Beautiful villa, perfect for a relaxing stay

Only suggestions for improvement would be that the air-con in the bedrooms are fantastic but as there isn't aircon in the living space, it can get pretty warm in there.

Our stay at Blue Palm Villa was excellent and the property was truly beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Mauritius staying at this villa and would definitely recommend hiring a car for your time here as you will want to explore the island and will need it to get to the restaurants and beaches in the area. The pool area at the villa was really well kept and it felt a real luxury to have such a lovely pool to ourselves. The little added extras from Luana were great, including the wine and beers left for us in the fridge and we made use of the bean-to-cup coffee machine every single morning - thank you! We found it really easy to relax and switch off here as it was so peaceful and quiet, something you may not experience as much at a hotel. All in all we had a really great stay and would recommend anyone to stay at Blue Palm Villa!

A hidden gem, but needs more polishing

Our view is of a two week stay. - Power cuts are frequent on the island, but no candles or torches are provided. More importantly, there is no backup generator, so one night we were without running water for over five hours. - No aircon in the living area or a way to block the sun, so it was very hot in the day. There is a fan which does help though. - Pool is too warm, not refreshing in humid, 30c weather. Needs a cooling or aeration system. We barely used it as a result :( - The bathroom sinks are on an 'island', so there is no mirror for shaving. And dim bathroom lighting is great for setting the mood in a spa, but not very useful if you're actually trying to clean/shave yourself! - A stack of white, hotel quality towels should be provided in each bathroom, rather than the blue towels which shed fluff all over you after use. - Kitchen isn't that well equipped if you want to cook family meals easily. Blunt knives, worn out pots and pans, no bowls, no teaspoons, one ring on the stove doesn't work properly, no dishwasher. - We had to clean the washing machine, as it was dirty. Laundry detergent would have been nice. - A fold up clothes airer would be a thoughtful addition to make drying clothes easier. - A BBQ/grill in the garden would be a great addition. - The villa has potential to be superb, but it needs more attention to detail.

    - The host, Luana, was lovely and very accommodating. We get the sense she cares about her guests. - Beautiful, spacious and peaceful property, which used to be a private spa. - Perfect location, a short drive from Grand Bay and various beaches, but without the noise - Very comfortable beds, slept very well - Aircon in bedrooms worked well - Large, comfortable sofas - WiFi just about good enough for video calls and streaming
