How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWhat an unexpected gem! We had a wonderful stay. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and helped us to celebrate our anniversary with thoughtful touches and extras throughout the weekend. The location is perfect - right on the beach - and our room (despite being a garden view) looked out towards the ocean. We also loved that activities like kayaking and snorkeling were included in the stay, making it an excellent value for what we paid.
Nothing at all, everything was lovely.

The beach strip was also long enough for a morning walk and run- tranquil. Everyday here was absolutely fantastic! Verified reviewThe site itself is wonderful. Great hotel staff and really large and comfortable rooms. Internet is goo and plenty of sun bed by the beach. There is also a wide offering at their bar and restaurant and a parking just in front of the hotel. Wellness professional services at a very descent price.
The issue with an hotel like this is they should deliver at their restaurant. Not only they sell everything at major city price (such London or Paris) and twice pricier as the smaller restaurant around, but they don't deliver the quality for this price point. We came with the intention to et there everyday and enjoy their bar, but the value is simply not there. We got better value in other restaurants and food quality. For the bar I would not pay London price cocktail in Mauritius when this is way overpriced for the location. This was the only downside as the stay and room were perfect otherwise. They either need to review prices or to improve significantly quality. But they haven't achieved my expectation as a resort.

We were here celebrating our honeymoon and my husband birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay so special and we are so grateful. From the minute we arrive to our goodbye, the hotel staff we nothing but attentive. They upgraded us to a sea view room, complimentary wine and fruits, organised a cake, sang happy birthday to my husband, and arranged us a bubble breakfast. We felt truly special. Verified reviewI had a lovely stay at Sakoa Boutik. Everything was top notch from the staff to the breakfast to the beach. Great location and the beach in front of the hotel is well maintained. There is a sectioned off swimming section so that boats do not anchor in front, something that may be a challenge with other hotels. There was a complimentary 1.5hr boat ride with snorkeling which was a nice perk.

The rooms were beautifully designed, blending comfort and style with a tropical touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home and VERY VERY HELPFUL! Location wise, it was the best right on one of the most stunning beaches with easy access to nearby spots. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking for a serene, authentic escape in Mauritius.

Verified reviewThe rooms, beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable, the staff extremely polite and friendly, the location on a wonderful beach where we can snorkel just a few meters from the shore, the swimming-pool, gorgeous and perfectly adapted to young kids, the equipment provided, the sunsets from the bar and the breakfasts.
We wanted to extend our stay, rooms were available but as it was last minute, the price they offered us was almost twice the base rate despite the rooms remaining vacant, curious choice.

Verified reviewOn one of the most beautiful beaches this little hotel is providing everything you need to have a great vacation.Rooms are big and comfortable. Clean and well organized place. Coffee here is so good and the breakfast is outstanding. Kanu and glass bottom boot trip to the reef 🪸 is offered for free. Here you can snorkel and see the underwater world. They are really Kids friendly and offer proper meals on the menu for kids. We extended our stay...that's how great it is here.
