We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The service was very slow, we had to wait 15 mins to take our order in an empty bar. The drinks were not great. One room did not have any towels. We called reception for ice and towels and it never came. We requested a late check out which was approved at reception but I assume the housekeeping was not informed ad they kept checking when we were leaving multiple times. Buffet food was average with not a lot of variety.

Not family-friendly and very disappointing. We arrived after an 11-hour trip from Dubai with three kids, including one with a medical condition. Despite explaining our situation, the staff made us wait until 2 p.m. to check in and showed no flexibility or care. After repeated requests, we were given a temporary room that smelled strongly of urine. Later, our actual rooms were delayed, and when finally provided, one was the same dirty room, another was on the third floor with no elevator (unsafe for kids), and the last smelled like cigarettes and urine. After six exhausting hours, the guest relations manager told us we could leave and promised a refund. We left based on that, but later the hotel denied the refund and claimed we left on our own, which was completely untrue. My children were so tired they ended up sleeping on beach chairs. The service, hygiene, and overall treatment were unacceptable. I would not recommend this resort to any family.

At Tamassa bel Ombre, guest feedback is considering on top priorities and rest assure i have investigate personally on the situation, indeed you have check-in early at 8hr30 a.m local time and check-in time internationally is at 14hr00 for the room and same time the Hotel was fully booked with only one room reamain and the rest was on back to back, However reception team undestand your situation and exceptionally provide you a room to rest until 14hr00 and that time you were very happy and thankful to the team. while your room was ready at 14hr00, the team guild you to your respective room and at that moment you have share your dissapointment regarding no elevator service in our property and indeed our hotel never had elevator service and not even highlight on our website and immeditely we have propose you ground floor room to be more comfortable. After few minute you came at reception and mention you want to check-out unexpexcted without given us the opportunity to discuss on the matter by just saying you already discuss with Booking.com and you want your refund, However your refund was consider for your meal plan upgrade and was refunded immediately to your cart by reversing system. Based on the booking.com confirmation, it clearly mention that if you cancel your booking the cancellation fees will be apply. Once again, thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. Verified reviewThe service was absolutely outstanding – everything was fast, convenient, and the staff were very polite and helpful.
Unfortunately, the room itself was quite old, very humid, and the bed linen had an unpleasant smell due to the humidity. The air conditioner also had an unpleasant odor, as if the filters hadn’t been changed for a long time.

Verified reviewThe room was well equipped, comfortable and big enough. Kudos to our favorite cleaning lady that did a wonderful job with the amazing room decorations! She brought a smile on our face each time. The variety of food was satisfying, especially the beef, naan and paaner. It was nice to have free drinks like lemonade on the beach and the possibility to order fresh coconuts. And the live music and dance shows each Friday was pretty entertaining. We even managed to dance Salsa, Cha Cha, Rumba and Samba!

Verified reviewthe a la carte dinner place by the beach was nice . but needed to book two days in advance. otherwise in buffet restaurants food was too expensive and not worth it . food would run out five minutes before the time ends.
Two things. First , they give you two small bottles of water in the room and then you are supposed to buy expensive water . This was kind of cheap. It's a nice property . Could be much much nicer with few simple things. Also the beach towels were so far from the rooms and pool, pretty much as if resort is trying to discourage people to take them .

Verified review-The only good thing is that the price is reasonable for the area and its scenery. The staff are friendly, and the high manager is polite.
-The area is very remote, and transportation cost us a lot to reach the malls, Port Louis, and the safari. -The activities are limited. Booking stated that some activities are included, but I was told they require an additional fee, such as bicycles and a Jacuzzi. -The spa wasn't enough for me; I've seen better options plus the massage prices were very expensive. -The activities available don't offer priority to residents. A week in advance must be booked, as the staff explained. So I rented a boat from outside for fishing. -The weather is too cold for swimming, and unfortunately, it's the coldest area in the south. -The cleanliness isn't the best; there are a lot of ants and mosquitoes in the room and on the beds. -The food was delicious, but there wasn't much variety. I didn't find the coffee I like. However, the snack bar was disappointing, and there isn't a good grocery store in the resort, so we went out to buy from the supermarket. -The music is annoying at night due to the resort's nightclub, with no regard for the residents. -The staff doesn't explain the activities, and I have to explore them on my own. -Would I stay here again? There are no better areas, more comprehensive activities, a more luxurious spa, or a cleaner one. Even if the price is higher, I came for the fun. Thank you.

Verified reviewWe have spent 10 wonderful days at Tamassa. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful; there was simply nothing that could not be done. We were a party of five and four of us have Celiac disease. Travelling with Celiac disease is not easy, however at Tamassa it was easier than ever before. The chefs and staff did everything to accommodate every wish and we felt completely safe every day, whether we had pancakes, lunch packages, burgers from the truck, meals from the buffet, or a special glutenfree birthday cake for our daughter. So thanks to JSC Suraj, ESC Jean Marc, Jean Edinho, Mr. Altaaf and the amazing staff in the restaurant and around the hotel, we had the most wonderful time at Tamassa bel Ombre. We highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is fortunate enough to visit this small piece of paradise - Mauritius 🌺

Verified reviewBeautiful resort, well maintained with stunning gardens. The buffet breakfast was fantastic lots of different options the pastries were excellent. The evening buffet was also excellent with a big variety. The view from our beachfront room was amazing. Amazing pools, supping, Kayaking and snorkelling included in the price. Great gym and entertainment room with pool table, table tennis, tennis etc.
