How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It is a staff-less facility...that means you are on our own.. but no worries, the host Mr. Junaid is always in touch with you thru whatsapp for any help /doubts. The apartment complex was practically unoccupied . On the first night the fire alarm started ringing because it was malfunctioning. As there was no caretaker on the site , even after we informed the owner and the caretaker came to rectify for a full hour the alarm kept on blaring. Good thing was it happened when we were around rather than say when kids were alone at the apartment. So this made us uncomfortable at the idea of leaving kids alone ina complex of 12 apartments where no one else was staying.
Dear Guest I need to correct several misleading points in your review. Fire alarm – The system did not “malfunction.” It detected smoke—most likely from someone’s cooking—and did exactly what a fire-safety system is designed to do: sound throughout the building until the all-clear is confirmed. You notified me at 21:30; our property manager was on-site by 22:00 and silenced the alarm once he had verified there was no fire. That 30-minute response is faster than the industry standard for off-site call-outs. Suggesting the alarm was defective is simply inaccurate. Security & occupancy – You stayed during the low season, so yes, several units were vacant. That does not mean the complex is abandoned: it is monitored 24/7 by a professional security company, CCTV cameras cover all entry points, and the caretaker lives three minutes away. Claiming your children were “alone” in an insecure property ignores these facts. Our listing clearly states the presence of a comprehensive fire-safety system and round-the-clock security. A quick read before booking—or before posting public comments—would have avoided these misunderstandings. We are proud of our beachfront location and stricter-than-code safety standards. Future guests can rest assured that both are exactly as described.

Verified reviewAbsolutely fantastic place – highly recommended! Our stay was simply perfect. The location is amazing – right by a stunning beach with breathtaking sunsets. It’s also just a short walk to a charming village with little shops and places to eat. For larger shopping trips, it’s only a short drive or bus ride away. The accommodation itself was pure luxury – incredibly spacious, spotless, and very well-equipped. For us, luxury doesn't mean a hotel with services, but rather a private unit with its own entrance, garden, and everything you need – and this place delivered exactly that. The ocean was incredible – right in front of the property there's a beautiful coral reef, making it a perfect spot for snorkeling. The host was exceptional – communication was excellent, and he was always quick to help and offer advice. A lovely bonus is the beautifully maintained complex, complete with gardens and an amazing pool. We recommend this place, and if we ever return to Mauritius, this is where we’ll be staying again!

Verified reviewTruly amazing place, right at the beachfront with a big swimming pool in a common area. Apartment felt like home! Fully equipped kitchen with some goodies waiting for us was a very nice gesture which made our arrival even better. Also a big plus was to have a washing machine there. Absolutely loved the boho style decor of the apartment. Hopefully one day I will return to this place of tranquility :)

Verified reviewA comparison. We rented 3 different apartments in Mauritius an this one was the best by far. A- 2 bedroom Condo -Villa Ibiza - for €300,10* for 3 nights in Troux d'Eau douce - rate 8. B- Ocean Point Beachfront Residences - Apartment A1 - for €287,28* for 3 nights in pointe aux piments - rate 11. C- Modern Apartment by the sea - for €328,17* for 4 nights in Tamarin - rate 6. *Prices include various discounts. They all rate great on indoor and outdoor space, facilities, equipment, WiFi, private parking, etc. This apartment (Ocean Point Beachfront Residences - Apartment A1) was the best by far. First of all the welcome package was incredible. Cokes in the fridge, tea, coffee, milk, bread, noodles, crisps, chocolates, macadamia nuts, bottled water. No hotel will provide this. The apartment is new and very modern and you will lack nothing. Except maybe for a larger pot for cooking and a cutting board. There is a fan on the terrace to keep you cool and keep some of the mozzies away. 3 bedrooms, 2 with en suite bathroom and toilet. Huge living room/kitchen. Contact with the friendly host Junaid was very easy. Housekeeping will make sure you can enjoy your holiday. This would certainly be our first choice if we were to visit Mauritius again.
