How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe penthouse apartment is huge and beautifully decorated. Each room has ensuite. The cleaners made the place look spotless. The balcony is amazing! It has a lounge area, large dinner table and sun loungers with the most incredible views over the ocean. I absolutely loved sitting out at that view, memories forever. The private beach and surrounding area was quiet. The water was clear, beautiful and clean. There are shops about 5 minutes drive to get food shopping or something to eat. When returned back late one evening to find the lights weren't working. However within 3 minutes all was fixed. I highly recommend. It was everything I could have imagined and more.

Verified reviewThe location is stunning, right on the beach. We had the two penthouses and the views were phenomenal. The two main rooms at the front were spacious - just be aware the back rooms are small so very crowded in the twin rooms with two adults. The property manager was communicative and responsive and the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.
We had so many things that needed fixing (windows, doors (external and internal), locks, door knobs, lamps, drawer didn't open, leaking aircon) and although staff were responsive, a few of the things weren't fixed or not fixed properly. The deck boards (balconies and pool deck) also have large gaps between some of them and/or they're not level. Easy to break a toe or catch your shoe and trip (which many of us did, especially around the pool). One of the main beds was so squeaky it was literally impossible to sleep so we spun the whole bed around which reduced a little of the noise. We let the property manager know we'd accidentally dropped the small lime/lemon juicer. Although we offered to pay for it (you know - do the right thing) we were surprised they not only took us up on that they charged us about $17AUD (it would have been a few dollars at Kmart but perhaps it's expensive there). For the price, we were disappointed in some of the elements of our stay. We all felt that for the price there shouldn't be dodgy deck boards and squeaky beds and unlockable doors and unshuttable windows. And to be honest, to ask for $17AUD after we'd paid well over $12,000AUD, just for a small juicer came across a little greedy.

Our handyman attended to the concerns promptly upon your arrival, and for items requiring external suppliers, we have since opted to handle repairs internally to avoid further delays. The outdoor decking issues were also reported to the building management. Regarding the lime juicer, a fee was applied in accordance with our policy, which is communicated at check-in. This covered the replacement of the juicer, along with several broken glasses. A complimentary late check-out was also offered, though it was unfortunately declined. Your comments are important to us and have been shared with the team to improve both the property’s condition and our communication. Verified reviewA non stick pan for the eggs. Some smaller serving plates, most were very big . Table cloth. Some capsules for the coffee machine. It is always practical to find bits and pieces that clients normally leave behind like a bit of oil, some spices , etc Unfortunately we could not have our meals on the beautiful terrace because of the wind. That did not prevent us to have a good time.

Verified reviewThere should be a level of respect enforced for the noise levels of children at the pool. There's having fun, and then there's unnecessary screaming for 8 hours, non-stop. Some people are coming to relax and with constant screaming by the pool, this was almost impossible.
