The place is adequate. It could be furnished in a more welcoming manner but it isn't bad.

The only problems we had were the curtains not shading the windows enough to sleep well and the noise from the traffic below, even on 4th floor. Having a breakfast included would make the stay more comfortable.

Quiet location, nice view, good pillows and towels, and friendly staff. Many shops and restaurants nearby, and many things are walking distance away.

Bathroom was clean but smelled really bad, no warm/hot water, and couldn't turn off the light on the A/C so very bright in the room. The elevator is a bit scary also.

At Kirin Guest House, Port Louis, Mauritius, I was happy to be given a room with a view of the city on the 6th Floor. My room was spacious, and it seemed to be clean. I appreciated the bathroom. The hotel is above a Chinese restaurant. It is in Queen Street in Port Louis, close to a basic supermarket, and within walking distance of Central Market. It is in a good location for exploring Port Louis. The hotel is basic, but the staff are friendly and they try their best to respond to requests. From Patrick, 1 July 2025.

I am NOT HAPPY that the Kirin Guest House in Port Louis, had NO LAUNDRY SERVICE!! In fact it appears there is no laundry service anywhere in Port Louis, Mauritius. People should check if there is a laundry service when they book hotels in Mauritius, and in particular, Port Louis. Kirin Guest House should buy better looking soap gel, rather than the brown soap gel they put in the bathroom. The door lock at my room should be improved. From Patrick, 1 July 2025.

If you're planning to navigate Mauritius by public transport, this hotel is well situated next to a big bus station, and a short walk from the end of the tram line. My room was spacious and had a decent view out over the harbour. The price was good value, especially compared to other options on the island.

The facilities were pretty basic. Things were a little worn down (but everything still worked as expected).

I like that it was close and central to everything you need. Banks, shop, restaurants etc . It is 5-6 minutes away from the caudan waterfront, which is a tourist business center. The main bus station is nearby , the taxi bay nearby even the center of Port Louis local market is nearby. I loved it. The staff are polite, nice and helpful.

My room was clean, great bedding, I felt very comfy. Hot water in the shower, but most importantly it was clean inside. However the owner could consider revamp a bit.

Area right around the hotel shuts down early in the evening and it is very quiet and dark. Seems OK to walk to the restaurants within sight of the hotel, but if you are going any further or returning from the water front after dark ... best to take a taxi. Not saying it is not safe, but it is so quiet, so dark and so few people ... it is best to err on the side of caution.

Location Staff were friendly and helpful

The location was good. Walking to distance to the market, restaurant, parks, waterfront board walk and China town. The room was big and the bed was okay. The staff was very helpful and quick to attend to our needs. The elevator was a life saver as we were on the top floor.

The first impression of the place was not good. The reception area did not have a warm welcome to it. It was small and hot. The place look tired. The wallpaper in the room was peeling off.

Very good value for the money. Got what I paid for and would stay again. Low price, clean room, and nice front desk staff. This is a basic place to stay,not a full service.

A bit cooler AC and shelf space. I just used my suitcase to store and place my clothes. No breakfast until several places nearby open but typically not until 9am (I think one at 8am).

Tidy room with en-suite, reasonably quiet (on fifth floor) good firm bed, aircon. Very central to everything. Reasonable Chinese restaurant on first floor (good xiou long bao). Fridge cups tv and electric jug. Good value for money. Would stay again.

Not a rateable hotel but good value for money.

The owner was very nice and got me a taxi late at night. 🙂

Its proximity to my meeting venue was excellent, as it was a less than 10 minute walk. The room had a certain smell perhaps from the cleaning products used. The nose adjusts after a while though.

I was very satisfied with my room and the location of the hotel which takes a few minutes walk to the Waterfront.0

The owner Me Mihary is very helpful.He gave an early checkin and clearly informed that the checkout time was 12 noon. He helped me with travel in the island by good advices. The hotel is near to bus station. For budget travellers this is a very good option. Central market, waterfront, the museums and everything is walkable. Beaches are just less than one hour in bus and may be 30 minutes in cab. Best value for money. Loved Mauritius and the stay

Everything was nice and I loved it. A nice place to be in when you are in a foreign nation
