How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Would have preferred move choice for children at the snack bar, as all the options were aimed for the adults on the complex.

Verified reviewBeach was lovely. There are a lot of dogs in the area but the beach is clean every day. The only problem was the low tide that we could not use the dinghy or paddle boards which was a little irritating as the water level was too low, however obviously this is beyond the hotels control. Room was perfect and staff were super friendly.
We asked to do a day trip at Grand Baai (which is advertised on the group) and reception phoned the Grand Baai resort and they advised the earliest we could go there was in 2 weeks time - we were quite irritated as it would have been nice to stop there for lunch (all inclusive) while day tripping

Verified reviewThe separate ‘privilege’ rooms are superb, quiet & beautiful (no children allowed in this section). This includes dinner at its separate restaurant which is possibly the best food we have ever had, every night, 4 course cuisine, fresh seafood & amazing salads, and 5 star service. An unexpected delight!
The reception staff wasn’t that great when we arrived, not very welcoming and not giving the necessary info regarding where and when to book dinners, outings etc. A bit more training for the front staff is necessary to match the excellence of the rest of the employees of this excellent resort.

Verified reviewFabulous location right on the beach. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were exceptional - always friendly and helpful. There were lots of things to do there and a really lovely atmosphere. We had a foot massage in the spa on the beach, and a rum tasting and experience one evening - both extremely enjoyable! The food was delicious and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Verified reviewA lovely boutique hotel in Trou Aux Beaches. Fantastic location to travel around the island of Mauritius. The rooms are very beautiful and spotless. The facilities were good and the pools were fab. The staff are very attentive and very accommodating.
The food is average, but if you like fish, totally recommend to stick with that as it is fresh every day. The lagoon is not as it states in the adverts, so for good swimming and snorkelling, you need to go to the main Trou Aux Beaches (shuttle bus can take you there) and that really is a paradise. Please have the dogs removed though - they are a bit of a nuisance.
