats to Gozo and Comino. Silema district is a very good option while visiting Malta.
We really have nothing negative to say. Our room was in 5th floor. Even the daily canon firing at evening was less noisy than in hotels along the harbor and Valletta. The absence of physical reception was surprising at arrival but we were very well supported by telephone and WhatsApp by the administrators.

Regarding the shower pressure - as explained by our Guest Experience Team there was a problem in the street of the boutique guesthouse and there was a 3hr window where our property was also impacted - this was beyond our control. Verified reviewI really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very kind, the area was quiet, and everything was clean. I also appreciated the breakfast, which was more than enough, with coffee and water included. The rooftop pool was a great bonus! The host always replied quickly on WhatsApp and helped me with anything I needed. I definitely recommend this place and would be happy to come back.
The only thing I didn’t like was that the windows in our room couldn’t be fully opened, only tilted, and we didn’t have a view. But maybe this was just for our room, I’m not sure about the others.

The rooftop ‘pool’ is more of a hot tub size than an actual pool, but it was still nice to sunbathe & then cool off in the water.

Verified reviewThe staff were very friendly and couldnt have done more! The bedroom was very welcoming and comfortable with all mod cons! I loved the balcony and the sea view., such a great location! The breakfast and pool were extra touches too!
Why the channels on the tv were all in German and I couldnt seem to get sub titlws on it but thats all.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is really convenient, right next to the Strand and waterside. The rooms are quite small but modern and comfortable. The AC worked great, especially during the 36 degrees heat. The pool area on the rooftop is small but very welcome. The code entry system makes everything quite easy and you don’t need to worry about losing key cards.
Most of the rooms have windows facing this internal „tube” so the natural light is quite limited. Breakfast options are quite basic and it finishes at 09:30 so quite early, but its inclusion is welcome. The lack of on-site staff complicates things a bit, the shower temperature was a bit too „room-like” for my liking but I couldn’t really bother to try and get in touch about this.

The air conditioning is way too much. Its 10 degrees colder than outside. I was sick for a week after my stay. (It also applies for other indoor places in Malta and taxis as well)
