How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Departure process 👎🏽After checkout time (12:00) you feel a bit kicked out. We stayed at many many resorts in Maldives so we can compare. Our seaplane arrives at 4, but you have to leave at 12 although there are rooms avaible. When we first asked, they lied and said they are fully booked but after I checked myself and showed them a screenshot , suddenly they said there are villas available but now surprise surprise they want extra charge after 12:00😅. A joke after you pay so much for the room. It’s free on other resorts since you can’t leave the island yourself. They even come before 12 to collect luggage’s which feels so rushed and gives you the feeling they want you out. Anyways I asked for a shower before leaving the island , they showed me the public pool shower which is in front of everyone 😂. Again I had to insist for at least the shower at the spa and only after complaining they arranged. Departure time: they communicated us 4PM. We were in our bathing suites laying at the public pool, ordering food when at 2:25 PM they called me saying our plane leaves at 2:40 now. Imagine the stress and rush, my suitcase still needed repacking, we left everything and were running. I could not shower anymore for my long haul flight and they didn’t give me time at least time to re organise my suitcase. So rushed AGAIN. ARRIVAL: before arrival the resort approached me by separate email that they want additional 96$. It’s not legal to change the price when your confirmation says ,,price includes all taxes and charges“. Thankfully we booked with booking , so they sorted it out for us. But NO apologies until today. Villas: NEED MAINTENANCE!! On the water villa the wood is in a very bad condition that I hurt myself and had wood splinters deep on both of my feet. The doctor helped me to remove free of charge as it can cause infection. However after the incident they did not fix it. We had to put everyday a towel to not step onto this area again.

The Front Office Team asked me to pass on their most heartfelt and sincere apologies for your departure experience as we were following the seaplane company decision of changing the timetable to earlier; due to unpredictable weather conditions, therefore ensuring your return to Male for your international flight. Maintenance is an ongoing journey, a daily endeavor in part due to the weather conditions and time; as for the jetties, progress is taking shape as you might have observed during your stay, rest assured of our commitment. The staff made my experience a whole lot better! The snorkeling was outstanding! Along with their other activities. Saw so many sharks, sting rays, star fish and other beautiful fishes. Verified reviewWe had 5 relaxing days on the over water villa. We walked to breakfast and dinner, enjoyed the white sand beaches and did sunset yoga. We also did the manta ray quest and nurse shark tour.
Breakfast n dinner Buffet was top 10. Would be better if the hotel could arrange non-halal food items at a different corner of the buffet.

Verified reviewOn top of being one of the most beautiful places on earth, the resort was very clean, and nice but the best part was the staff friendliness, professionalism, and the service quality. Over the years, we have stayed in many 5-star resorts all over the world, I can easily claim that this resort with its quality of service tops it all. We were greeted with the warmest of welcomes, our host Moosa had foreseen a complimentary villa for us to rest while our villas were being prepared, he made our stay perfect, gave us tips for exploring the island and the reef, made our bookings at the resort, as well as prepare the necessary documents for us to go back home smoothly. He was there every morning and evening to see if we needed anything or just to say hello and have a chat. The manager of the hotel, Guillaume, also greeted us daily and gave us recommendations for activities on the island. Under the management of the head of housekeeping Adam, the staff responsible for our villas Samir and Hadhee were very thorough and quick with the room preparations, they prepared special decorations on the day of arrival and the night before departure. The restaurant and bar staff were also very professional and friendly, greeting us with our names, with special attention to detail. Azuhar showed us how to make decorative fish using leaves and brought to us every morning a plate of mangosteen fruits which we did not know before. These are just a few examples of how Outrigger staff went out of their way to make our time enjoyable, we would like to thank to all of them for this unforgettable week. We will definitely go back in the coming years.

Verified reviewThe Staff were extremely friendly and kind, taking special actions (birthday message on our bed, champagne in the evening) to make it a very special holiday. Really appreciated the staff attempting to use our names when they greeted us, this was a very nice touch. Aliya was brilliant and very helpful.
The timbers on the boardwalk to our water villa were obviously aged and in need of repair, which meant that we needed to wear shoes to/from our vila. It appears that you are replacing the worst of the timbers progressively, however would suggest that this may need some accelerated actions. Also, we noted that a number of the water villa were in need of external repainting which does tend to make the units look a bit tired. After speaking with the Manager, we understand that there is work underway to stimulate new coral growth in the lagoon area. This is a positive step as the snorkelling experience around your resort was not as enjoyable as the experience which we had at another nearby (Vilamindhoo) report, with factors such as stronger wave action/less impressive coral being a natural factor which Outrigger needs to overcome.
