Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAmazing boutique hotel managed by a family who has renovated this historical building (with taste. (husband is an architect). Everything to love: small and quiet, beautiful amenities, recent renovations with pristine rooms on an inner courtyard (and great aircon for summer!). The location is perfect to visit Rabat and Mdina walking with plenty of options for food and cafe. I cherish our stay and hope to have the opportunity to come again.

We had a wonderful stay! The room exceeded all expectations. Beautifully decorated, lovely pillows and bed, towels and bathrobe. We also received fresh fruit, cookies and water every day. We felt so comfortable, really everything was provided. The Hostess was also sublime. So friendly, helpful and polite. We looked forward to seeing her every day for a short chat. She also had all kinds of tips. We are definitely going to miss her and the accommodation!

United KingdomThe property was perfect was us however if you were looking for a pool or a bar area then it might not be for you. We were spoiled for choice for bars and restaurants in Rabat and Medina.
Lovely old building, refurbished to a very high standard. Super location in quaint village, right in the heart of Rabat. Five minute walk through the village streets, past restaurants and cafes, to Medina. Catching the bus to anywhere else on the island couldn’t be easier, the bus stops are located right at the end of the Main Street in Rabat, in front of Howard gardens.

United KingdomBeautiful hotel converted with care and attention from an historical building. Great location within easy walking distance of the main sights of Rabat and Mdina. Immaculately clean, quiet and extremely comfortable (probably the best hotel bed and pillows we have experienced!). Our room was accessed by its own staircase off the shared inner courtyard, and even had its own small sitting area outside the room. The owner was lovely and breakfast was delicious!

NetherlandsThe only downside for us was that the bed was really really warm, which we had to get used to for a few nights before we could sleep comfortably. But the airco also helped with that.

United KingdomI never quite managed to master the air conditioning!
Every aspect of the hotel was carefully and thoughtfully designed. The room was spacious and immaculate, and had unique features, such as bespoke bathroom fittings. The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette was a nice touch, providing somewhere to keep water cool and homemade biscuits appeared everyday. We were in Room 8 on the top floor and had a balcony looking out over the small square at the front of the property. The owner was really friendly and helpful and provided recommendations about where to go. The hotel is centrally located in Rabat and we were able to walk to all the restaurants, bars, and visitor attractions in 10 minutes or less. A lovely, calm place to stay.

AustraliaWe had a room on the ground floor level and while it opened off a light-filled central atrium, it did not have any windows. The door was glass, with louvred blinds and a block out blind for privacy, but as it was directly in front of the bed, we rarely opened them. The room lighting was very good, but didn't really make up for the lack of daylight in the room. If this is an issue for you, perhaps ask for a room on a higher level. We definitely will on our next visit.
The Heritage Boutique Accommodation is a beautifully restored and updated property in the old town area of Rabat. The location is a 10min walk to Mdina, close to cafes and restaurants and public transport. The hotel staff are very helpful and take excellent care of their guests. Our room was lovely, with lots of attention to detail in the fittings and furnishings and lots of discreet modern touches, such as sensor activated lighting and climate control that really upped the comfort level. We would definitely return.
