How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewWe are extremely happy that we book this place. It was lovely to stay here. First day we arrived after 12am and the owners makes us feel very welcome. They asked if we are hungry, they were ready to cook us dinner at this late time. Also the first day when we came it was very hot for us but they thought about that and prepared cold water for us which I really appreciate. Thanks for the stay

Verified reviewThe location of this property was perfect. Qala is a quiet, stunning old neighbourhood and the property is a 1 minute walk from the main square containing the bars and restaurants. The hosts were lovely, welcoming and great for a chat. My room was all I needed. A comfortable bed, ensuite, fridge in the room, power adapter for EU and AC for escaping the heat. I didn't end up using the pool but it looked beautiful! I also loved meeting Wendy, the pup of the house.
This place was perfect for a couple of nights, no negative feedback.

Verified reviewMy boyfriend and i had the most amazing vacation in Malta, and it wouldn't be the same without Rene, Paolo and of course their little dog Wendy ,who were the best host you could ask for. Everyday they greated us with the smile on their face and a great recommendation for what to do in Malta and where to eat.It was great to get to know these amazing and witty people.Their beautiful Maltese house made us feel right at home. The house is very near the two bus stations and beautiful village square that has amazing bars and restaurants.Our room was clean and very well equipmt. We had toiletries , air-conditioning, hair dryer,great WiFi and beautiful roof terrace ,and we even had a cold bottle of water in our fridge when we arrived that was very nice after a long travel. We are for sure coming back to Malta, especially back to see Rene and Paolo.
That we didn't stayed a little longer :D

Verified reviewMe and my partner had the best holiday staying here at this beautiful Maltese home where we were made to feel so welcome it was like home away from home. There is everything you could need and more, swimming pool, large roof terrace, balconies, air conditioning, pool room and even a very cute little dog called Wendy. The owners Renee and Paulo are lovely, an absolute pleasure to meet and spend time chatting with, they are very kind and helpful and made our time here extra special. The location couldn't be any better with just a very short walk to the square that comes alive at night with plenty of bars and restaurants. There are also bus stops at the end of the street taking you anywhere you should wish to explore on the island. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place to stay and will definitely be returning here ourselves, we absolutely loved everything about it and were very sad to leave.

Verified reviewI liked the balcony and the pool. Also the staff was friendly. At arrival they gave is a nice pamphlet.
Too many religious artefacts. There could be more investment in details of the property. Bathroom was a bit old. No drinkable water (would have been nice everyday to have fresh water in the fridge).

About the water, we were providing you with a bottle of water every day upon your request even it wasn't included in the price of our services. Even in 5 stars hotels they don't fill your fridge with water everyday free of charge. Best regards.

Verified reviewThe room had very comftable bed and aircondtion also we had acces to the balcony and to a terrace we had a fridge in the room and also a common kitchen where you can make free tea & coffe also a toaster. The host was very nice and we got to taste her home made pizza, easy parking in front of the property definitely go again

No working power socket in room for charging phones and the like. Small shower and WC with very small basin and just about no room to put toiletries. Breakfast ample but little choice. No sign of swimming pool (perhaps it was closed)

Verified reviewRenee and Paulo where amazing hosts and they have the best host dog Wendy🐕. They've been very helpful and careing and very nice to talk too. Breakfast was always fresh and very tasty(Renee is a great cook😊). House is very nice and clean and full of history. Bus station, D bar restaurant (very good, try grilled salmon) and store are less than 4 min walk. We defenetly recomeend to stay there and enjoy seeing Gozo and Malta🌊

I don't like only one thing the pool needs to be cleaned and a big refurbishment you can't let your dog swim in the pool and don't clean it before someone else use it

Just so you know, we never let our dog swim in the poo,l first for hygiene reasons for our guests, second he is afraid of water.
