How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewOur time at Kagi was simply amazing. The island has the perfect size for a relaxing and private get-away. The food is super delicious giving a great variety of international cuisine at the buffet and the different restaurants. The house reef is spectacular and offers the chance to see turtles, sting rays and reef sharks while snorkeling and diving. We want to leave a special thanks to the staff of the diving center (especially to Mido) wo made us fall in love with diving and even certified deep sea divers! From ping pong sessions to cinema under the stars and spa treatments (thank you Maria also for showing us how to open Mangostin) we had not one minute of getting bored. The water villa was absolutely amazing and offered great sunset views. Everyone on the island took very good care of us - thank you Shinan, for helping to plan our trip and being there for all inquiries and questions we had. We would definitely recommend staying at Kagi and are very sad that we couldn’t stay longer! Hopefully this is a see you soon. 🏝️

Verified reviewAn Unforgettable Stay at a Stunning Maldives Island Resort What an incredible resort! Just 4 years old, this island retreat in the Maldives felt fresh, modern, and beautifully designed — exactly what we were looking for. Every space, from the villas and rooms to the restaurants, bars, and spa, was aesthetically stunning and meticulously maintained. The entire property was spotless, with regular cleaning that really stood out. We opted for the premium all-inclusive package, which was absolutely worth it. The mini bar was fully stocked and restocked daily, all drinks were included, and the food was both varied and consistently high quality. One of the highlights was the beautiful house reef, which my husband loved exploring. The location is also perfect — just 15 minutes by seaplane and a quick 45-minute speedboat ride, offering flexibility to reach Malé for international departures. The resort staff were exceptional, and the overall vibe was relaxed, welcoming, and luxurious. Our host Sonam was super nice and always very responsive so big thanks to her! The honeymoon package came with lovely extras like a sunset boat trip, a complimentary massage, and even a mini photoshoot — thoughtful touches that made our stay even more memorable all booked and arranged by her! We had initially been concerned that the island might feel too small, but after the intensity of our wedding, it was exactly what we needed. The compact size made everything feel accessible without being overwhelming — especially appreciated in the humid weather. Walking from our villa to the restaurant was just the right amount of movement. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer!
One major issue we faced was with the hotel’s credit card processing. Nearly $6,000 was charged on my card, but the resort did not receive the payment. I had to call my bank to investigate, and they confirmed that the amount had indeed been reserved and would only be reimbursed after 21 days if the hotel could not see it on their end. As a result, we had to use a second card — a stressful and unnecessary complication. For a resort of this caliber handling high-value transactions daily, the payment process should be seamless. Staff should be clear on whether to process payments in local currency or the cardholder’s home currency (and good to do a test transaction before locking such a huge amount in one go maybe). What if I had been traveling alone without a backup card? These resorts often don’t accept cash unless it’s in USD, and I was carrying euros. Payment issues shouldn't be something guests have to worry about.

it bothered me that I paid for the seaplane transport from the airport to the resort (15 min) and on the way back they took us by boat (1 hour). this aircraft cost 800 euros round trip

Verified reviewKaji is a small, luxurious, secluded resort with everything you need! The staff is extremely friendly, super accommodating and ready to go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The hotel offers a variety of experiences and there is plenty to do (5 Big safari, Ocean glimpse and Blissful sensation are highly recommended). The spa facilities and treatments are outstanding (Aromatherapy and Baani serenity are highly recommended). Kagi is definitely a place to relax and recharge. I highly recommend the ocean pool villas with the sunset views! Make you use the Kagi resort app before you arrive to plan your itinerary in advance - a great way to plan your trip and keep track of your activities.

Verified reviewwhat an amazing design. There are only 100 guests at full capacity and it was when were there but we hardly saw any one. Every room has a private terrace and pool with sunbeds. So the most people we ever saw was about 20! Fantastic design.

Verified reviewOur 3rd visit in 3 years and just as a wonderful and perfect. Had the pleasure to visit several resorts and if want small, quiet and serene even in high season (but utterly special in lower density mid seasons), 30 min transfer from Male on sea plane and 5 min boat, limited kid noise given no kids club, amazing house reefs for snorkelling, first class eurodiver operation with 6/7 of the best dive sites in the Maldives within 45mins on a great boat with a truly great team, world class food and spa, a personal expression by the local Maldivian owner with genuinely first class personal management and service teams, there is no need to spend €1k plus per day at the busy and hyped brand resorts when this individual and perfect offering exists. We extended 6 days after 2 weeks to enjoy a little more…family feel and way they treat their staff means the service you receive is just sublime. Over water villas are just lovely and beach are quieter, do both if you can. Thank you Nazeer, Fira, Basil, rest of bar and restaurant teams, gardening team, Dora, Sajeith, boat crews and for making this our truly special home from home.
Vibe is super luxe and relaxed, management team and service is world class, amazing diving especially if experienced and simply…the calm.

Verified reviewThe Staff was very helpful, our Butler Aifee and room attendant Lugain were great. The Managers Nazir and Arif and Areef helped too. At the Resturant, the manager Saeed was impeccable. I loved the location of my room and appreciate that the staff catered to my request on allocating a quite very private room. We loved the Yoga teacher Uday who conducted a wonderful session for us at sunset. Gary at the Scuba Snokerling area was so thorough and helpful in explaining all. Loved that.
The food choices were limited and in room food menu is concise. The Dolphin cruise was just ok.
