Husain was amazing, he’s very friendly and helpful. The lodge is located a few minutes from the pier and a bunch of restaurants and the bikini beach is within 5 min walk.

United StatesUnless you already know a local boat contact who can take you to the surf spots, surfers would be better off at Natural Surf House or Jailbreaks Surf Inn, places that organize groups of surfers to share the cost of taking a boat to Sultans, Honkey's, and other breaks. Hulhangu Lodge does not really cater to surfers specifically, so the boat trips they arrange tend to be of the private, solo kind that cost $40 per person per session. They don't know how to group together surfers so they can all go on the same boat and just pay $10 per person instead. Their timing is also awful - they responded 2 days after my request for a boat, putting me on a boat just an hour before sunset, when all the boats must leave the breaks. I only got 1 hour of surfing during the windiest and crappiest conditions for surfing instead of the usual 2 hours - yet still had to pay $40 as if I were on a solo trip even though I had to share the boat with 3 other surfers on the way back home. Hulhan'gu should team up with Jailbreaks Surf Inn or Natural Surf House to form a group of surfers from the island. For subsequent boat trips, I ended up just joining the Jailbreaks Surf Inn's daily boat trips and paying only $10 per trip. They know the best times to go out surfing and provide a surf guide who will show you where to paddle, hazards to watch out for, etc.
Good location close to the marina where all the ferries and boats for surfing and diving dock. The lodge has AC, hot water, wifi, clean rooms, and comfy beds with a variety of pillows. Excellent value.

PolandThe best guesthouse in Himmafushi. Very close to the bikini beach with a lot of tiny cute hermitage crabs. The owner and the staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. They respond immediately to any request via WhatsApp. If you need to do the laundry, they will arrange it for you. The breakfast is really nice and filling. They provide you with fresh water every day so you don't have to produce plastic.

It was a miserable trip. No matter what happens to you, do not go to this island even if it is the last job in your life.

RussiaVery welcoming people work here! Hussain does everything to make his guests comfortable and keeps you updated. During our stay we asked to be transferred to another room and Hussain let us change rooms the earliest possible. Also upon request they help you book transfers to and from Malé. My kid loved the gun rides they gave us to and from pier in their tiny golf car. The rooms are kept clean and tidy. Also Karim does a great job of cooking meals. His food was always super tasty even if simple and servings are very generous in size.
