How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The kitchen is shared and the facilities to hang washing is by the pool for everyone to see including when they do bed changes and wash the linen they leave it on the pool side drying. The ensuite is a little like a porta cabin in your room but at least it’s private facilities. I’d just say don’t expect much from this accommodation. It’s on a noisy junction and not the best part of town. The pool was filthy when we arrived and I had to contact the manager to complain to which I was told it’s Sunday and no one can come to sort it till Monday which was annoying as our only planned pool day was our arrival day! There are 4 rooms that share the facilities which feels a little like being back at uni. We went out for full days and ate out every evening so it didn’t affect us. But this should be made clearer in the booking description.

The bathroom was just an aluminium cubicle in a room with a small shower not siutable for a quadruple room ie with 4 guests

Verified reviewLocation- walking distance to Victoria. Quiet. Spacious room. Well equipped kitchen and big dining area as well as an outdoor pool and seating area. Never met the owner or staff in person, but had a good written communication. Self check in. Was able to check out a little bit later. Affordable.
Weak wifi- had to use my own from time to time. Terrible shower and toilet in the room, so tiny. Felt like sitting/ showering in a glass cube. Very weak shower pressure when using hot water and almost non existing pressure for cold water. Flies in the room. Was informed that standard bed configuration was a big double and that's what I wanted. But instead I received two singles, put together.

Often, heard vehicles from this location, even at night. My girlfriend couldn't sleep very well as a result. (But I slept fine) Also the flushing wasn't working in the bathroom

Verified reviewThe hospitality staff, Vittoria was amazing. There were guide books at our disposal and she personally recommended sites to see as well as places to eat. She speaks Italian and English. The B & B is clean, fresh sheets and towels, decent (tie you over) breakfast.
The communication was remiss. I didn't get my entry code after confirmation and I was standing outside of the B & B for almost an hour, with a dying phone, no wi-fi, and spotty to no cell service. The clincher, I was NOT told that I had no bathroom in my single room and the "view" from my balcony was horrid- a repair/service yard for commercial vehicles. Inconvenient having to go downstairs to use bathroom at night, but bathroom was clean, towels clean, no soaps (luckily I brought my own shower stuff). Oh and toilet barely flushed- stressor doing #2! Communication should be better! Like an immediate WhatsApp message with the ENTRY CODE the morning of my arrival would've been good.
