Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe had an absolutely amazing stay at Penthouse Yellow Hill! The pictures on Booking.com only showed half of how incredible it really is in person – the views, the space, and the atmosphere were beyond our expectations. Our host Jason was extremely helpful, giving us great tips for restaurants and local attractions that made our trip even more special. One piece of advice for future guests: download the Bolt app. For just a few euros, you can easily get anywhere you want to go. Highly recommended – we would definitely stay here again!

United KingdomJason is a fantastic host! The penthouse is absolutely amazing – incredibly spacious and perfect for a family. Everything was spotless on arrival, and the outside space is just incredible. The pool is ideal for cooling down in the warm weather, and the views from it are simply stunning. The location is perfect, within walking distance to a small supermarket and several restaurants, so you can easily pick up essentials or enjoy a nice meal out. If you have a rental car, it’s also a great base to explore all that Gozo has to offer. We had the most wonderful time here and truly wished we could have stayed longer. The children absolutely loved the pool and could have spent all day in it. They also enjoyed the spacious, modern flat and the fantastic outdoor area. Thank you, Jason, for being such a great host and for providing such a beautiful place to stay.

United KingdomAt times the roadside parking can be tricky to find a space.
Jason is a brilliant host and his penthouse apartment is perfect. It is very large, so lots of space for a family and absolutely spotless. The roof pool is small but fabulous with great views of the sea and perfect for cooling off with a glass of delicious local wine. The apartment has loads of outdoor space with terraces at the front, rear and roof. The rooms are all a good size and all have Aircon, which was essential in August. The apartment is a short walk to the bay in Masalforn which feels very welcoming of families and safe. The town has plenty of options for restaurants and bars and everyone speaks English if that is important to you. We travelled around the island for snorkeling expeditions as a family. The waters are crystal clear with plenty of sea life to see. If diving is of interest to you, there are lots of options in the town and around the island. Travel from Malta is very easy as the ferries are very efficient, just be aware if driving that roads are often quite narrow on Gozo. We had a wonderful holiday and Jason could not have been more helpful and accommodating from start to finish! We hope to return to this beautiful apartment.

United KingdomNothing - we couldn't fault the apartment
Jason the owner, was great with communicating with us before arrival and on the day via WhatsApp, so it was very easy to get into the apartment. The apartment is really lovely and newly renovated. The pool on the roof was great, and it is a real oasis in Marsalorn with great views. Nice and spacious and super clean. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Yellow Hill Penthouse is a lovely property that was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The views from all terraces were wonderful and the private rooftop pool was very relaxing. Terraces allowed you to choose between sun and shade. Marsalforn harbour was a 10 minute walk with a good variety of restaurants/ bars and local shops around 5-10 minutes away. Bus stop to Victoria only a short walk and easy to book Uber /Bolt. Jason was very accomodating and we look forward to returning in the future.

United KingdomThis is a newly refurbished apartment block on the edge of the town. Communication with teh owner was very easy. We called when we were on the ferry and Jason's wife was waiting at the aprartment with the keys and to show us around. The apartment looks brand new and was luxuriously appointed with every mod con. There was a lift. The outside areas are superb but unfortunately we didn't use them that much as the weather was intermittantly poor when we were there (it was November!) and when it wasnt we were off exploring Gozo. When it was raining the aprtment was a very confortable place to relax in. The photos are all accurate and possibly undersell the apartment. Restaurants and supermarkets were all a relatively short walk away and walking at night always felt safe. Be aware that Google often said restaurants were open when they were in fact closed (it was the off season) but there were enough good restaurants open for this not to be a problem. Parking was fine and we never had any problems finding a spot but occasionaly it was down the street rather than just adjacent to the apartmnet (but this really is a first world problem!). Overall a great apartment and very easy check in and check out.

United KingdomWe should have stayed longer. 3 nights is not enough to do Gozo justice.
This apartment is so much better and bigger than the photos. There are 2 spacious balconies (both with tables and chairs) as well as a large roof terrace with sun loungers and the pool. The views are great from all of them. Everything is new and comfortable and the kitchen has all the equipment needed to cook a full meal. There are plenty of towels, hand soap and toilet paper. The air conditioning is excellent in the bedrooms and living space, although we rarely needed it as we could have the doors open and fly screens shut. The beach and town is a 5 minute walk downhill and the bus stop is nearer. Jason was always available on WhatsApp and able to give us local information and recommendations. I would like to say a special thank you to him for kindly making a detour to return my phone charger, which I left in the apartment. I would whole heartedly recommend this place. It is one of the largest and most luxurious luxurious apartments we have stayed in.

United KingdomWow - Jason’s place is stunning. He has thought of everything. The Penthouse is super clean and the views are incredible to the Yellow Hill and of Marlsaforn. The house is equipped with everything you’d need for cooking and the terrace outside the kitchen is a great spot for breakfast and the lighting at night makes it beautiful for an evening sundowner. The roof terrace will take your breath away - completely private and with the pool and sun loungers for your own use. All this with views to the hilltop town of Zeebugg. I was here in temperatures of 33 and the cooling rooftop breeze and pool were so welcome. The whole place is even more incredible than the amazing photos and the quality of build and design have to be seen in person. The beds are so comfortable, top quality air conditioning and immaculate bathrooms with jet/rain shower. All of this leads to an experience of complete relaxation and restoration. It really is a luxurious treat. I walked down into Marlsaforn - an easy 5-10 min walk (gently sloping on walk back) and met several welcoming local people. It’s a lovely town and a good selection of cafes and restaurants along the seafront. Make sure you try Gozo’s prickly pear liqueur 😊 You can also hire jet skis and other water sports facilities available here too. The bus service is also very good to Victoria (Rabat). I only spent two nights on this beautiful island but I will be back to explore more. The Gozitans are a wonderfully warm and welcoming people. Jason was spot on with all his communication and helped take stress out of me having to delay travel by a day. Don’t hesitate booking Jason’s place - you will not be disappointed - can’t wait to return 🤣 Thank you Jason for the care and detail you have put in to your outstandingly gorgeous property.

United KingdomWe stayed at Yellow Hill Penthouse in July 2024 and we absolutely loved it. The pictures do not do this place justice. The apartment itself is finished to an amazing standard with everything you could need provided. The beds are comfortable, it's really spacious, and the aircon works really well (thankfully). What makes this place really special is the outside space. The balcony alone has a stunning view of Yellow Hill, Xwenji Bay and Marsalforn Bay. You can admire it from the lounge and breakfast bar as well, and it's a great backdrop for a drink and a bite to eat in the evening. Up the stairs is the rooftop sun terrace and pool, which is the jewel in this place's crown. We absolutely loved it up there. We're a family of five with a 16-year-old, a 10-year-old and a 2-year-old and honestly I think our happiest memories from our holiday will be the time we spent up in the pool. The fact the rooftop is entirely private, with no-one overlooking you makes it such a nice environment, but you also get stunning 360 degree panoramic views of the entire area. It really is a stunning backdrop. Jason, the apartment owner, was really friendly, helpful and responsive before and during our trip. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. We loved it, and would definitely hire it again in future! In addition, we loved Marsalforn. It's a really chilled out, friendly town with some great places to eat and not too touristy, even when we were there in July. If you're heading there, you won't be disappointed if you book Yellow Hill.

I absolutely love this apartment for numerous reasons. The views are nothing short of spectacular. The decor is thoughtfully curated, combining elegance with comfort in a way that makes the space feel both luxurious and welcoming. Privacy is paramount here, allowing us to enjoy our time without any disturbances. The highlight, however, is the private rooftop pool, offering a serene oasis to unwind and enjoy the panoramic scenery. Overall, this apartment perfectly balances style, convenience, and exclusivity.
