Fourteen years after our first trip, we brought our two teenage sons back to this magnificent island for a week. The resort has been completely refurbished to international standards, and the transformation is remarkable. The staff's professionalism and friendly demeanor truly made our stay special. We'd especially like to thank Ms. Uma at the front office for her fabulous service. The dive center team also deserves a special mention; Emma, Manaan, Rehaan, Ammad, and Sivaad are awesome professionals. Their meticulous training and expertise made us feel safe diving anywhere in the Maldives, even in challenging weather. Combined with great food and excellent facilities, Bandos is truly a jewel in the Maldives.

While the experience was overwhelmingly positive, there are a couple of areas that could enhance the overall guest experience: Lighting at Night: The island becomes very dark after sunset, especially along the paths between green areas. While this preserves the natural ambiance, some discreet lighting would help guests navigate safely and comfortably at night. Food Station Layout: During busy meal times, the food stations felt quite cramped for the number of guests. Expanding the buffet layout or reorganizing the flow would allow for a more relaxed dining atmosphere, especially during peak hours.

Surrounded by lush greenery, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant marine life, Bandos offers the perfect escape from the chaos of everyday life. 🌊 Unforgettable Aqua Marine Experience One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the incredible marine life. Just steps into the shallow waters, I was greeted by colorful schools of fish and even spotted a blacktip reef shark—a thrilling yet serene moment. Snorkeling around the island is like swimming in a natural aquarium, with the coral reef teeming with life and providing unforgettable underwater memories. 🛏️ Luxury and Comfort at the Premium Beach Villa I stayed in a Premium Beach Villa, and the experience was absolutely stunning. The room was impeccably clean, spacious, and beautifully designed with a natural yet modern touch. The view was spectacular, with the beach and ocean just a few steps away. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the sight of the sunrise over the ocean was a truly magical experience. 🍽️ Delicious and Varied Dining The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and tasty options, from tropical fruits and baked goods to live cooking stations. Dinner was equally satisfying, with international and local dishes well-prepared and beautifully presented. The service staff were warm and attentive, adding to the enjoyable dining experience. 🌴 Nature Lover’s Paradise The lush greenery throughout the island creates a peaceful and almost spiritual atmosphere—you truly feel like you're in heaven on earth. Whether walking along the shaded paths or relaxing on the beach, the environment is calming, refreshing, and filled with natural beauty.

I thought it was quite mean having to pay for snorkels and goggles! It's an island surrounded by water... What else are we going to do but swim and check out the reef ? It should be included in the price. Also thought the transfer was expensive. Should also be included in price!

It was a slice of peace in a turbulent world. Pristine nature and totally laid back. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful especially Dyana, the manager who was lovely. We would go again for sure.

Not 100 percent happy with the new layout of the gallery restaurant. It’s a small serving area where the buffet is and gets extremely busy with all the guests getting food at the same time. I really suggest having two separate areas so the guests are more spread out. There’s more than ample seating room.

Nearly Perfect Stay – Let Down by Water Activity Staff Our recent stay at Bandos Maldives was, in many ways, exceptional. The over water villa was beautifully clean and modern, the snorkeling was some of the best we’ve experienced, and the majority of the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. The resort overall is well-run and truly offers a slice of paradise. However, the water activity staff were the one major disappointment of our trip. Unfortunately, they were consistently unhelpful, lacked basic enthusiasm, and gave the impression that guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority. Their dismissive attitude stood in stark contrast to the otherwise outstanding service we experienced elsewhere on the island. It’s a shame, because with such incredible natural surroundings and facilities, we were really looking forward to making the most of the excursions and water sports. Instead, this part of the trip left us feeling frustrated and let down. That said, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bandos overall — just be aware that the water activity center may not reflect the same high standards as the rest of the resort.

Every interaction, from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping, was warm, genuine, and professional. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or just a slice of tropical heaven, Bandos Maldives delivers on all fronts. We can’t wait to return.

We stayed at the premium beach villa for 5 nights. Everything was very good. The staff was very friendly, food was delicious, club house had good sports facilities. Snorkeling in the island beach was amazing. I would recommend all inclusive package which included unlimited access to tennis court, squash, badminton, table tennis, pool table, stand-up paddling and canoeing etc. I would recommend to take your own snorkeling gear, it would save money!!

Check-in process, our room was fabulous which was a premium beach villa set on 2 floors with own private jacuzzi. A surprise bottle of wine on our 1st night plus an invite to cocktail reception the evening before we were due to leave. We were also given later check out which prices had been previously discussed but then was given complimentary. This was greatly appreciated. Dedicated extremely hardworking staff that were always smiling and special mention to Janini and Heshan who looked after us during our stay.

What is there not to like... nothing

What was not to love about this glorious resort... one of the original in the Maldives resort options ...but age definitely does not mean 'tired'.. Obvious renovations in villas and, the soon to open new restaurant complex, add comfort and refreshing style to facilities and only 15 mins boat transfer from the airport meant plane to island beach was very swift. The stand out observation for me was the staff... every single person greeted with welcome and kindness. Whether reception, house, garden, or kitchen staff, each person appeared to bring a joyful pride to their tasks. I later learned and considered if energy and general happiness at work was due to the staff being rostered for 8 hour shifts and an annual 45-day holiday, apparently, unlike many other resorts where managers expect longer hours of work. For me, and a number of other visitors, the staff caringly created special situations to celebrate birthdays or honeymoons, really leaving a respectful sense of 'every customer is important ' My villa was so spacious with a relaxing lounge area, a large bed and clothes wardrobe bedroom, and an eeenormous bathroom, including large vanity bench, a bath and open shower-room. While an over water villa may be enticing, the closeness to the beach felt like it was my private beach. The beach areas around the entire island provide perfect swim areas with ample sun-lounges lining the perimeter of the island. A delicious and vast selection of food varieties is offered in the main buffet restaurant (with new complex being constructed) breakfast included in my booking but I soon added the evening meal option as well, then enjoyed mid day snacks and drinks at one of the other bars/cafes around the island. The buffett was duplicated to enable very swift access, and included a small area where the Grill, or Grillardin chefs cooked omelette or pancakes specifically as chosen.
