“Makunudu Island really is an unspoilt hideaway. Such a beautiful little place with a barefoot - ‘no news, no shoes’ approach to hospitality.
I went there to get some peace and quiet to work on my book and it certainly delivered that. The team could not have been more helpful. Sadiq even built me an outdoor desk to write at. It’s very personal, everyone knows your name, and there are just 36 bungalows on the whole island.
I loved being able to snorkel the reef right outside my room, having my own private stretch of beach and being able to swim round the whole island in 45 minutes, and walk it in 12.
If you want motorised watersports and oversea bungalows, flashy restaurant and strong WiFi - this is not your island. If, like me, you value being close to nature and a personal touch - you could not find a better place to be. Thank you to the whole team for their care 🙏”
