United KingdomThe mainatenance and basic structure of the chalets was less impressive; plugs in washbasins don't work; internet is patchy, lost altogether when the power went off on one ring circuit; cold and damp when we had rainy weather; no hand towels; no heated towel rail so impossible to dry clothes/towels unless the sun is shining!
The restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent. First rate food served with charm and great attention. The manager of the chalets, Dalida was also excellent, solving problems and going the extra mile.

FranceThe access road is manageable by small cars (concrete tracks ensure there is enough grip even in wet weather) , however it is very badly broken up, requires very precise and careful driving, and is highly inadvisable at night. The reservation department should really have advised me of this as soon as I told them that I planned to arrive after sunset, but they didn't. For the same reason, guests are pretty much forced to have dinner every night in the hotel restaurant, which is OK but not quite at the same level as the rooms and facilities.
Sensational location, This is a really unique place, on a ridge with great views on both sides. The bungalows are beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Very good breakfast.

GermanyBeds are very hard. Overall I think it's overpriced considering we had to pay 300 € / night with half board. Meal size at dinner varies a lot: First day it was totally fine, second day is was like half of the portion. The surcharges for meals that you cannot choose for half board are ridiculously high. The offered wines are very very basic and totally overpriced.
The view is awesome. That is by far the best location to get a nice view towards Le Morne and the bay. The concept to have breakfast and dinner is perfect for activities during the day.

United KingdomThe hotel was delightful, but heads up that the road up should be taken slowly. Continue past Ebony Forest and go up the path. Its single lane and can be bumpy, but is doable if you go steady. Enjoy the views.

AustraliaI understand the desire to keep the area natural since it’s set in the bush, which adds to its charm. However, the road leading to the property was quite rough and uneven. A bit of improvement for safer and more comfortable access would really elevate the experience without taking away from the natural feel.
What I loved most about Chalet Chamarel was the calming atmosphere and the absolutely stunning views. It felt like a peaceful escape surrounded by nature’s beauty,truly breathtaking and refreshing.

The best location you could choose for your stay in southern Mauritius. The view from the top of the mountain was breathtaking—truly one of a kind. We simply couldn’t stop admiring the stunning lagoon and the iconic Le Morne Brabant. The chalet was very spacious and tastefully furnished. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind.

United KingdomDidn't enjoy dinners much, especially after staying at the sister hotel Seasense and being spoilt by beatifully presented and tasty evening meals..We found dinners at Chamarel hotel very mediocre and next time would choose breakfast only option. Swimming pool located by the restaurant and open from 10am - would be nice to use it early morning before breakfast. Rooms definitely need some TLC
The best views in Mauritius by far! We stayed in the Chalet 8 and we recon it had the best views of the Ocean and Le Morne Brabant mountain. Very peaceful and charming place! Great cooked breakfast Reception and restaurant staff are super helpful and friendly Lots to do near by with walking distance to the Ebony forest and short drive to Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark. Would highly recomend to hire a car as there is so much to explore. It is our favorite corner of the entire island, Chamarel and Le Motne areas are so beautiful!
