Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MauritiusIt's not 5 star, but I'd rate it 5 star because it's all you need. Spacious room, outdoor patio, stylish bathroom and shower. Close to restaurants and beach.

South AfricaThere was no briefing by Lodge Administrator about some other entertaining sides around ,eg we only saw on Sunday as we leave further down on south side there is plenty of boats for hiring for trips and some lot of good restaurants. It must be standard to give visitors induction and briefing about the area especially foreigners
The room was well attended and clean, beach fantastic

GermanyWish they had provided an induction in the kitchenette or had some basic food service (like breakfast).
Loved the relaxed but well thought out aesthetics of this place and the location is great if you want to stay in the North without being in the super touristy spots. Lots of amenities like restaurants and a supermarket are within a few steps.

South AfricaThere was no fridge in our room, there is a communal fridge in the communal kitchen but it is rather gross as everyone puts there things in there. Even just a small fridge in the room would be fine, just to put some milk and drinks in.
The rooms are comfortable, clean and the balconies are fantastic to have a coffee on in the mornings and a drink at night. It is close to restaurants, shops and the beach. It is also right by the bus stop to Grand baie.

JapanSmall things - no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom. No coffee, only tea in the room
Enter by the little zen pool, check in with the friendly staff then relax on your street side balcony or head to the beach to watch the sunset. Very comfortable and clean but won’t break the bank. This little place is set slightly back from the main road so it’s fairly quiet (although there is a little street noise) Conveniently close to the beach, bus stop, supermarket etc

MauritiusNot very accommodating staff, no one working past a certain hour which can prove difficult. One of the lights in the bulkhead above the curtain blew with an extremely loud pop waking up our baby leaving us without power for what would have been the entire night (since there were no staff present) if not for a bit of searching to find the breaker switches. The bathroom is poorly designed and leaks water everywhere into the living space despite the design supposedly supporting it. Absolutely no way to clean the water afterwards other than to let it dry or use one of the limited towels supplied. This may be common, but needing to insert our key card to receive power is very inconvenient, ESPECIALLY when only given one card despite booking for two guests.
Great location just a short walk to the beach and great food spots nearby. Crêpe restaurant right downstairs too! Spacious rooms!

IndiaHonestly there was nothing to dislike, it was a lovely stay.
We really liked Dodola Lodge's location, bed, washroom and the host. In comments, people have written that the bed is small..can understand as it could be for people who are extremely tall. (6.1" and above) However for Asians, i feel it is a good fit. We felt room was spacious. People can choose this location as it is very near to the bus and taxi stop. Also, both French and Indian cuisine restaurants are just within 7-15 minutes walking distance. (Would suggest to try La Brunchetta for breakfast and Nitzana for lunch. For Pizza, one can try Mississippi Fried chicken - I am pure vegetarian and these places really worked out well for me) Buses take u directly to Mont Choisy, Grand Baie beaches which is within half an hour and is in one straight road. Pereybere beach which is just a minute from Dodola lodge is nice to see the sunset.

United StatesThe bathroom windows didn't seal when closed allowing mosquitos an entry point so we bought tape and covered the spots so the room was mosquito free from then on.
After doing lots of research about where to stay in Mauritius we choose Perebeye and the Dodola Lodge. The room was perfect. We choose one with a kitchenette. There was a drying rack on the patio although the cloths dried best in the room as it was humid outside. They have a shared kitchen with a fridge and cooking area if you didn’t go the kitchenette route but to have everything you need in the room was amazing, glassware, plates, utensils, mugs, kettle, fridge, hand towel, cutting board, microwave and counter space. They even provide a sponge and liquid soap. The only thing missing was an ice cube tray. We improvised and made ice using small paper cups and at one point even aluminum muffin tins. The hotel provides soap but no shampoo or conditioner. The shower has plenty of hot water and the aircon works great. There are black out curtains and a safe in the room. Beach towels are available at 50MR each and you can keep them as long as you like. Mitch was helpful in any info we needed and responded to my emails quickly before arrival. The grocery store is less than a 5 minute walk away and has everything you could want. The fresh baked baguette ( 9MR ) was a staple for sure. A 6 pack of phoenix beer about 375 MR. The location is great, and since on a side street very quiet. 2 min walk to an ATM, fried chicken, pizza, crepes, 3 min walk to the bus and an amazing food truck at the beach, 4 min walk to the taxi stand, 4 or 5 restaurants and then the super market. The beach is great, crowded with locals enjoying, picnicking, a pentanque court and playing music. The sun sets right into the ocean – the view is incredible. The bus to Grand Baie takes 5 minutes and is 24 MR. In terms of exercise by walking there are no side walks and the cars go whizzing by, if you bring water shoes you can start on the beach and continue to the right and walk all the way to another long stretch of beach.
