Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI have listed a few below so the hotel can improve Fish dishes - several days smaller Tuna was served which many might not know is full of tyraminase and can trigger allergy. But this type of fish is cheap. It would have been nicer to have had Seer or King fish. Grilled fish and prawns given its an island. Lobster was never seen. Expensive 5 star resort I expect items such as king prawns and lobster should be served without having to pay additional. Mosquitoes were a menace and I came home with hundreds of bites inspite of repellent creams etc. main issue is when you are sun-lounging or relaxing out side the villa or dining.
Well kept an army of staff look after it well. House reef is near the villa with a range of beautiful fish, sharks and turtles we saw on a daily basis. Occasionally saw a sting ray. We understood that August was rainy and off season. However everyday we stayed for 7 days it was beautifully sunny and water was crystal clear but choppy. Currents were strong but that added to the fun. Array of cuisines catered for everyone. Sue Chef Daladalan (may be I misspelt-apologies, BM Shiva and chef Vjay were extremely attentive and helpful esp with our infant. Special mention to bar manager Pradeep who was very helpful with every detail requirements not only ours but others who were at the hotel and led his team well. Dilanka from Wok was super helpful and mashed his team well to help guests. Neil and Isuru kept the guests spirited and engaged in various activities which was exciting. Our room attendant Gokarna was super efficient and has eye for detail. Everytime we returned to Suite the place was spotless and constantly checked with us if we were ok. Nihad who received us at the airport and also accompanied us on snorkelling was super. If I had missed anyone’s names I apologise as it’s a huge team effort to maintain and suppprt a packed hotel. We loved every day of our 7 day stay. We will certainly return. Must say that the resort is super child and family friendly. Tashi at the spa was very polite and skilful masseuse.

AustraliaThis was a perfect holiday in the Maldives. We felt very spoilt, with a luxurious over water pool villa, with all inclusive everything. The food, service and drinks were top notch, the island had all you could wish for a relaxing tropical holiday. The house reef was lovely with an abundance of vibrant fish life. We also saw a turtle, rays, cuttlefish and several sharks. Our villa was always prepared so beautifully. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We hope to be back!

PakistanEverything about this hotel and island was beyond amazing. The beautiful turquoise waters, the white sand and the overwater bungalows are a sight to behold. My husband and I were here on our honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect. What blew us away was the hospitality and the friendliness of the hotel staff. My husband can’t eat gluten so the restaurant staff, specially Da Nang and Vijay at ‘The Courtyard’ restaurant made sure he had alot of gluten free options available. They went out of their way to arrange special meals for us. Special thanks to Nazeel, our butler who made sure all our requests were fulfilled timely. Thanks to Kaiom our housekeeping guy who made such cute animal figures when he came to turn the bed in the evening. He kept our honeymoon villa meticulously clean at all times. The food, entertainment and spa facilities were all top notch. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dream vacation.

United KingdomNothing not to like
Sangeli is a very pretty island with great food, friendly staff and everything you could want of a Maldivian island. We chose to stay in a beach villa with pool and we were very pleased to have chosen this level of room. We were in 211 which was on the main island but furthest away from the main pool, bar and restaurant. This for us was perfect as a couple without children. We had our 'own' peaceful paradise piece of beach just in front of our villa. The mini bar was topped up daily with wine, beer and soft drinks along with snacks though we could have also taken the 5 min walk to the bar and brought out takeaway drinks. There were beach villas without pools on the other side of the main island and a long walkway of water villas joined the facility end of the main island with the adult only (during the daytime) island. On this smaller island were 2 speciality restaurants, a pool and a bar with a separate walkway to the honeymoon water villas. The day we visited this smaller island for our serenity package included 1 x speciality lunch we found the pool area to be very quiet which again gave us a relaxing afternoon. The lunch at the just grill restaurant was lovely although we were suprised to see that the adult only rule had been overuled on the day we visited so lunch was accompanied by the noise of kids tv on phones. The main buffet courtyard restaurant and pool bar were great and there was a great selection of excellent food and quality cocktails and mocktails on the all inclusive menu. There was also a wide choice of decent wine on all inclusive. We only stayed for 3 nights so we didn't see much of the entertainment or visit the spa. However the app has a good varied daily programme of activities and if you stay for longer there is a spa treatment included in the all inclusive plan. Snorkling on the house reef was good and there was a pretty lagoon reef area where the current wasn't too strong.

FranceWe miss the pastry chef ( chef Patil) and his opulence dessert buffet, whether for breakfast ( viennoiseries) and specialities from over the world ( legendary cheese cake with Indian spices, baklava etc..). We share His realisation to the pastry chef in France and they were impressed. We are not yet used to the new chefs but will eventually. The international buffet at courtyard is still impressive but to enhance the culinary experience, would have been nice to have more western dishes ( bœuf bourguignon, pommes duchesse, French fried, tournedos, schnitzel, supreme volaille aux champignons etc..). The Indian station ( courtyard signature ) still delicious ( suggestion to elevate the true Indian cuisine experience: charcoal boneless meat instead of oven roasted meat please). We go to this paradise destination to pamper ourself : for the lady, a hair saloon would have been nice :-)
The staff are the true stars of this hotel. From the landscape officers to the Foods & Beverage staff to the cleaning teams, not to mention the therapists at Elena Spa. Hard working and very attentive staff, everyone is trying to make sure that we have a memorable stay. As this is our third time to this resort, the staff (at least those still here) still remembered us and offered a warm welcoming. Special shout out to F&B manager Shiva who organised for us a special birthday celebration how thoughtful. This guy has eyes everywhere and intervened tirelessly every day to ensure everything runs smoothly. And chefs Rahul and chef Vijay for catering to our child with special needs, so that our lunch/diners would be hassle free. The premises are still well maintained and equipped, perfect cleaning every day. Some minus wears and tears but that’s normal life due to sea salt and overtime erosion. Are we in holidays to enjoy or to pickle on those little things? Snorkelling still wonderful: colourful fishes, tortoises, Nurses sharks, etc.. at 10 meters from the villa.

MaltaThe pool of the villa was small and shaded so it was a big cold. The view from the villa of the ocean was blocked with alot of trees. Was a pity we didn’t have a clear view of the ocean. Would have liked more activities in the evening for entertainment.
The staff was amazing. They took care of everything we needed. The villa was big and beautiful also. Food was well varied and really good. Staff were very attentive to our needs.

United KingdomWhat a great place. We had a wonderful stay with you. No complaints about accom staff food etc etc. The transfer back to Male however was dire. It was an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience to end a gt holiday. The boat was all over the place due to the Monsoon weather. Given the accuracy of meteorological technology these days and the expectation of Monsoon conditions for some mths each year I wondered why alternative transfer arrangements could not be put in place. I'm not an expert but a bigger boat maybe or allowing more time for the journey or seaplanes.

United Arab EmiratesThe resort in general is great place to visit The staff are friendly and helpful they try there best accommodate your request The food is great with many different choices The over water villa it has great view privacy in general is good if you are in the swimming pool but if other guests are snorkeling then just be aware the you might be exposed if privacy is important for you in general it good privacy The boat transfer takes 55 min once the boat move it depends on your arrival time the waiting time for the boat to leave could go to 1 to 1 and half as it combined transport and the same applies to the return we you could arrive to the airport very early but that is all acceptable as the distance is quite far , the boat ride could be rough it is windy something you can't blame any one for it where you should be prepared with motion sickness pills to avoid getting sick if you are not used to such conditions, the boat was big with air-conditioning and clean and closed. Overall great place

Everything really, almost too hard to sum it all up. It was our first Maldivian holiday and did not disappoint. We loved the overall balance of well-organised and not-too-long transfers from the airport, the generous two-bedroom beach house with pool, the pristine nature (beaches, vegetation, reef and marine life), the hugely varied buffet meals, the truly comprehensive all-inclusive package, the outstanding SPA experience, the wonderfully friendly staff. It was just the perfect level of relaxed luxury for us and we can therefore not do anything but give full marks :-)

ChinaEverything was amazing. The Kids club was fantastic, too! The spa was just sublime. Loved every moment there. I would only suggest an umbrella rack to be put outside some of the common areas especially during the rainy season. The weather can sometimes be unpredictable. So having umbrellas ready should a downpour start with a place to drop them off when one moves from area to area would make this fantastic resort even better.
From the time we booked our stay to our arrival, the team in charge of guest liasons was professional & timely in all their responses. When we arrived at the airport we were met and taken to the jetty. From collecting our luggage to getting on the boat it took 15 minutes. Our plane landed at 09:30, so were quite luckly in that regard. When we arrived at Sangeli, the view was nothing short of magical we were then given a warm welcome and shown to our villa almost immediately. The villa itself is quite spacious and kept well. There is a good balance between creature comforts, like air-conditioning and a coffee machine with a mini bar which if you are on the serentity plan is refilled daily. While also allowing for there to be a blend with nature, the outdoor bathroom area for one. We could literally walk right on to the beach from the villa and the waves were always calm. The attention to detail is commendable, from the how the meals are served and hats off to the chefs at the Courtyard, Just Grill & Just Wok. The servers, maitre'D and host/hostess are all very welcoming and were constantly making positive interactions with my kids especially my youngest(6 year old). The desserts are absolutely delicious. The pastry chefs are no joke, managing to serve up such delectable delights every night. The buffet meals were always being changed so you don't feel it is the same thing every single night. If you have a chance making a trip to One Banyan to enjoy the exquisite meals served at Just Grill and Just Wok it is well worth it. There are buggies to help you get round if walking is not your thing. When I wasn't with my children I liked to walk around. Both with and with out them i was able to spot sharks just while walking. Visit the Rock bar for snorkeling during low tide in the morning for a chance to spot a baby shark. Thank you to all the staff who really pay attention and work hard to make everything magical on your visit.

AustraliaThe entire experience was very personal. Each staff member was extremely welcoming and accommodating, but not just in your regular resort way. Each staff member made effort to remember my family's names and told us stories and facts about the Maldives and its wildlife; especially our buggy driver, Ali, who went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The daily breakfast, lunch and dinners were phenomenal, with staff and chefs ensuring your meal is without a fault. Ragu, one of the chefs, cooked us an incredible seafood platter and steak dinner; some of the best quality food we've ever had. Even JustGrill and JustWok were unforgettable, with Shaam's hospitality and generosity leaving a lasting impression on us. Some of the other staff we'd love to praise are Safwan at Courtyard, Raj at the One Banyan bar (best cocktails), Kader with housekeeping, Shiru at Sangs Bar and Mohammad also at the Courtyard. Overall, after decades of my family travelling the world, this stay at Oblu was the best so far. Thank you everyone.
