It was a little difficult on arrival as neither I nor my taxi driver could see where in the building the apartment must be. We eventually managed to call Doovan and he came downstairs to meet me and help with my luggage.

Excellent accommodation in a terrific location in Grand Baie. Great sea views and sunset views. Close to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets, etc. I was traveling solo, so the apartment was way too big for me, but it was lovely to have umpteen places to sit and to watch the world go by from the balconies. The kitchen was well-equipped, and it was a bonus to have a washing machine as that's a rare occurrence when I'm travelling. The wifi and Smart TV worked well. Doovan was helpful via WhatsApp when I had questions, as was the owner when I decided I'd like to extend my stay. I extended several times as I liked the location so much.

This property has such beautiful typical Mauritian decor, full of charm and character. It really captures the island’s spirit and made the stay feel special and authentic. Absolutely exceptional stay! The property is perfectly located right on the beachfront in the heart of Grand Baie, with stunning ocean views that you can enjoy from sunrise to sunset. The apartment was spotless, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated - a true home away from home. Everything is within walking distance - restaurants, shops, cafes, and water activities - yet the property still feels peaceful and private. The staff were warm, responsive, and made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying breakfast on the terrace with a view of the turquoise lagoon was simply unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better base in Mauritius. Highly recommended - we’ll definitely be back!

The property has a major handicap that it is in a commercial space where most of the shops are permanently closed. the shops which are open lock the gates to two main entrances at around 7 pm so that it doesnt becomes a thorough fare for other people. However, if you reach the property after 7 pm; you would have to unlock the backdoor gate and then gain entry. the climb to your penthouse is spooky since practically you are the only guest in the entire building which now looks like a haunted space. There is one Chinese/East Asian Nationality lady who stays on the top floor but that is also not a comforting given the overall scenario i explained. The property owner is least interested in solving the problems. Two bidets and safety locker shown during booking were non functional. Using paper every day after using toilet caused hygiene issues and abraisons on private parts. property owner agreed to fix it but never came to fix it. Checkin is also problematic since the owner stays almost half an hour away. we were supposed to checkin on 2nd june but flight got delayed and reacehd on 3rd june. had informed the owner that i will reach by 8-9 am on 3rd june but still the owner came late and only after multiple calls

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning seafront property, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, which made every morning feel like a serene escape. The gentle sea breeze and peaceful atmosphere created an oasis of relaxation. The host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The place is at best "run down", or putting it another way, in need of some serious renovation. i.e. Some of the internal locks didn't work, aircon in the lounge was woeful and no remote for the aircon in the front room. Of the two bathrooms, the shower by the rear bedroom was unusable as the stained shower tray was both cracked & it overflowed during use. NB. I reported this to our host the day after we arrived but it took him 4 days to respond to my message. To be fair when he did answer he said he'd have a look the next day but as this was just before we vacated I told him not to bother. I also mentioned "a few other issues" but as he'd never answered or returned, they were never itemised. The place was pretty grubby and in need of a damn good clean. There is also a concrete beam across the floor between the lounge and the front room that protrudes several inches and has razor sharp edges so is a health and safety hazard. Both my son & I are trained in risk assessing and this would never pass UK safety standards. What's more, my son lacerated his toe (see photos below); thank God he never fractured it. Also, as I am coming up for 70 and a tad dodgy on my pins, I consider myself fortunate that I never fell over it either and we fear someone could eventually have a nasty accident. There were quite a few other issues as well. e.g. The fridge wasn't working properly but we managed to re-attach the loose seal, we were left only 2 small towels for the week, and whilst the beds had a bedsheet across there was no bed linen so we had to sleep under a couple of soiled uncovered duvets we found in a cupboard. I rarely compose any damning reviews and post them after the event, preferring to deal with issues locally as they occur but given the lack of communications, I have no choice & will be taking this up with Booking.com upon our return.

The apartment is indeed located on the seafront overlooking the beach at Grand Baie which is in itself a fairly busy area. The apartment also had two rooms and two bathrooms as described, a small kitchen area with a fridge (that my son had to repair) and a lounge, balcony and other room at the front. Security was good as there was a double door each with a lock, plus the place is somewhat bizarrely, situated on the top floor of a small shopping mall. The air conditioning thankfully worked in the two bedrooms, and one of the showers was at least useable.

What a view! Absolutely great. Very good property and amazing sea views especially for such a good price. Would probably need to pay 10 or 20 times more for such a central location in front of the beach in other places and every facility at your fingertips. Value for money for sure and clean property with quintessential authentic Mauritian decor. Loved our stay and will come back again.

Super nice penthouse with great views of the ocean. You are super central and everything is within walking distance. Clean place with a kitchen which has all ustensils and amenities you will need. You can just sit on the balcony or your bed or the dining area and admire the clean blue sea in front of you. It feels like we were in heaven. Super good value also for such a seafront property!

Absolutely lovely holidays staying in this property right in front of the beach! We had the greatest time here. Super spacious apartment with all rooms having so much space. The property has so much character and the best of it all - it is right in the middle of Grand Baie with a beautiful sandy beach and the bluest clearest water of the sea in front of you. What delightful views to wake up to everyday. We absolutely loved it and will come back again and again. You won't get such a good price anywhere in Mauritius for such a greatly located apartment!!!

Excellent penthouse with beautiful sea view from your bedroom and living room right in front of you. You can almost touch the sea. Very clean and in the centre of Grand Baie. Love the hosts. Traditional Mauritian decor to the apartment. We love it!

the apartment was not as described on your website. it said it was on the beachfront and only four yards from the beach. which is not true. its on top of shopping center plus there is a major road which is very busy during the day and a public car park before you reach the beach, which is also tour boats harbor site.   the apartment: Kitchen-draws and cupboard were sticky and dirty, more details are in the photos and videos. Bedroom- Two single beds made into " double" mattress was dirty, there was thin mattress protector and not clean, and a bed sheet on the top, no other linen on the bed. In the hallway cupboard there was some linen , however they smelled of body odour. The Owners dad was very dismissive about all our concerns that we had raised and kept saying no-one has complained, he said " people don’t stay in the apartment they are out all the time". The Bathroom- toilet & hand sink ,shower tray and shelves. We had to go to the supermarket and buy bleach, my wife cleaned what we needed to use.   we picked this place because Its our 38 year wedding anniversary and wanting this holiday to be memorable but instead its been a nightmare, My wife has been so upset and unable to cope with the way our problem has been dealt with. Yesterday 6/2/24 we stayed in all day waiting for the owner, but the manager came and he came out to be the owners dad and we were informed that the owner works and lives in UK. when we raised our concerns The manager (dad) said the apartment was cleaned by professionals , when My wife said that we wanted our money back because of his dismissive attitude  he said " if we don’t give you the money will you stay".   on 07/02/2024 i had decided to check out of this apartment and find somewhere else to stay, because i cannot see my wife upset like this.

Absolutely fabulous! All what you need for a perfect break within a central and picturesque location right on the beach. I really love the green, cleanliness and eco friendly aspect of this penthouse. I love the culture especially all Mauritian delicacies right down at your doorsteps and if you favour global cuisines all restaurants are within walking distances. A real gem! Thanks to the host as well who has been very helpful.
