How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewOverwater villas are excellent, staff is very friendly and super helpful. Food (especially Spice) is very tasty. The island and the surrounding reef is absolutely awesome. Transfer from the airport and arranging the sea plane is very smooth, no headaches, our flight was delayed, they still did everything to make sure we catch the final sea plane of the day.
Quite expensive overall, especially add-ons (drinks, all activities, underwater restaurant..etc) are very expensive. As one example, the padel court was completely unused for the whole week we were there, they still asked us for ~100USD just to play for a while, without any trainers or help. Small activities like this should be included in the price. Not important at all, but the TV in the room is quite outdated, we couldn't connect any of our streaming apps or devices.

Verified reviewAll the facilities were great and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our villa host, Jambe, was so accommodating to everything we needed and he was a big reason our stay was so good.
The transit wait times and routes with the seaplane is the only bad thing I could comment on.

Verified reviewStaying at Anantara Kihavah for our honeymoon exceeded all our expectations,and our holiday on the beautiful island was truly magical! We were greeted onto the island by bongo’s,the staff welcoming us on the pier and serving us fresh coconut water before our lovely villa host,Harnie drove us on a buggy through the lush island plantations to our incredible, newly renovated,spacious and private over water villa,which offered full sea and beach view,and from where we enjoyed complete tranquility. The staff was impeccable! They always went out of their way to make each of our experiences memorable and personalized,remembering our names,surprising us with honeymoon cake, champagne and decorations and always offering us our preferred drinks for breakfast and dinner. Every night, we were taken on an amazing culinary journey at one of the five incredible restaurants,that offer cuisines from around the world and each in a beautiful setting,overlooking the water. Our favorite restaurants were “spice” and “sea” - Sea is the under water restaurant, from where we were taken on a gastronomic journey of a five course meal, six meters under water,experiencing the “message in a bottle” immersive dinner whilst marveling at the sharks, stingrays and more fish than you can imagine, peacefully swim around us in unison. The amazing execute chef,Joachim prepared our dessert on the table,like a masterpiece too beautiful to eat,and he was always present at the restaurants, ensuring guests were enjoying their outstanding meals. Another “wauw” experience was the snorkeling, which we thoroughly enjoyed and we were so impressed by the abundance of marine creatures and sea life, swimming around, just feet below the surface of the Indian Ocean. It felt so calm under the water,and as though the fish were inviting us to join them in their underwater World. Anantara Kihavah is truly one of the BEST resorts we have ever stayed at and we loved every moment of this unforgettable honeymoon.
We waited at the outdoor lobby area for nearly an hour, awaiting the speedboat and seaplane for departure. It was extremely hot and it would have been nice with a cold towel and a glass of water. Alternatively check out could be completed in the villa, for the guests comfort. This is the only constructive criticism as everything else was perfection. Thank you to all the Anantara Kihavah staff for making our honeymoon unforgettable and magical. It truly felt like a dream, on this beautiful island.

The manager sam, the night before flight said either upgrade or pay more because one extra infant in room he said because safety but okay to stay same room if pay 200 per night. It’s not one night it was 7 days. It let me feel just about money not safety. In that time i don’t have option to cancel as my flight after 12 hours. My concern about his way of discussion. I think in his potion shouldbe someone knows how to welcoming the guess. Otherwise all other staff were perfect.

The service was extraordinary and I’d like to mention a few names: Maria, our hostess, was amazing taking care of every single detail for us; Bandula, the hotel manager, was extremely nice with us offering a lunch in the underwater restaurant; and last but not the least the Cooking chef who kindly shared with me a very good gluten-free recipe of pizza ….
