How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe owner is always ready to give you hand. Super cool guy. Staff awesome, they do their job well. The place is so clean, hats off to cleaning crew. Breakfast always you get bread. If it is mixture would have been great. Overall nice place to relax. Worth for money.

Verified reviewI paid for 5 nights but only stayed for one day , in fact 3 hours. I informed them about my arrival times, they slept and I stayed dumped by the taxi on the street for over 3 hours awaiting for them to open in the middle of the night. They did not, and I climbed over the fence to knock when they finally opened.
Everything and the fact that I cant be refunded.

Verified reviewThe staff are extremely nice and welcoming. They will go out of their way to help you. They are kind and approachable. They are happy to make arrangements to help you and are responsive when called or messaged. I was locked out by accident one night and the owner rectified it withing 5 minutes. Somebody is available 24 hours to help you. The value for money is decent and you get what you pay for. The rooms are clean and as is the rest of the interior of the hotel, despite the rather neglected scaffoldings/structure the insides are clean. It is good to stay for a few nights if you are on a tight budget and plan to spend the majority of the day outside the hotel. It is well connected to public transport and the area around is safe also for walking.
The property could use some major renovations, it is quite run down, and the listing photos do not really reflect the state. That stated it is still passable given the price point. The walls were very thin and there is no isolation, so the noise it very loud, you can hear all conversations and sounds from reception/other guests. I was sleeping late and waking up very early so it wasn't an issue for me. However, if you sleep early or prefer to wake up after 8 to 9am this may be an issue for you . At night (around 4am) two men ( I think staff) were sleeping for the night ( duvets, alarm set etc) on the coaches in the reception area which is not the most professional. The room is a bit run down (but clean) but the bathroom has a strong odor and overall is quite dank. I did find a few bugs on the bed. I personally wasn't a fan of the breakfast, it is very underwhelming and is set each day, unless your room includes it i would not pay extra for it. The breakfast staff are lovely though.

hello Mariam, Firstly, you should have informed us earlier that your client flight was postponed and that you required an accommodation letter ( which basically is not required from us if you have booked on booking.com!! ) Not calling me at 3 am to ask for an accommodation letter. No one works at this time. Also let me inform you that it's on booking.com that you have to request a refund not directly from me. You yourself told me to keep the money for another booking as your client ran away, right? We are not a mess. If your clients ran away after passing the Mauritian immigration it is none of our issues. You have to assume the consequences of your actions and not just blame us for everything.
