How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Balcony doors were not sealed properly and when there was wind there was a lot of air coming into the room. Shower door also didn’t have a working seal and a lot of water was spilling over on the bathroom sink area. The bathroom overall could use some work.

Verified reviewWhere to start! We have been blown away by our experience at the Lagoon Attitude. We cannot recommend a stay there enough. Reasons we chose it - adults only, good price, approach to eco tourism. Upon arrival , checking in was prompt and welcoming. We really liked that you were given a tour of the site , talking through all the amenities available, how to book restaurants, and the hotels values and their approach to sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism. We had a lovely whirlpool suite, light and airy, clean, quiet, good shower and very comfy bed. We went half board but lots of options for lunch if needed. We loved the Taba J serving Mauritian street food - delicious dhall puri, chilli cakes and roti. The food throughout our trip was 5 star standard. The buffet breakfasts were amazing - so much choice and everything made on site. There were 3 restaurants that you could book to eat in the evening, all included - Asian, Mauritian and fish. However the evening buffet was again amazing, each evening themed to a particular cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the Chefs gala night buffet on a Wednesday, the staff going all out to give you an amazing eating experience. The site itself was beautiful, clean , quiet and chilled. Lots of places to chill- 3 pools, bars, a small stretch of private beach. Entertainment every evening if that's what you want. Water based activities included - glass bottomed boat trips, kayaking, snorkeling and diving. We particularly loved the hotels ethos around sustainable tourism. Their approach to protecting the environment and supporting the local economy and community is outstanding. Their marine biology centre provides education about the reef and local marine life and works towards educating its visitors and the local community, offering workshops and accompanied trips out into the ocean. For us, the best part of our stay were the lovely lovely staff.

Verified reviewTo be completely honest the only factor that I liked was that for the most part the staff where incredibly friendly. There were a handful of examples where that was not the case. It was more the exception than the norm. That been said the lady that gave me a massage was just plain rude after been over 40 minutes late for the appointment!
The food really was not up to scratch, even at the hotel restaurants the food was not great. The only place the on occasion that seemed to have nice food was the outside Mauritian BBQ place - that sadly changed when I found a piece of metal in my chicken sandwich from a pot scourer. The room was tired and old and had an odd smell. The aircon was pretty noisy too. Not stocking the bar fridge with some basics is absolute nonsense making us go back and forth to top up a few things with the excuse this is a eco resort or some excuse. The beach view I paid for was a off in the distance. Really disappointing. Booking any of the restaurants was nearly impossible and had to be made 2-3 days in advance(this might have been a blessing in disguise as the food was generally really poor - Lemon Grass the worst of the lot) so you were forced to eat at the À la carte restuarnt which was always packed with the same dreary over coooked food over and over again, so really a poor experience. The beach was a tiny cordoned off area, really little to no option for a 'walk on the beach' What was interesting is the sheer number of people with similar feedback - very disappointed

Unfortunately the main swimming pool was out of action during our stay. It also meant the sun beds were always taken by the other pool.

Verified reviewWe spent our honeymoon here and absolutely loved it! The staff were incredibly friendly and always up for a nice chat, with great attention to detail throughout our stay. We had booked the restaurants in advance—which I definitely recommend—and when I was feeling unwell one day and missed our reservation, they were quick to reschedule it for us. The buffet was fantastic, with lots of variety, and the food across all venues was truly delicious. I'm not a drinker, but my husband really enjoyed the cocktails. As a Portuguese person, I have to highlight how good the coffee was—definitely appreciated! The hotel’s beach is quite small, but very clean, and there are some beautiful beaches nearby. We rented a car and it was totally worth it for exploring the area. The hotel is also very eco-conscious: no plastic, no straws, and a strong commitment to respecting nature and the animals that live on the property. There are a few friendly dogs and even a cat around, which we loved! It’s clear the staff genuinely care for them, and it was heartwarming to see. I understand that might not be for everyone, especially if you're allergic or not an animal lover—but in that case, it’s simple: just book elsewhere. What impressed me most was how the hotel stands firm on its values of respecting animals and nature, even if some guests complain. We loved this. Special shoutout to Marcello and the incredible restaurant staff, you truly made us feel spoiled in the best way. I’ve traveled extensively, and this was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had. The pools are also stunning. We’ll definitely be back!
Just a small suggestion—not a complaint at all—but since there’s an optional contribution to the hotel’s foundation at the end of the stay, it would be great if some of that could go toward the care of the dogs on the property. They always have food and water, which is great, but considering how common fleas and ticks are on the island, it might be worth investing in regular treatments for them—especially since they live on-site and interact closely with guests. We loved having them around and admire the respect the hotel shows toward animals; we just feel their health and comfort could be even better supported. Also, we had booked a sea view room, which we did get, with an amazing view, but the building itself felt a little outdated. Since it was our honeymoon, it would’ve been lovely to be spoiled with a slightly more updated room—but again, this isn’t a complaint, just a thought for future consideration. Overall, we truly had a wonderful stay and appreciate all the effort the staff put into making our experience special.

Verified reviewThis hotel is also a botanical garden. That's how beautiful plants and trees around hotell are.
They sure have an attitude, but no shampoo, mini bar or balcony doors that can be safely closed. The 'regular' staff—such as gardeners, room cleaners, and taxi drivers—seem to be doing an excellent job and are consistently friendly and polite. In contrast, those in managerial roles or at reception often come across as indifferent. Also this is the windiest place on the entire island which, in july , made balcony, pool and beach almost unusable. The wind is strong and blows a howls 24 h a day, 7 days a week.

Verified reviewFrom the moment we arrived until the day we left, the staff treated us with such warmth and care. The attention to detail throughout the resort was outstanding. A special mention to Begum from housekeeping—she was absolutely lovely and ensured our room was spotless every day. The reception team was incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist with anything we needed. We truly felt looked after. The restaurant staff were equally wonderful—friendly, attentive, and efficient. And the food… wow! Every meal was like a journey around the world. The pasta was my absolute favourite!

Verified reviewAll the staff were so helpful and very friendly. They remembered our room number and usual drinks within a couple of days, which showed us they were there to really help clients. The food was superb with so many options and changed everyday.
Was a bit disappointment with our room. Booked a beach front room but the view was the towel hut and beach bar couldn't see the sea. There is a beach but is very small.

Verified reviewThis resort has everything you need for an extended stay: different restaurants, lots of different activities, and a great location with a private beach. The rooms are spacious and the staff go out of their way to accommodate any request. The à la carte restaurants are excellent compared to the buffet restaurant, which is just alright.
It wasn't easy to book a spot in the à la carte restaurants because everything was full when we tried booking right after checking in. Fortunately, we received help from a manager and were able to secure a table at different restaurants on two of the five nights we were at the hotel.
