How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Verified reviewA very nice property, recently renovated. There is ample room by the pools and lots of dinner options. Both the breakfast buffet as well as the restaurants (especially Kot Nou) are excellent quality and use as many local products as possible. There are lots of activities to do and the entertainment program offers something for everyone. The glassbottom boat was a real surprise and we enjoyed it very much. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We were really impressed; Sunrise attitude must have an excellent training program as all staff members continuously cater to all your needs and are friendly at all times.

Verified reviewThe swimming pools are both clean and spacious with lots of different types of seating arrangements to lounge around. The all-inclusive package is so vast that it surprised us - it obviously covered our food for the day but also snacks, 4 drinks for the minibar per day, a long drink list for the whole day, boat trips, activities like cooking classes and gym classes and a la carte dining in 3 restaurants. The gym was really kitted out, enough for me to be able to do a workout without any compromises. The beach is within 30 seconds walking, they have a cart on the beach for sunscreen and for drinks with quite a few loungers.
A really tiny thing would be to be provided lifejackets for the boat trips so that you can feel safer and enjoy it even if you’re not the most confident swimmer.

Reaching out to understand our itinerary, organise group activities all inclusive, special rate lunch and dinner, resolving issues with rooms rapidly etc. Our luggage was delivered to our rooms priori to arrival and delivered to gatehouse for check out.

Verified reviewFood was excellent. Staff is very kind and always ready to help. Room was comfortable and clean. Beach is across to the hotel and it's very beautiful. I liked also how hotel takes care about their guests. Last day, when you check out, hotel can provide you a shower, if you want to use a pool or going to the beach.
Hotel needs to better communicate to their guests the avaliable activities in the hotel. For example excursions, boat trips, snorkeling, etc. Also in the bathroom is missing hair conditioner and body milk.

Verified reviewGeneral: Exceptional hotel! For our joint family of 9 we've got 5 double rooms with garden view, close to one another - the rooms are always clean, very well furnished and equipped with everything you need. They were pretty well sound-proof and air conditioner was quiet. Regardless which room you take - the garden view is great from each corner, very exotic. Food: At each meal there's always big choice of meat/fish/veggie/vegan options, to any taste, grilled, steamed, cooked. Fruits were plenty and fresh, desserts of any kind - tartes, soufflé, ice cream, pancakes, jams. Many options of wines and cocktails, rum. The 2 restaurants, besides the one with buffet, are very fine - you should definitely go there too! Activities: The location on Mauritius is much more quiet and relaxed than in the north/west, the nearby beach is both good for swimming and snorkeling (lots of fish in the northern part). The staff also brings cold drinks in a cart right there. The beach is safe and guarded (not that it was ever needed). The hotel offers many free activities each day - boat tours, yoga & pilates on the beach, games (pool, darts, table tennis, beach football), weekly live music & dance shows. Weddings: we were travelling for our wedding, but booked the rooms before knowing that the hotel offers several wedding packages. The managers have promptly helped us organize everything we could have dreamed about! The places at the beach and in hotel's gardens are perfect for ceremony and photos, the arch and flowers could be decorated with flowers of any choice. The organizers Reena and Avinesh were very kind and attentive to our needs, made us many suprises and gifts, that realy made the day most special (many thanks!). They also offered a photographer that was really professional, and we received all pictures after just 3 days and a unique album!
I wish our holiday could be longer.

Verified reviewEverything! Highly recommend. The adults only is ideal. The all inclusive option is great - wonderful food and drink with a ton of variety. Lovely facilities, various areas to relax, good room quality (even the most basic option), friendly/helpful staff etc.
Only very slight draw back is that it doesn’t have direct beach access (is across the road from).

Verified reviewI liked that the resort is adults only. No screaming kids around the pool or at meal times was very good. The activities included were good. If you want to do something besides laying by the pool or beach, you can. Fairly clean rooms and facilities.
The breakfast and buffet was very average. Bit frustrating that you pay for all inclusive but it wasn't that. The wines included were average and tasted like they had been open for a while. The attitudes of some of the bar staff was bad. You ask for things multiple times and they still don't bring it to you. The a la carte restaurants need to be booked in advance, which meant we had to do the buffet on the first night. The buffet is below average. The restaurants did not appear full on any night we were there.

We found the food quality somewhat underwhelming during our visit. Drinks at the bar took a little longer to arrive during busy periods, although we understand the bar staff worked diligently under pressure. The indoor pool wasn't very clean. The alternative dining options weren't clearly explained, and our starter and main course arrived together very quickly after ordering, resulting in a cold main course that we couldn't fully enjoy. There was a noticeable accumulation of bird droppings around the pool area, suggesting a lack of recent cleaning, which we hope can be addressed...

Verified reviewThe pool is beautiful and nice. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful and quiet. Staff are lovely and the food here is amazing.
Toilet is very small and the toilet at the restaurant area is a bit dirty which it's the same toilet you have to use if you are chilling at the pool. Amenities in the room is very limited. There is only one bottle of soap in the toilet which i have to use as a shampoo as well , i wouldn't expect this from a 4 stars property.

Verified reviewThis is a hotel where the food is good the staff are friendly and the facilities are great. It is eco friendly with virtually no single use plastic. We were locked down because of a cyclone in March but the venue made it no hardship.
It is a shame that the eco friendly efforts in the hotel do not extend to the nearby beach where plastic litter is everywhere. Create when you buy in the shop the price on display may not be the final price as taxes are added.
