How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewStylish and well-equipped hotel in a relaxed beach style. A nice place in a beautiful bay next to the beach, which is frequented by locals - very nice authentic Mauritian town atmosphere, you are not surrounded by tourists and sterile environment of other resorts. The buffet dinners were varied and the food imaginative and most very good. Praise must go to Anish - on the only day he was in charge of the restaurant, everything worked and he was the only one in the kitchen able to arrange gluten free pastries and even pancakes for my son for breakfast. The other praise is due to the maintenance gentleman - on arrival we discovered a leaking drain at the bathroom sink and after reporting it to reception he fixed it immediately and perfectly. The air conditioning in the room worked perfectly and was very quiet.
The only thing we lacked to our complete satisfaction was a better mattress, the ones in our room were unfortunately very soft and one was sinking into them. The second complaint is about the organization of the restaurant. The staff, were very poorly organised. They were milling around, most of them very unprofessional, taking plates from under our hands but leaving dirty ones on the same table without even noticing. Everyone was doing everything and nothing, every once in a while something was missing somewhere. They brought us the bill for our drinks when we hadn't even finished eating, and once they even brought us the bill for a drinks they hadn't brought us during the whole dinner. I guess someone forgot...

Verified reviewThe place was in a nice location across the road from the beach, nice gardens and a rooftop pool.
In my opinion, the restaurant was given a small budget for food. At breakfast, bacon and sausages were behind the counter with the chef who cooked the eggs to ensure you didn't have to many. Dinner was not nice at all. Very cheap cuts of meat and main dishes seemed to all taste the same. We enjoyed our stay but wished we had only booked bed and breakfast.

Verified reviewThe location is good for trips in the south, however it is not so good if you want to enjoy time outside. It was full of mosquitoes and I got bitten badly whenever I went on terrace outside room or around the main pool in the evening or breakfast. The only place I was not bitten was in the roof pool area. It was nice and there was absolutely noone there during the day apart from the barman. The mosquito situation made me rather glad to be leaving. I spent there 3 nights. On 2nd day, a man walked spraying something that was causing smoke. I assumed it was for mosquitoes but not sure if it worked as I was already scratching and it was my last evening. I wish they warned us about the spraying as we were leaving and unfortunately breathed the thing in. The rooms lack hooks or racks for clothes, however generally the decor is beautiful even though the rooms are small. The food was ok, dinners a bit bland but generally you can find something to eat. Do not stroke cats, they scratch! The buffet staff looked quite uninterested. They were hanging in their group looking bored or chatty among themselves rather than engaging with guests. They seemed like thy had no clue what they were there for. To be fair, one good waiter would be much better and useful that the whole bunch of them. I think they would benefit from employing someone with good experience in front of the house who could teach and manage them. There is also a male staff, that I believe was associated with the boat house that would run around, smoking cigarettes, behaving quite rudely. There is a disco going on right outside the hotel on the beach in the evening and it may cause a bit of annoyance. Otherwise the young cook was very nice, reception staff and a male sitting by his laptop. The samosas from ice cream place are very very nice and noodles from the beach.

People are friendly, but just like everywhere else in Mauritius, the service is not there. The breakfast was underwhelming. I did not want to try the food there for other meals. I ordered a taxi the night before my departure. I was asked twice if I was sure because the booking would be "final". The taxi did not show up 30 mins after the scheduled time after me bugging the reception multiple times. But again, it's pretty common in Mauritius I supposed.
