Reviews of Moodhu Surf House

I had a pleasant stay at Moodhu Surf House in Himmafushi. The guesthouse was clean, quiet, and had a relaxing island atmosphere. Although I didn’t go surfing, I still enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the warm hospitality. It’s a good choice for anyone looking for a simple and comfortable place to stay on the island.

There is nothing that i specifically didn’t like about the property but there will always be room for improvement. So I would say it would have been more convenient if they had 1 or 2 staff more.

No hygiene- no soap, no extra toothpaste and toothbrush- ACE not cool

We really liked the location and the staff was very attentive. The room was clean and the bed and pillows very very comfortable.

Overall, the place is fantastic, clean, and the staff, especially Modhu, were incredibly helpful. Modhu made everything effortless and even assisted us in booking some itineraries, which was a bonus. I highly recommend this place to my friends and family.

Maybe should've included a water kettle and coffee/tea options.

I loved staff there and how helpful they were, including Bill, the owner. Food was delicious thanks to Riaz. Whole object clean and quiet. Very helpful was air condition in the room, thanks to that we could come from outside and chill a little before going again. This is perfect place for you to stay if you don't expect luxurious and overpaid place! Food is amazing, you know you won't be hungry at all. Bill was very helpful with entertaining us. First he shew us the whole island, was very helpful. Always took care of us. Guys were also excellent company for evenings to sit in kitchen and just talk. I can just recommend. You feel like you visit your family, not someone's business. Very good place, with very good price, and very good people.

Only some places with rust, but it could also be caused by enviroment

Good location but again it’s a very small island. Clean and big comfy bed.

Nothing to do with the property. We were there in the beginning of February and it was not much going on in the island. Only three restaurants were open and they all had the same menu, and were not so friendly towards tourists. The bikini beach was mediocre. Just something to consider when booking your local Maldivian stay.

Came here to surf, but unfortunately no waves. Not much to do on this island otherwise. It’s a cozy little house, and the staff is helpfull.

-Paperwalls, there were only 1-2 other guests, but already a lot of noise in the room. -Bathroom needs an uprgrade -Plugs without covers and ceiling fan hanging loose showing the wiring

Bill was wonderful and helped us with everything about the island and ferry transport. They were also so great and decorated the bed in the cutest palms and flowers to celebrate our honeymoon. Such a lovely local island to visit.

The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. Himmufushi is a small island, so Moodhu is close to all the facilities on the island. Bill was great. He showed us around the island and arranged trips. The food was good. We had different meals during our stay and access to tea/coffee making facilities in the kitchen. We also had a kettle in our room. The plug sockets were the same as the UK, so there is no need for adaptors. There was nothing we didn't like. Bill and his brothers plan to refurbish and are asking guests for their suggestions for improvements. They will incorporate some of the suggestions. We have suggested having a mini fridge in the room.

Good location, quite close to the bikini beach, bedroom clean and quite nice / okay

- I honestly have NO idea where the good reviews came from?! It was so disappointing and very bad value for money - The bathroom is an absolute joke, it was dirty, rusty, didn’t even have a curtain and was very old / outdated. No wonder there’s no picture of it shown. - There was nothing in the room, no fridge, no glasses, nothing, not even water/coffee. - the room was very dark all day since there was nothing but one big dark wall in front of the window like you’re in a basement - the speed boat transfers to the island are 120$ one way - a rip off!

Bill is a great host, he‘s very responsive and helps quickly in any matter. He helped me organize a transport from Male to the island and he also organized boats for our various surftrips. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean and big. The cleaning staff is very polite and I was offered to have my room cleaned several times during my 10day stay. Will come again for sure!

The kitchen is a bit moisty but I rarely used it.

Amazing location, right beside all of the restaurants and jetty and also 5/10 minute walk to jails where everyone on the island surfs from. Lovely staff, Bill the owner made our stay and sorted everything for us from surf board rental to excursions to our boat back to the mainland. Can’t wait to go back

It’s a great guest house with everything you need. Close to the harbour, restaurants and access to the surf spot and beaches. Bill was very helpful, responsive and he organised all the transport I needed. Definitely recommended.

Perfect homestay for surfers. Short walk to jailbreaks and easy to catch a boat to the nearby breaks.

Everything was great. The room was huge, Air Con cold, bathroom was clean. Location was close to everything. Bill was responsive to all requests. Would highly recommend this place for a solo traveler.
