How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

One of the beds was broken and one of the toilets didn't work. We contacted the owner about the toilet. He/she responded quite fast. However, the owner told us there was an issue with a family member so he/she couldn't solve the toilet. For some it was fine, for others, it was not.

Verified reviewAccomodation was in very good location, especially beach just 200m away, a lot of shops and restaurants nearby, also not far away for day trips around Malta and Gozo Islands. The owner answered fast to any question we had. It's big enough for 3 people, don't forget that you will sleep all in one room. The kitchen hat pots, pans, plates etc. but no basic ingredients like salt or oil.
Upon arrival we noticed very bad smell from the bathrooms, it was very humid inside the flat, so in few places on the walls the was mold. We resolved it with booking.com customer service because the owner said he doesn't know about anything, even though it was obvious, so they resolved it and sent a cleaning service to take care of it. After that it was much better. The beds and towels were clean, but not very white. All in all it was good accomodation for the price, but no matter what the price point is, there shouldn't be mold.

Verified reviewThe location of the apartment is close to the beach, close to the bus stop. There are also grocery stores nearby. The apartment is big enough for three guests. There are two bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. The living room has a smart TV with internet connection. The apartment is clean and very well and tastefully decorated.

Verified reviewThe appartment very well located. Near to the main square were we can find bus stop. Appartment is spacious.
It is impossible to air the appartment. It felt musty all the time. There is mold on the walls in the bathroom. The host was very rude. We asked about additional roll of toilet paper (there was only one and a half for two people for 10 days) he wrote back we should buy it ourselves.
Dear Joanna, Ah, what a throwback to the golden days when 12.5 EUR per person a night meant luxury and endless supplies! But alas, here we are in the present where such a bargain gets you a spacious apartment with a super equipped kitchen, Egyptian cotton towels, first-class bedding, air conditioning, 2 bathrooms, 1 minute away from the beach, 2 beds and 2 rolls of toilet paper to start you off! 😅We provided the "basics" to get you on your feet; after that, it's all part of the grand adventure of life! On a more serious note, we are immediately looking into the ventilation issues you've reported to ensure that the apartment receives adequate airflow, however, you could have opened the windows and doors I guess, and we'll be checking for any mold you had mentioned. While we pride ourselves on providing a value-for-money experience, it seems we may have missed the mark on your expectations for modern comforts. We intended those initial provisions to be a courteous nudge into the world of self-sufficiency – a hallmark of the seasoned traveler! Verified reviewGreat location: bus stop, shops, and beach are all just a couple of minutes away from the accommodation. The room is spacious and clean, with a very nice terrace. We stayed for 10 days and had everything we needed in the room and in the kitchen. Our flight was in the evening, and the host was very nice to let us stay in the accommodation well beyond the official check-out time.

There is no terrace that is mentioned in the description, balcony upstairs is really small and there is no sea view despite being very close to it. We stayed in unit 1 (orange theme on pics) that is not mentioned during booking and is ground floor apartment, so very limited view of the sky and surroundings with currently closed building site across the narrow street. Also severe mold issue in the upstairs bathroom.

Verified reviewThe bedroom is super comfortable and cozy, with a soft, plush bed comforter that made for a great night's sleep. The bathroom is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of fresh towels and toiletries provided. We spent our days lounging at the terrace, bbqs, wine and just a good time! Plenty of restaurants only 3 minutes away by walk and close to a lot of amenities. Super close to : Pretty Bay, Marsaxlokk Bay, Delimara, St. Peter's Pool Overall, I would highly recommend this beach apartment to anyone looking for a relaxing and cultural gateway in the South of Malta - you get a feel of the local culture. The attention to detail and the exceptional service provided by the staff made this an unforgettable experience that I hope to repeat again and again.

Verified reviewI recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely apartment near Pretty Bay beach and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the bright and airy feel of the space! The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated with such a cute beachy vibe that perfectly complements its surroundings! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook meals and there is plenty of space to sit and dine. The living room is cozy and comfortable, with a large TV and a comfortable sofa. I loved the terrace!!! - Wine, BBQ and watching the beautiful lights of the free port! *chef's kiss* Super highlight of this apartment is its location. It is just a short walk from the beach, so I was able to enjoy the sun, sand and super close to a lot of gorgeous sites - Ghar Dalam, Marsaxlokk Village, Wied Iz-Zurrieq and Village of Birzebbugia. The area is also filled with great restaurants, cafes. Would recommend shopping around the local greengrocer (2 mins away from the apartment) and cute bakeries! Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable beach getaway. The host is always a call or message away!

Dear Adrian, we are really sorry that we did not match your expectations. I do not understand the reason behind putting all the comments on the negative side. First, you said there was no toilet paper ...then you said you found but was not enough for 14 days, (quite contradicting I think) I remember putting 8 rolls...It should be kept in mind that this is a self-service apartment, we always offer a starting kit, grocers and markets are within a few seconds away, and should you need extra items they could always be purchased at 1eur 50c per packet and won't break your bank! (the same argument holds for the black rubbish and recycling bags) Regarding the plates, we understand that plates break even though they are of the best quality, however, had you advised I would have sent you a replacement immediately. Regarding the black grit, I will advise the cleaners, and rest assured it won't happen again. Regarding the dust that may have accumulated during your 14 days it is expected that dust will settle in 14 days however there was the option to call for a cleaner at a minimal charge. Labour does not come free these days. The loose shower door we will look into it asap. The bedroom door locks from the inside by turning the lock. I do not see the reason why one would lock the bedroom from the outside in a single-bedroom apartment. When traveling in a group, I suggest that if you are not very close and trust each other like family you should opt for a hotel, not a self-service apartment. The main fuse box should be left unlocked in case of emergency and is usually placed near the main door I don't know where it is expected to be! The fire extinguishers are looked into every month to check whether the seal is broken or the handle is loose and if not after five years it will be taken to the supplier for a test and maintenance their next test is scheduled for the next September. Considering the money you spent per person per night was not value for money, I really don't know what is! One final note, this guy was very busy noting every minutest detail, which we appreciate and consider as constructive criticism, however, he managed to forget two things ...Leaving the keys in the key safe for the cleaners to find after checking out and forgetting to leave the environmental tax on the table. And awarding us a 4, in my opinion, is not just and true. regards Manuel

Didn't appear to be a cleaner and bedding didn't get changed in the period we were there.
We make sure that the place is cleaned prior to your arrival, however, no cleaner is provided once the guest checks in, however, should a guest request a cleaner during their stay we are committed to provide one at the guest's expense. In the past 10 years we never had a single such request :)

It was hard to find on Google maps and on the street without the exact address which is only given once you’ve booked. Could’ve done with some soap in the bathrooms.
