How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Hotels around the world has modernised a lot. Authenticity has to be mixed with modernisation. On another note, the hotel should check its aircon system in room 240. There was a continous sound some 30 mins after being switched off in the night which disturbed my sleep for hours.

Verified reviewThe hotel was perfect for a quiet relaxing holiday. The staff were excellent on all levels, the hosts were responsive on WhatsApp, the restaurant staff are hospitable and welcoming. I especially appreciate the restaurant staff one night who made me fresh lemongrass and ginger tea when they knew I had a sore throat. Facilities and staff were excellent for children especially my active 4 year old. Feeding the ducks and fish will remain one of the highlights of the vacation for my kids.. Food options in the breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent.
Lunch options are a bit limited. The room didn’t have an iron or other amenities usually found in other hotels (cotton pads, shower cap…etc). I didn’t need them so didn’t ask for them so I don’t know if they are available on request or not.

Unfortunately, my recent experience did not meet the standards I expected from a top-tier hospitality hotel. The staff appeared disorganised, and there was a clear lack of communication between the bookings team and the ground staff. Important details that had been agreed upon during the booking process were not known or honoured on-site, which led to confusion and disappointment. This level of service did not reflect the professionalism one would expect from a hotel of this calibre.

Verified reviewWe spent 4 nights at One&Only after enjoying 3 fantastic days at Heritage Le Telfair — and the contrast couldn’t be more disappointing. Unfortunately, our stay at One&Only was filled with one letdown after another. For a resort that claims to be ultra-luxury, the experience fell far below expectations. Here are just a few of the issues we encountered: • No water activities: All boat and sea excursions were canceled due to mildly windy weather. We had to leave the resort to find alternatives elsewhere. • Pools not heated: Despite the chilly weather, none of the resort’s pools were heated, except one that we were not allowed to use. That’s unacceptable for a property charging over €1,000 per night. • Spa experience: We tried booking massages on day one and were told fully booked until day three. When our appointment finally arrived, it was canceled last-minute, and we were offered pedicures instead — no apology, no alternatives. • Kids club: The kids’ club was mostly empty and unengaging. My sons (8 and 10) and I were asked to leave a room with a pool table and board games because it was for “13+ only.” Later, we were turned away from the padel court because my wife was wearing jeans — a surprising rule for a supposed luxury resort. • Power outages: Electricity went out 4–5 times a day for short periods. It’s 2025, and we were shocked this was even an issue at a 5-star hotel. We expected warmth, service, and professionalism — we got cold water, cold attitudes, and cold shoulders. This was not just disappointing — it was disheartening. One&Only was, sadly, a one-time experience for us. I truly hope the resort takes guest feedback seriously, as the brand image does not match the reality.

Our room was not ready until 16:30 (their reason was that we made the booking the same morning so we could not expect the room to be ready at 14:00). We were patient at first but got frustrated when the duty manager on that day gave us the above explanation and there didn't seem to be much haste in keeping us updated on when the room would be ready. After the check in (which took 45min to complete extra forms on an Ipad - seperate from the bookings.com booking we made) we still were waiting and eventually at 16:30 a staff member fetched us to take us to the room. Only after we asked to speak to the manager did he suggest we have lunch for free. This didn't bring back time lost. The general feeling was unwelcoming during that time. The restaurant staff were very nice though and we had a nice dinner.
