Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyMaison d’été is a piece of paradise in Poste Lafayette. The place is beautifully decorated and has 2 swimming pools on the top of the beach you can enjoy, with the black stones which makes it very special. It is a boutique hotel with size that makes it like you are at home, less than 20 rooms. We have enjoyed everything at our stay in La Maison d’ete, but what truly made the difference is the wonderful team, who was genuinely nice and willing to share their island, culture with us. We felt immediately at home, they anticipated our needs giving us extra towels for a boat trip, proactively proposed activities such as visiting the market in Flacq to buy ingredients and then do a cooking class with the chef, it was loads of fun and we tried amazing street-food at the market. An heartful thank you to the whole team at Maison d’Ete, Raj, Roy, Julio, Anais, Loic and the team from the reception, the F&B mananger for organizing the 5 island trip for us, the chef who share his secrets for the mauricien salsa! Thank for your service and attention. We will keep a fund memory of our stay and we will definitely come back.

MauritiusEvery was perfect. Next time a ashtray on the balcony would have been heaven
Everything was nice except that the confirmation say we get a reserved parking but in fact it's the beach curb which has been delimitated by beach authority. Not a valid excuse but they did their best to make the necessary arrangements. I definitely will come back again. I love their proactivity to please us

United Arab EmiratesAn unforgettable stay in a secluded corner of paradise! We absolutely loved our stay at La Maison d'Eté by NEWMARK! This is not just a hotel - it is a true boutique oasis that exudes comfort and elegance. Beautiful architecture, stylish interiors and breathtaking ocean views make this place truly special. The hotel offers its own small beach, two swimming pools, sports equipment, boats, snorkels and board games - all free of charge and easily accessible. Special thanks to the amazing staff - always friendly, attentive and ready to help. Every request was handled instantly and with a smile. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the grounds were well-maintained, and everything was thoughtfully organized down to the smallest details. The hotel offers à la carte breakfasts - always delicious (although we would have liked a little more vegetables), and lunch and dinner were ordered separately - each meal was a real treat. The hotel also helped organize excursions, airport transfers, and even a trip to the local market - such nice touches made our stay even more enjoyable. A huge thank you to the La Maison d'Eté by NEWMARK team for their warm hospitality and unique atmosphere that made us not want to leave

IrelandThe location isn't too convenient for sightseeing if you don't have a car. I was happy to lounge by the beach at this point in my trip, so it was fine for me. But worth being aware of if you want to explore the rest of Mauritius.
Lovely hotel, looking out over the ocean. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a good view. The staff were all very helpful. There were some minor works outside and the staff did their best to make up for the inconvenience.

United Arab EmiratesAlthough no problem caused by Hotel the parking has been changed since last visit by the authorities so this does severely impact on the spaces available to park a hire car - you have to now negotiate to park horizontally if there is space certainly not ideal. Hopefully the Tourism Authorities will understand the issue that this has caused.

United Arab EmiratesI have travelled a lot over the last decade, but this hotel was truly one of the best experiences I've ever had. The staff were the nicest people I have ever met and went above and beyond to look after me during my solo trip. At check in, I was welcomed with a complimentary drink and short head massage, which was lovely after a long flight. My room had an incredible view and it was the most peaceful experience. The hotel is quite small, so it's exactly what you need if you're looking for a quiet, stunning getaway to switch off for a few days. The food from my full board package was delicious and very fresh.

Amazing holiday in Mauritius! Loved this hotel and the staff were just amazing! The food menu was wonderful with a great variety! The hotel is a nice size so that it feels personal, with great facilities inc. free snorkeling, kayaking and Padel boarding options. There are even bikes you can take out and ride around the area which was a lovely perk. Two beautiful pools as well and wonderful views for sunrise! Room was beautiful and loved it! Spent my 30th birthday here and they made it very special.

United KingdomWe didn't get to take advantage of the complimentary 15 minute massage. I only wish we could have stayed more than one night!
The staff were exceptionally welcoming upon arrival and attentive throughout the entire stay. It felt as though we had free roam of the whole place to do as we pleased but there was always help at hand as soon as it was required. The room was fantastic with welcoming touches like a note, petals, sweet treats, water etc. and had a great view of the beach through the garden landscaping. The full board menu was big enough to satisfy all our needs and all the food was delicious. We took advantage of the free snorkelling and kayaking equipment to enjoy our time on the secluded and quiet beach, a stones throw from our bedroom door.

GeorgiaFood was just okay, not bad, but nothing special. But we really liked breakfast! A large selection of various dishes. Also, the beach a bit dirty with a lot of plastic there. Maybe because of the big waves, but we spend two three days there and nobody clean it.
Everything was perfect! Beautiful place with amazing sea-view, comfortable numbers, team was very polite and attentive.

United KingdomThe common area was not air conditioned, it got very hot and uncomfortable in there.
The hotel was beautifully designed, classy with a laid back vibe. The staff were all attentive and friendly, they made special efforts to make sure we was fully comfortable. The food was nice and plenty of it, the desserts were exceptional. There was plenty to do of an evening with the common area full of games and a pool table. Unfortunately we were unable to fully make use of all facilities due to the Cyclone, but even in difficult times the staff strived to make our stay pleasant.

United KingdomNothing to criticise. Many Americans would be unhappy with no aircon in the dining room but it's designed to let the prevailing winds blow through which is great after a couple of days to acclimatise to the low 30ies temperature. Bed rooms are air-conditioned if you want it. Would be nice to have a small air-conditioned gym.
Charming old world hotel with modern facilities in a quiet out of the mainstream location but on a safe lagoon. The staff were, without exception, very friendly and always pleased to be of service. The menu selection was excellent and the standard of cuisine, high.

RussiaWe only stayed for one night. Immediately before, we stayed at 5 similar priced resorts and properties in Mauritius. So can compare. The room was quite small (bed, chair and table type of the room, with not much of free space. 23(?) sqm adverized seem to be the total area: room, table, bed and bathroom. Bathroom is OK-sized and well equipped. Still, for same price one could get a room at least twice as large at a resort of higher or similar standard and quality. Ceilings at ground floor room appeared relatively low, too. Another thing we did not feel right about is the room category. We booked a seaview room. However, I think it would be fair to put it in “conditional” sea view category, or to create a separate category for that type of rooms oriented to the ocean on ground floor. From our room, sea could hardly be seen (see photos). A note on pools: smaller common pool was more like indivual villa-sized plunge pool and quite worn out, would benefit from renovation. The larger is nicier but also did not appear very clean or for an evening swim in the lights.
Conveniently located for beachside lovers. Very attentive staff trying to to make the stay more pleasant. Compliments for coffee and fresh fruit at breakfast. Room was clean. Ok standard generally.
