We were quite nervous and excited about our visit to the Maldives. The hotel was generally good. The sea, beaches, underwater glass, and reefs were beautiful. The staff was friendly and very helpful. If we had a problem, they were quick to resolve it. Our biggest challenge was that the food wasn't even close to Turkish cuisine. I'd also like to thank Mr. Ali, who was most helpful in this regard. He did everything he could to make sure we were fed, and he especially treated us to a romantic dinner on the beach. He was a very sweet and helpful man; we loved him very much. Overall, we were pleased with the hotel. The hotel is very good about transfers, planning everything according to your flight schedule and helping you.

The buffet food is very good but the buffet eating area is very 4-star and felt like an airport canteen at time with little ambiance. Bar also had a kids games area and blaring live music like a cruise ship

This is a 4.5 star property but the service and customer experience is really 5 star. Water Lagoon Villas all look westward to amazing sunsets and are a great option imho.

The spice restaurant was a bit too crowded. People were walking in barefoot to the restaurant even though there was a sign outside, that proper footwear was required.

Beautiful resort. Big, clean & comfortable villa/bed. Fantastic sunset view from our overwater villa. Loved swimming and snorkelling from our overwater villa, and the pool was lovely. So private and quiet, except for the sound of the waves, which was so relaxing. The food was good, especially the Indian, Sri Lankan & Maldivian cuisine. Lots of food and variety to choose from. The staff were excellent! Everything was well organised and every one of them were friendly, courteous & helpful. Standouts were Kessie & Simpa at the Randhi Bar.The spa treatments were excellent. We had an enjoyable stay.

It depends from person to person, but the cuisine variety causes dilution to the entire food quality. I guess there would be others who appreciated greater variety of food.

Staff has been exceptional and the leadership team made efforts to speak us constantly to ensure that we were pleased with the service. A shoutout to Varun from F&B, who paid meticulous attention to our needs and attended to them at every meal. The sunset villas are very new and they have been kept in great condition. The top 2 ladders rungs that allows you access into the sea were seemingly scrubbed to keep it algae and prevent accidental slips.

All the villas are BEAUTIFULLY decorated, spacious and so comfy, BUT, I think it's important to know that not all deluxe beach villas have the same view or outdoor space, so if you want to be able to lie on the loungers outside your villa, with a sea view or watch the sunset in the evening from your room, then you need to ask for a villa that has this. For us, to be able to see the sea and lie in the sun in front of our room was what made us chose the resort. Why else go to the Maldives or a lovely resort like Oblu!. We booked 3 villas and 2 of the 3 we were allocated had trees obstructing the view and no sunny space in front of them to lie out and enjoy the sun (as described and shown in the pictures on the website). We asked to be moved and this was kindly arranged 2 days later, which made the holiday for us, but we felt it quite misleading that each deluxe villa is priced the same and described as having a sea view when some don't. The only other slight negative for us was the type of entertainment in the main bar in the evening. We have older kids 20,18 and 15 and the music wasn’t for them or us. There is nowhere chilled to sit with a cocktail and enjoy the view with other people. I also saw snorkelers who had gone out early and not realised how shallow it gets over the reef when the tide is low. They got stuck swimming back and were clambering around on the coral! They were loaded down with all manor of gear and had ropes attached to each other which we’re getting tangled in the coral too. It was upsetting to watch. All guests need to be made aware of the reef rules: either have staff on duty earlier to make sure people are told about the low tide and how to exit the reef without damaging it, or give all guests a run down on rules when they arrive.

Beautifully decorated rooms and communal spaces and the resort had a really homely feel about it. The island isn’t too large, so everything is very accessible - not far to the restaurants/pools, and the resort is really beautifully landscaped. The snorkelling is the highlight though. I've dived in Egypt, Thailand, St Lucia, Jamaica, The Bahamas and Mauritius - nothing compares to Oblu HELENGELI’s house reef. Turtles, reef sharks, dolphins swimming off shore, fish of every size and colour. Was stunning. The selection of food is fantastic. Something for everyone and really delicious. We ate out once at The Grill which was a nice change from being with the masses. The staff everywhere are so friendly and helpful and seem genuinely to enjoy their job and do all they can for you. It was our anniversary during our trip and the staff decorated our bed and with flowers and left us a gorgeous chocolate cake. So thoughtful. The main bar area is great during the day. A really chilled place to sit and enjoy the view and have a drink, play pool or air hockey - we loved this. There are also 4 net hammocks over the water which are really relaxing to sunbathe on and watch the rays, small reef sharks and fish go by. I also liked that the general manager was very visible and present around the resort. He greats every guest when they arrive and is often in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner, talking to staff and guests and checking everything is ok. We honestly loved the resort and were so sad to leave.

They had specific hours for running the buggies or golf carts for transportation. As we stayed in the jetty at the very far end … it would’ve been nice to have the option to have a ride when we needed one outside of the scheduled hours. (One cart on call)

The Centre for motorised and non motorised sport. Staff there were rude and dismissive ( not the Centre where you get the equipment for snorkelling) Stand up pedal boats were limited and not of quality. Kayaks were limited and not of good quality

The increase in accommodation capacity, and consequently the restaurant and bar, has lost the atmosphere they had when they were smaller and more stylishly furnished.

There is absolutely nothing wanting in this resort!

The staff are really friendly and island services are extensive. The dive centre offers every possible water experience. The photographer is well worth it; beautiful and high quality photos. The souvenir shop has everything you could have possibly forgot. Their main restaurant The Spice has a variety of dishes available for breakfast, lunch and dinner; we were spoiled for choice and even for the pickiest of eaters there is something to have. The bar is just brilliant, great choice of drinks, as well as snacks. The bar also hosts a variety of games to keep adults and kids entertained. Just Grill restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience right on the beach, the food was beyond delicious. The villa pool and surrounding sand are cleaned everyday, along with daily accommodation housekeeping. The island is beautifully manicured and the pier is great for photos at sunset.

The only minor grumble we had, was the lack of a bar at the water villa end of the island. But that’s a small issue and just means a 5 min walk to the main location.

The cocktails weren’t the best, perhaps less expensive alcohol making them a little strong with no syrups? We loved the hand fishing excursion but it would have been nice to have cold water or soda on the trip.

We loved the beautiful reef and the bar and restaurant staff were both kind and helpful. Sunset villas were comfortable and in a perfect spot. Food at the Grill was absolutely delicious, buffet range was good, catering to a wide range of taste with good wines.

If I had to pick something I found disappointing, it would be that the underwater environment at other points was a bit less impressive compared to Jetty Sunset.

The underwater environment I saw while snorkeling at Jetty Sunset was truly amazing. I was also deeply touched by Anurag, who decorated my room beautifully every time and even prepared a cake for my birthday without me mentioning it. I had a wonderful time thanks to the consideration and kindness of all the staff. Thank you for creating such great memories.
