Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe advertisement and photos on Booking gave us a different idea than the reality. For example, we had different expectations of the breakfast, and it gave us the idea that yoga classes were better accessible (instead of €50 per class). Price-quality value not wow because of this.
Every day cleaning of the room. Easy to rent a scooter. Nice room. Places in the garden to chill.

United KingdomLovely Guesthouse! We stayed here for a week and had a fantastic time. The room was spacious enough for both of us and came equipped with air conditioning, a smart TV, and a small kitchen — everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is peaceful, and the garden is absolutely beautiful, often filled with colorful birds. The owner was very friendly and gave us great tips for exploring the island. It’s within walking distance of Pereybere Beach and close to several restaurants. We highly recommend this accommodation!

Czech RepublicBleu de Toi Boutique Hotel has a wonderful atmosphere set in the lush surroundings of a tropical garden. The owner/manager is truly dedicated to making guests feel welcome and comfortable – she was present from the moment we arrived until our departure, which speaks volumes about the level of care provided. You can feel that guest satisfaction is a true priority for the entire team. The hotel is located just a 10-minute walk from the public beach, which makes it a great base for beach lovers looking to explore the area on foot. The hotel offers a continental breakfast that includes fresh fruits, cheese, ham, pancakes, eggs prepared on request by the chef, buttered bread, and some sweet options. Coffee, tea, and juice are also available. The breakfast is more than sufficient, although for a longer stay it may feel a bit repetitive. The saltwater swimming pool in the garden is a real gem, and beach towels are available. The garden itself becomes especially magical at night – peaceful and beautifully lit, creating a truly relaxing ambiance. We had booked a room with a kitchenette and terrace. While the room was comfortable enough for sleeping, it felt a bit smaller and less equipped than expected based on the description. There’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to the furnishings and amenities in these particular rooms. Overall, it’s a lovely place with a lot of charm, ideal for a peaceful holiday surrounded by nature, warm hospitality, and within walking distance to the beach.

United KingdomOn arrival at Bleu de Toi you immediately feel calm and relaxed. The owner has created an idyllic space in nature for you to chill out. All the staff (without exception) were warm and friendly and eager to help. The hotel also has a lovely pool area with towels provided. Just a short walk to beaches and restaurants. You should go there!

BelgiumNothing except I am glad there was music and they had a good sound system but sometimes at night or in the afternoon I would have preferred there to be no music.
It really felt like a home away from home. The common areas/breakfast area was very welcoming. The garden was well taken care of and very cosy. It was also close to some very good restaurants (the host knows whats good) which were recommended by the owner. The room was great. Comfortable bed and modern but still unique. Not a standard room in a big resort. A fantastic stop for two or three days depending on what your plans are one the island ;) Would definitely be on my list if I were to holiday in Mauritius again.

United KingdomOur ground floor room was very convenient for access to the garden and there was a good choice for breakfast every day. Dimitri and John were especially helpful when we were both unwell on one day. We didn't try the pool but it looked clean and well maintained.

BelgiumThe tropical garden is gorgeous and well maintained but, there could be a littlemore attention to the lounge areas and swimming pool in the afternoon (removing fallen leafs would only take a small effort).
On arrival we were met by the lovely staff with a welcome drink and some bites. Beautiful grounds (tropical garden) with swimming pool and lounge areas. Spacious room with airco, smart tv, fridge and coffee/tea facilities. The town and beach are close by (10 minutes walk). Generous breakfast buffet with a lot of choice and eggs cooked to order. Special thanks to Steeve for his great service and smile every morning. During breakfast you can spot the birds in the garden. Also many thanks to Dimitri and John for all the advice they geve on were to eat and things to do and for arranging transport for us. Tip: a drinks hour for guests in the afternoon with a wine/beer/softdrink and snack would make the the stay exceptional ;-)

IndiaThe plumbing maintenance in our washroom that started shortly after our arrival was quite inconvenient, especially after our 24-hour journey to the hotel. Given that we had booked well in advance, we wish this issue had been resolved before we arrived.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Bleu de Toi Mauritius Resort for 7 days, and it was a truly delightful experience. The property is beautifully managed by John and Dimitri, and while we mostly interacted with Dimitri, he made our stay exceptional. Dimitri was incredibly helpful, assisting us in planning our activities and even connecting us with a reliable agent for booking excursions. His local knowledge and friendly demeanor made our trip smooth and enjoyable. The resort itself is lovely, with well-maintained rooms that match the images on the website. Although we didn't capture photos of our room, the cleanliness and comfort exceeded our expectations. Each morning, we were treated to a fulfilling breakfast, complete with a wide range of fresh juices and fruits—perfect for starting our day. The entire staff at Bleu de Toi was friendly and always ready to assist, but a special mention goes to Steve, whose attentiveness and warm hospitality stood out. The atmosphere at the resort is serene, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway. We highly recommend Bleu de Toi for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-managed place to stay in Mauritius. Our week there was nothing short of wonderful, and we look forward to returning someday.

United KingdomOur large ground floor room had air conditioning, a large comfortable bed and a powerful hot shower. It had an additional door to the garden which was handy for going to the pool and patio area. We usually had the poolside area to ourselves. We enjoyed relaxing on the terrace with our tea or wine/beer which you can purchase 24hrs from the cooler (honesty box). All the garden area was nicely shaded and well lit at night as well as the poolside area. It was nice to watch the birds while eating breakfast on the terrace. There was a nice selection of fruits with our breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us good advice about things to see and do and restaurant recommendations which proved to be very good. Our room was kept nice and tidy throughout our stay (6 nights) and and she helped us dry our wet beachwear. The guesthouse location was quiet, being away from the main road and had its own parking area. An easy walk to Pereybere beach and restaurants.

JerseyUnfortunately for me, mosquitos are attracted to me! The lush gardens attract them. At around 4pm, I had to leave the pool area because of mosquitos. It wasn't a problem, I just applied deet and the lovely security guard burned mosquitos coils. There is nothing the guesthouse can do about this and it's not a negative point. Just a fact about a tropical country. Would still return on our next visit.
The quiet location, set off the main road, was perfect. Close to grand baie but also 5 minutes to lovely pereybere beach. Some lovely little local restaurants on the main road. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool and gardens are the highlight. Tropical gardens and so peaceful. You can book a massage at the spa which was fantastic! Breakfast is very good, lots of beautiful fresh fruit and choice of eggs and bacon, pancakes and toast. The honesty bar is a nice touch. But the staff make this place. Judy was delightful and chatted every morning, making sure every guest felt welcomed. She is a credit to the guesthouse. However, all the staff were friendly, from the managers to the security guards. Staying in a small guest house gives you the opportunity to mix with local people and feel as if you are in a Mauritian home. Highly recommended.
